1. Costume Ideas
The girl band that will included in my magazine will be wearing a costume that reflects and highlights
their personality which includes fun, bubbly and cheery. I am aware that bright clothes are used in pop
artists/bands to indicate innocence and happiness, which I will then be using bright clothing on the young
females, to show they are an exciting, young, pop girl band.
As my theme will be young girls, having a fun sleepover, they will be wearing bright, stylish pyjamas,
which will bring out their individual personalities. In the magazine, there will be some aspects of
coordination within the girls to represent they are a group and to show their friendship. Though, they will
wearing their own individual costume to emphasise each female’s individuality and to inspire young
teenage girls and embrace their own uniqueness. Here are some examples of what they will wear:
The band will wear a mixture of socks, slippers and some will be bare foot. For the girls that will be bare
foot, their toes will be painted with nail varnish. This links to the feminine look and target audience as
they are all likely to wear and love nail varnish. Socks will be worn to create a preppy, high school look
and slippers will be worn to show the feminine, girly look. Here are also a variety of images to show what
the pop band will be wearing.
The pop band will also be wearing bright makeup and fake eyelashes which is another way to bring out
their personality. This is common to represent a pop artist/band. Here are examples.

2. Below is an image of the girl band The Saturdays, wearing the costume that inspired my ideas. The image
shows they are having a fun and giggly sleepover. I am able to recognise this through the use of props:
pillows, popcorn and a cosy bed. The setting also represents they are having a cosy, fun sleepover just
like young, teenager girls do. Each member is wearing different pyjamas to show their individuality. I will
be using this feature as I want to show the target audience that each member is their own person and are
independent. However, I will not be using a bedroom as my setting but a high key studio lighting as I feel
this is more professional. Furthermore, I have decided to use the same style of pyjamas shown in the
image of The Saturdays as they look attractive, classy and stylish. The girls are wearing either slippers,
socks or bare foot with their toes painted. This has inspired me as this is another way to show each
members individuality, and creative style. I have also decided to use this feature when completing my
images.
