Jumping the broom is a comedy/drama that focuses on marriage between two African-American
people.
A foreshadow is used to give an idea of how the couple meet and how we get to the point of
marriage in the movie.
This all happens in the first 7mins of the film where the two main characters have already been
established. The main characters are established even before the credits are shown.
Music used is quirky and sexy and sets a certain mood in the first 2 mins to give us a certain
perception of the main character.
A voice over is used to echo the characters thoughts and views.
A blur is also used to show the entrance of Sabrina into the first scene this may also give us a early
opinion of her.

The three film openings I have studied I noticed that both Toy story and Jumping the broom establish
characters and some sort of storyline before credits or even the name of the film.
Jumping the broom is the only film to differ in its opening, it take 7mins to bring in credits, and 10
mins to show the title
