2. What is a Music Magazine?
• A music magazine is a magazine that covers a specific
music genre in different ways.
• The purpose of a music magazine would be to
entertain, advertise and inform. The reader of a
magazine would expect all of these things. Overall,
entertaining would be the main purpose that a
magazine producer would aim for as the audience
reading the magazine want to be entertained over
anything else.
• The audience for a music magazine would depend on
the genre of the magazine.

3. What Content would you expect to
find in a Music Magazine?
You would expect to find a wide range of content in a
music magazine. Content such as:
• Interviews with stars
• Reviews
• Tour Dates
• Posters
• Artist Profiles
• And More

4. What Images would you expect to
fin in a Music Magazine?
You would expect to find a wide range of images
throughout the music magazine, images such as:
• Artists/ Bands- Images of fans favourite stars
• Upcoming Events- Venues, Studios (behind the scenes)
• Instruments (depending on the genre of music)
• Brand Identity- Rolling Stones wear same clothes and have the same
stance.
• Merchandise

5. General Characteristics/ Features
that you'd expect to find
There are many general features in a magazine that you
would expect to find, general features such as:
• Images of Artists or Bands
• Specific Language- Slang, Jargon
• How often its sold- weekly, fortnightly, monthly
• Range of cost (£2.50-£4.50)
• Most Magazines have some sort of online presence

They all have:
• A main image
• A masthead
• Coverlines
• A Barcode
• A Date
• A Price
• A Colour Scheme

7. Why are the Features Present on all of the
Magazines? Why are they Important?
• They are all typical features that you would expect to
find on a magazine cover.
• The audience is used to seeing these things so they know
what they are buying.
• The features give out an organised layout which is
simple for the reader to understand.
• The features such as the barcode, date and price all help
make the magazine legal.
• The colour scheme on the magazine covers again make
them look organised and proffessional.

is?
This is a Rock Magazine:
• Black background gives the magazine a
gothic feel about it which indicates rock.
• The font of the masthead comes across very
bold and edgy. The lines going through the
masthead make it look aggressive which
links to the aggressive music.
• The cover lines on the front cover includes
artists that are known for producing rock
music
