School Rules
Be Safe
Be Respectful
Be Responsible
Dress Code
Students are expected to be neat, clean, and dressed
in appropriate attire that will not interfere w/ the
instructional program.
District policy states:
A student may not remain at school dressed in a
manner in which his/her clothing or lack of clothing
(1) creates a safety hazard of said student or for other
students at school, and/or (2) when the dress
constitutes a serious and unnecessary distraction to
the learning process or tends to disrupt campus
order.
Dress Code
Therefore, the following clothing items are not permitted on
campus or school event:
1. Hats, scarves, bandanas, hoods, or other head covering,
unless they are official Arrowview spirit hats (for authorized
use only), or for religious purposes.
 (Hats, hoods, beanies, and gloves may only be worn outside, if the
temperature is below 55 degrees or it is raining)
2. Sunglasses
3. Pants which sag beneath the buttocks or ripped/torn to
expose the thigh area.
4. Shorts, pants, or skirts which may reveal any part or the
buttocks or underwear. They may not be shorter than the
length determined by reach of fingertips when arms rest
comfortably to the sides.
Dress Code
5. Revealing shirts or tops that expose the midriff,
cleavage, underwear, or private body parts. I.e.:
spaghetti straps, halter tops, tank tops, or see-thru
clothing.
6. Plain white, short-sleeved T-shirts of any kind
7. Pajamas or pacifiers
8. Hanging belts or initial belt buckles
9. Pocket belt chains, large chain necklaces, or jewelry w/
pointed metal studs or other sharp edges. (Safety Issue)
10. Knee length pants w/ knee socks pulled up to pant leg.
Dress Code
11. Any attire which promotes drugs, alcohol, tobacco, gangs,
weapons, tagging, or other criminal activity.
12. Any attire that contains profanity, demeaning, or offensive
remarks or sexually suggestive pictures.
13. Open-toed, backless shoes, steel-toed shoes, or house-slippers
14. Button-down shirts which are not buttoned
15. P.E. clothes worn over street clothes.
When a student’s attire is not in compliance w/ regulations, they
will be required to modify his/her clothing. In some cases, the
student will be allowed to wear P.E. clothes. If necessary, the
student may be sent home because of unacceptable dress. Refusal
to comply with the dress code will result in disciplinary action.
Graffiti Policy
No type of graffiti is allowed at Arrowview.
This includes graffiti written on walls, books, tables,
papers, notebooks, shoes, clothing, backpacks, or
skin. Writing any graffiti-type writing may lead to
disciplinary action, which may include payment for
all vandalism to property. Any tagging materials
including: marking pens, white-out, or items with
graffiti on them, will be confiscated if they are
brought to school.
Theft
Do not bring valuables to school.
Students should not bring more money than what is needed
for the day.
Valuable items should not be left in your P.E. locker or in the
locker room area. The school is not responsible for these
items.
Teachers and office staff are not liable for missing items. Do
not leave your things unattended or with other students.
If you find an item in the classroom that someone else may
have forgotten, please give it to your teacher. If you find lost
items on campus, please turn these items into the office.
Materials
You are expected to bring the following EVERY DAY to
EVERY CLASS*:
 Agenda
 A reading book
 3 sharpened pencils
 1 pen (black or blue)
 Notebook and LINED PAPER
 Bag or backpack to carry everything
*See your teacher before school if this is an issue.
Bravo’s Class: All assignments must be kept in our US
History 3 Ring Binder.
 Don’t throw anything away! This includes assignments that have
already received a grade. We’ll need them for your review at the end.
Borrowing A Pencil
As a student, it is YOUR responsibility to come to
school prepared.
If you need to borrow a pencil: fill out the pencil
sign/out sheet
You must return the borrowed pencil before you
leave class
If you have to borrow a pencil more than 3 times you
will receive a lunch detention
Entering the Classroom
Enter the class SILENTLY, go directly to your seat and
begin working while the music plays.
You have about 5 minutes to complete the starter,
objective and homework in your agenda.
This is SILENT and INDEPENDENT!
You are to be finished when the music/timer goes off.
If you finish early, read your AR book!
Agendas/AR Books
You must have your agenda and AR book at all times.
You must fill out the objective and homework for
every class, every day.
Agenda/AR book checks will be done randomly.
No agenda or AR book = agenda detention to be
served on Tuesday at lunch.
Bathroom Breaks
Use the bathroom during lunch and passing periods.
Go to the restroom (S-Wing) immediately after being
dismissed from class if it is urgent.
No bathroom passes will be given during class!
Absolutely no bathroom passes 5th period!
In the event of a bathroom emergency, fill out your
agenda and I’ll sign it.
Dismissal Procedure
Begin to pack up only when instructed to do so (I’ll
usually play music to cue you).
Clean up your desk and the floor around you.
When the bell rings (stay seated), you are to wait
silently until I dismisses you.
THE BELL DOES NOT EXCUSE YOU – I DO!
Passing Period Procedure
You are to take the Nobles’ route ONLY when changing
classes during passing periods!
Y-1
X-1 X-2 X-3
Y-2 Y-3 Y-4
Z-1 Z-2 Z-3 Z-4
A-18
Trash Procedure
If you have trash, you are to leave it in a corner of
your desk.
DO NOT get out of your seat. I don’t want people
wandering around.
Raise your hand and ask to throw it away. If I say no,
you may throw it away at the end of class while
packing up.
Tardy Procedure
If you come to class late you are to:
Enter silently without talking to anyone.
Sign the tardy sheet
Then go directly to your seat and immediately join
the lesson in progress.
Team Tardy Policy
Both feet must be on the floor with you in your seat
by the bell
If not, you are considered tardy!
 1st Tardy – Lunch/after school detention where you will
write a letter.
 Tardy detention must be served by Wednesday,
otherwise, you will have detention on that Friday after
school for 45 minutes (We will call to notify your
parents/guardians).
M.Y.O.B
If the teacher is away from class/talking to another
adult in the room, he/she will tell you to M.Y.O.B.
You are to work ABSOLUTELY SILENTLY on:
The assignment for the day
Extra work available at your seat
Reading an AR book
Time-Out Procedure
If you are asked to leave the class due to your behavior
you are to:
Take a behavior sheet.
Report to the class that you are asked to go to.
Wait in the back of the room until you are told to sit.
Fill out behavior sheet SILENTLY.
When finished, silently raise your hand to receive
instructions.
Behavioral Expectations
If a student is unable to exercise self-
discipline, I will intervene and find a
solution to the problem. I reserve the
right to notify parents or guardians,
give detentions, or hold a conference
with the student, his/her parents or
guardian, and the counselor and/or
refer the student to administration if
there continues to be problems.
Referrals will also be used for
immediate removal of a student if
necessary.

Food/Gum Policy
There is absolutely no: gum chewing, eating or
drinking* in class!
 *Bravo’s Class: Bottled water okay.
If caught you will spend your lunch scraping gum off
the bottoms of desks or picking up the classroom.
Late/Incomplete Work
Late work will not receive full credit and will not be
accepted after a unit is over. It is your responsibility
to hand in work and make up tests – It is not my
responsibility to track you down. Missed
assessments must be made up within 2 school days.
After that, they will be entered as a zero.
Grading
Grading is standards based!
AP – 81-100%
P – 61-80%
B – 41-60%
BB – 21-40%
FBB – 0-20%
Total - 100%
Suggestions
It is vital that you come to me early if you are having
difficulties. Do not wait until the end to ask “What
can I do to pass?”
Also,
Have Fun!
