Examples Of If I Were Me Essay
IF I WERE ME
Have you heard the story of the eagle and the crow? In the streets of greater town there lived an
eagle and a crow, they were best friends and used to spend most of the time together, One day the
eagle fell ill and requested the crow to take care of the baby eagle, crow being the best friend
promised the eagle that she will take care of the baby eagle, So the time passed by, the eagle died
and the baby eagle grew in the same nest with crows. An eagle for your knowledge flies very high
and very fast while crows flies low and slow, by nature eagle is fearless while crows lives their
entire life in fear. As the baby eagle grew big it learned to fly like a crow, it feared flying high and
never took a big leap, and it lived its entire life like a crow and died one day.

Personal Narrative: Another Funeral
Another loss. Another funeral. A husband, father and incredible warrior who held strong, endured
unimaginable pain and courageously fought to hold on to every last moment of this life. The
similarities to my own loss stir painful memories of my darkest hours. I knew going in, there would
be numerous triggers layered into this day. Never the obvious, so I cannot prepare. I do know they
often strike without warning, a curve–ball of sorts that take me off guard and often pack enough
punch to send my spiraling back down the rabbit hole. And yet, even knowing this high probability
of personal pain, I still felt compelled to go to this funeral and celebration of life...and take my kids.
The support of loving friends and family can be incredibly powerful and immensely healing at these
mournful events. I packed up plenty of tissue, braced myself for the day,and asked a friend to save
us seats in the very back of the church. That way, if a breakdown of significant proportions took
over, for any of us, we'd have an easy escape route out. The last thing I wanted to do as "the other
widow" was to make a scene or faint in the middle of the service from a possible overwhelming rush
of emotions. Unfortunately, a traffic jam along with a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Are The Ewells Lazy And Irresponsible
The Ewells are a vile and hateful family that is an outcast in the town like the Radleys. If the Ewells
are two things they are lazy and irresponsible as well as mean. I will start with the Ewells laziness
and irresponsibility. First of all, the Ewell family has not earned a dollar themselves and it shows.
The Ewell kid at school was filthy with cloth scraps for clothes. The second reason they are lazy and
irresponsible is that they do not go to school unless they threatened by the sheriff to go. Even when
they are threatened by the sheriff they only go to the first day of school and then never again until
next year. The third and final reason is that they are walking trash heaps. The Ewell kid at school

Philips vs Matsushita
N.V. Philips (Netherlands) and Matsushita Electric (Japan) are among the largest consumer
electronics companies in the world. Their success was based on two contrasting strategies –
diversification of worldwide portfolio and local responsiveness for Philips, and high centralization
and mass production for Matsushita. Royal Philips Electronics of the Netherlands began as a small
light–bulb factory in Holland, and by the turn of the century, was one of the largest producers in
Europe. One–product focus made Philips a leader in industrial research which stimulated product
innovation. Consequently, product line was broadened significantly and the flow of exciting new
products and ideas continued through the years. Limited domestic ... Show more content on

By the 1990s Philips 's functional capabilities were unable to meet the Japanese competition. Its
technical capabilities had been weakened by the failure of its attempt to commercialize a new video
product on its own, the CD–interactive (CD–i). Philips could no longer commercialize major new
consumer electronics products. The Japanese first–movers and followers completely dominated
electronics market worldwide. By then only Japanese companies had the integrated technical and
functional capabilities required to commercialize products of new technologies.
By the end on the twentieth century Matsushita Electric became a large diversified industrial group.
Yet it faced severe financial troubles and became a takeover target. In 2000, new CEO Nakamura
reorganized management and placed the company 's 30 divisions into four distinct groups with
centralized research and development. With Matsushita in charge of R&D allocation, it was able to
direct more funds to key growth areas. Other reorganization actions were undertaken to improve
Matsushita position, by nothing turned the situation around. Philips also carried out a major
restructuring program trying to return it to a healthy footing, simplifying its structure and reducing
the number of business areas, but failed. The root to both companies’ misfortune was the

So many people have tried to explain how life should be viewed, yet in my mind no one has gotten

Sister Moon Religion
The movie Brother Sun, Sister Moon tells about St.Francis's early life, conversion, and religious
order that he founded with the emphasis of living as beggars and relying on the mercy of others as
Jesus did. In the beginning of the movie, it shows a wounded man in a hospital, this was Francis
after he survived the war. When he regains his health, he goes home to his wealthy family. After
seeing all the materialism there is in the world, Francis wants to get rid of all his possessions and
live as the beggars do so that he would be able to find true happiness in living a simple life. When
we see that Francis has survived the war, we know that due to his hallucinations that he probably
had suffered from some form of PTSD, he felt incredibly confused and unsure as to why he was still
alive and his friends were not. With this realization, he was probably upset that he ... Show more

It presented Francis as person who was always hungering for something more in his life and seeking
fulfillment and holiness. By watching Francis's formation in the faith, we can see him grow into the
saint we see and pray to today. He is known for being a person who is completely selfless and is
willing to give up everything he had to live as Jesus did. What I personally learned from this movie
is that I was able to witness the life of someone who always lived for others and also had the
determination and courage to stick to what he believed in and to stand up for those beliefs. By
setting this example, he attracted people to follow him on his religious path and to join his group.
This following that St.Francis had, it soon grew into an entire order of monks known today as the
Franciscan monks. Francis is an example to all of us not just because of how he lived his life but
how we touched the lives of other people. In the words of St. Francis "If God can work through me,

The Disadvantages Of Living At Home
While attending your college classes, some of your classmates may live in a dorm on campus, while
others may commute from home. Yes, we are all trying to achieve the same goal, a diploma, but it is
the struggles that lead up to earning that piece of paper that we must take into consideration. Cost,
opportunities, and distractions all should be considered, and that is why commuting from home
would be the smartest choice when attending college. When discussing cost, it can be a huge
difference maker whether you are choosing to live at home or on campus. When you choose to live
on campus, you have to experience dorm life, pay room and board, and live off of cheap food.
Coming from a student who currently lives at home while attending college, I save so much more
money than some of my friends who live on campus. An advantage of living at home is that I am
capable of paying off my student loans as I go through school because tuition is much cheaper and
you get to work as well. You can work whether you live on campus or at home, but you get to save
more money while living at home because you have less tuition and expenses. Not having to worry
about all of the student loan debt after college takes a lot of stress off of me. While living at home, I
also have been able to buy my own car and make payments on it monthly. I will be able to have it
paid off before some people my age are given the opportunity to purchase one. The money you save
while living at home is most definitely

Essay on Turn Your Computer Into a Jukebox
Turn your Computer into a Jukebox
Are you the type of person who spends twenty dollars on a CD, just because you like one song, and
the remaining tracks are disappointing? Did you know that you can have your whole CD collection
in your computer's hard drive? Are you tired of listening to the unexciting music played on the
radio? Would you like to be able to make your own CDs? These days it is fairly cheap to have
internet access and a computer that will let you record, store, discover, and download music. In the
past, being able to do this was very expensive and difficult, but when the Mp3 format appeared and
Cd recorders became inexpensive, this revolutionized the way we experience music. All you need is
the right software and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The software is free, and it connects you with millions of users who share their songs, and you
virtually can find virtually any song you want . Recently I had my grandmother's birthday, so I
figured out that the perfect gift was to give her a mix CD full of oldies; she couldn't believe how I
was able to record them on disc.
The second step is to download the music from Winmix or extract it from a CD; so you can start
building a collection of music. My father, for example, got tired of loosing and scratching his CDs,
so by extracting the music into his computer, he now has over a thousand
songs stored in his PC. I'm a music lover; I enjoy all types of music, from Trance to Classical, and I
can not afford to buy all the CDs I want. The internet and Winmix give me the opportunity to
download only the songs that I like; so I save tons of money and I discover new artists. Another
advantage of this method is that it opens doors for new artists, because masses have instant access to
their music. Critics believe that this is stealing from them, but on the other hand, the internet may
catapult their careers to new levels. I'm not going to spend twenty dollars on a "one hit wonder"
album. But, from my favorite bands like U2 or Dave Mathews Band, I gladly spend my money.
After you have created a nice collection of your favorite tunes, you are ready to make your own CDs
or transfer

Compverty And Poverty In The Bean Eaters, By Gwendolyn Brooks
Imagine what you would all be like if, despite adversity and poverty, you still had a positive outlook
on life? What would happen if you lived every day to the fullest? You would probably look back on
life fondly despite all your hardships that you may have faced. Gwendolyn Brooks addressed the
issues of poverty and living to the fullest in "The Bean Eaters" and "Sadie and Maud." Both these
poems have similar themes and some differences as well. This paper is about the contrasts between
the two poems.
Gwendolyn Brooks wrote both poems. Brooks often wrote about the plights of minorities and those
in poverty. She lived in an apartment in Chicago and would write poems about those around her. "I
wrote about what I saw and heard in the street," Ms. Brooks once said. "I lived in a small second–
floor apartment at the corner, and I could look first on one side and then the other. There was my
material" (M. Watkins, 2000). She drew her material from watching those around her. You can
clearly understand how her observations helped her write these two poems because of how both the
poems were about the plights of those in poverty.
In both poems, their characters were living in some sort of poverty. Even though they were in
poverty, they were without want. The characters in the poems still manage to have meaningful lives
despite the poverty and adversity that is against them. "In Sadie and Maud", it is assumed that Sadie
did not earn as much money because it says "Maud went to college/Sadie stayed at home" (G.
Brooks, 1963). The reason one can assume that Sadie probably did not earn as much money as her
sister is that you usually earn more money if you have a degree. Also since it says Sadie stayed at
home it does not explain what she was doing during that time. In another part of the poem, it states,
"When Sadie said her last so–long/Her girls struck out from home. / (Sadie had left as a heritage/Her
fine–tooth comb)" (G. Brooks, 1963). Again, it is apparent that she did not have much at all. All
Sadie had to give was her fine–tooth comb. The Bean Eaters also do not have much to their name. it
says "They eat beans mostly, this old yellow pair. / Dinner is a casual affair. /Plain chipware on a

Nowadays, Americans use technology to obtain information, because it's easier than knowing the
material. This has become a huge distraction and it's making people rely on technology way more
than is needed, especially the young people. For example, they use Google to search things like
homework, essays, speeches, etc. They do this as a shortcut to getting their work done faster because
they can find what they are looking for in a matter of seconds, instead of actually doing the work by
themselves and it's leading to an intellectually impoverished society. In the article, Is Google

just typing in a couple of words; however, those people don't learn the information or value
knowledge (Carr). This wouldn't be a problem for the people if they lived a tech–free life because
without technology there is no reliance on it. Also if they lived a tech–free life, they wouldn't have
to worry about getting spied on. Technology, such as phones, is used to spy on people because the
government and big companies like to keep track of their every move. In, That's no phone. That's

The Importance Of Vocation In A Ray Of Darkness
Former Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams' book A Ray of Darkness, has been influential
on my own journey with call and vocation. Prior church experiences taught me that introspection
and self–exploration were too prideful and that it is the Christian's duty to continually pursue
difficult things, in spite of aptitude. The rationale was: if it is difficult, then it must be holy. It was
this very mindset that for many years, kept me from pursuing my calling.
Williams' book was formative in my life because he critiques the common view of vocation as a
"theatrical casting" event, which is also how I once viewed vocation. Williams argues that the "God
finding us a part to play" perspective of vocation is inherently problematic and leads to resentment
when we do not feel we are being "used"1. Rather, in quite ground– breaking fashion Williams
defines vocation as "the call to be" and exist as oneself 2. This frees us
to respond to God's call within our own unique identities. This was a revolutionary thought – that
God wants me to be myself. Williams exposes the tendency to hide in "unreality" and self–
protection, saying that vocation "is what's left when all the games have stopped. 3"
Now that I am moving towards the priesthood, I am actively engaged in discovering myself and
gifts that I possess. This is a unique challenge after years of living up to others' expectations of how
a good Christian should live. In the past, I did not give myself permission as Williams says to

I was surprised when I found out that people live along side of such a beautiful canyon like this. It is
said that still to this day you can see signatures of past residence that lived here on rocks and cabins.
Although many don't remain settled there today, they still make routine deliveries to forest service
locations. It is amazing that a mail delivery system dating back to the 1920's still continues today.
The most amazing part of this film is seeing how settlers lived in such a remote place on earth. No
electricity, no running water etc. Many citizens came to the United States because of the industrial
revolution. This reminds me of when we talked about the citizens came over seas in hopes of a
better life and getting a job. These citizens all lived in Miami and created their own community
much like Hells Canyon. While I was watching this film I just could not understand on why many
settlers chose to live here. Setting in the Hells Canyon is the complete opposite of the industrial
revolution. We talked about in class, people often are not choosing where to live but actually forced
to live where they do. I think the example of the Hells Canyon is the opposite. Many settlers have

not a surprise to me, or even most of the residents who feel exactly as you do. Many folks moved to
Folsom with the optimistic dream of keeping Folsom the " best little town" by Sacramento.
Unfortunately, there are folks who are politically implanted in Folsom's city government who feel
bigger is better. Growing up in Folsom and graduating Folsom High, I got to experience all the
amenities Folsom was known for like our parks, schools and small town charm and friendliness. Our
elected official made big promises to get the development plans pushed through unbeknownst to

Essay: the Bad Seed
The world itself is full of people and the secrets hidden within. A prime example of this are from
books like The Bad Seed by William March and We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley
Jackson. These two novels both contain characters with many secrets, many dark secrets that cause
them to hide and live away from society. In a sense, these characters live in "secret worlds". Starting
off with The Bad Seed, Rhoda, the main character who is responsible for violent crimes and her
mother Christine who is the "guardian angel" that's responsible for keeping Rhoda out of trouble.
Just like Rhoda, the character Merricat from We Have Always Lived in the Castle is the one causing
the trouble and her sister Constance is the protector. The dark ... Show more content on

Later on in the novel, she then commits yet another murderous action on Leroy Jessup. The main
reason being that she is afraid that Leroy will expose her of her deeds and so she decides to kill him.
This is another example of how confused and naive Rhoda is and how she needs guidance from a
strong–minded individual. The same applies to Merricat but she is lucky enough to have Constance
as her support, who appears to be more strong–minded than Christine. After poisoning her family
members with arsenic, Merricat expresses her feelings by saying, "Fate intervened. Some of us, that
day, she led inexorably through the gates of death. Some of us, innocent and unsuspecting, took,
unwillingly, that one last step to oblivion". Fortunately for both her and Constance, Constance
survived the poisoning attempt and Marricat supports this by saying, "Some of us took very little
sugar." Following the poisoning incident, the townsfolk have been starting to look down on them
with disgrace and hate. This persuades the sisters to live a life of secrecy away from society. It's the
feeling of neglect, hate, being afraid and even being afraid of that possibly led them to living this
type of lifestyle. For example, in the book Merricat said, "I can't help it when people are frightened".
The people living within the town are showing that they're afraid of her and want nothing to do with
her. On another note, she also said, "I would have liked to come into the

The Loons Essay
The Loons
Margaret Laurence's "The Loons", is a story about an Indian girl who tries to overcome obstacles in
her life and discover a place of belonging, but in the end, dies at an early age. She grows up in an
environment where she is not happy, and despite her efforts to leave, ends up back in her hometown,
which leads to her death. The theme of this story is that everyone is a product of their environment,
which is illustrated by Vanessa and Piquette's lives and the loons on the lake. Vanessa MacLeod was
raised by a supportive family and friends in a positive environment. She had a wealthy family who
were interested in her happiness, her behavior and how she dressed. Her parents cared for her and
allowed her to do amusing things as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She had to be absent from school for treatment and rest, which gave her no desire to go to school
and she was unable to develop proper social skills. When Piquette finally moved away from her
hometown, she was unable to find a place of belonging and settled for a man who didn't treat her
well and left her with two children. She lost desire to live and died in an accident that could have
been prevented. Her negative upbringing caused her to live a miserable life which led to her death.
The loons that lived on Diamond Lake were used by Laurence to represent Piquette, how her
environment affected her life and her desire to live. The loons' environment was invaded by people
who didn't care for them, in result they couldn't adapt to this change. It is similar to Piquette being
unable to adapt to her husband leaving, but contrasts to Vanessa being able to deal with her father's
death. When humans invaded and changed the loons' environment, it made them unhappy with their
home and surroundings. Vanessa describes the loons' absence as, "Perhaps they had gone away to
some far place of belonging. Perhaps they had been unable to find such a place, and had simply died
out, having ceased to care any longer whether they lived or not" (p.256). You can see the
resemblance between the loons and Piquette, each being affected negatively by their environment.
The changes in the loons'

When Abibatou Diallo Was First Starting School, Her Name
When Abibatou Diallo was first starting school, her name stopped being so hard to pronounce. Her
name stopped being what she identified at all. Her teacher took her name and with no objections
from Abibatou began calling her Abby. Thinking about being called Abibatou, just fills Abby with a
weird feeling now. Not a single person has called her by her full name in such a long time, that it no
longer holds any meaning to her. Abby's name is just one example of how she has been forced to
become Americanized since she began her education. You see Abby is African born through and

Abby strongly believes that if her life was switched she would not be the reserved anti–social
bookworm that she is. She would not have devoted mostly all her time to school work. She would
have lived just a little bit more. Abby managed to be in gifted classes from first grade all the way
through high school. When entering high school, she took advanced placement classes almost every
year, and ended up becoming valedictorian of her class. School was her life, it was what she was
brought to America to do. School was what was ingrained within her that she had to do, because it
would be selfish if she did not. There was so much pressure to succeed, for her sister was not given
the opportunities that she had received. Abby has never struggled with school, she has always been a
gifted student. She loves to write, she loves to read, she loves school, but she did not like all the
underlying pressure that was imposed upon her.
If you knew Abby you could see that who she was, was more than just being a student. While a
dimple filled smile that reached ear to ear, and a bubbly spirit, it is hard to not want to be her friend.
This may be why she is so frustrated with spending so much time on school. She never had a lot of
time to show people her true colors. She was always too busy writing. As mad as Abby can be for
not getting that true social aspect she wanted, it is subsided with her pure love for writing. It has

Cache
Cache located between CPU and RAM. It is a high–speed memory that accelerates CPU to
exchange information from RAM (Shelly, et al, 2008). Cache works in a frequently accessible files
and programs in the computer so it can be processed in shorter time. For example, a secretary's
computer which used for typing a lot will have its word–processing program opened faster than the
other staffs' computer.
Secondary storage * Stokes (2008) states that secondary storage is used for saving files and
information in the matter of capacity. When programs are installed into the computer or files are
inserted, secondary memory is the place where all the stuffs are put into. It gives information about
how much computer can store data in its system. Files, programs, and other stuffs that put in
secondary storage are saved permanently in the system. So, when the computer is off, the stuffs will
stay at the same state and condition without having any lost parts.

Anne Frank Essay
Anne Frank had a numerous amount of tragic events during her lifetime that scared her and her
family throughout their existence. Although, she did have a few high–points that would continue her
legacy. Anne Frank suffered as a Jew in various circumstances, she had a cruel time while she was
hiding from the vicious Germans, and the dairy that was written by Anne modified a variety of
people. Anne had a tough time as a Jew and had to go through several harsh situations. As a child
Anne and her marvelous family had to move around to different locations quite a bit. For example,
Anne was born in a small city in Germany and had to leave because of some troubles her family had
for being a Jew. This was when Anne's mother, Edith, wanted to leave for Amsterdam so that they
wouldn't have a high chance of being captured. Also, they started off in a public school where they
had a innumerable amount of different races all in a single building. It wasn't until later that the
children had to make a transformation to a Jewish school. When a barbaric man named Adolf Hitler
became a huge leader in the German colonization horrific things happened to the Frank family. The
family decided to flee to a secret annex so that they would not be caught by the Nazi Police, the
Gestapo. She had to live in a firm where they were taken care of by her dad's business partners, this
event occurred in 1942. Living in the annex was not consistent for her original lifestyle and

Analysis Of Greg Bishop's Finding Myself
"Finding Myself" by Greg Bishop is an article written about how Bishop was mistaken for another
man of the same name. Bishop, out of the blue, was asked almost daily if he had lost weight or if he
played in the NFL. Bishop was fully aware he didn't fit the claims, so he looked into it. Turns out,
there was a Wikipedia article on the NFL player Greg Bishop, but his photo was replaced by the

research and plenty of emails being bounced back, Bishop was able to find the cellphone number of
the other Greg Bishop. They talked and they found out they have pretty similar backgrounds. I

my desk. I was thinking on how I could talk in a way that appeals to the people I was talking to. I
guess I would know what appeals to the Greasers, but I did not know what appealed to the Socs.
They were always behind a wall of aloofness, so it would be hard to know what appeals to them. I
was thinking of the ways that I could discover what the Socs liked. ''There is only one way to find
out,'' I said to myself. It was a crazy idea, but if I could do it successfully, it would help me get the

Cherry showed me where the Socs like to go, like the Way Out and Rusty's. ''To get to know Socs
better,'' said Cherry, ''you got to meet them.'' ''What if they think I am a Greaser,'' I asked. ''We will
just say you are a cousin,'' responded Cherry nonchalantly. We went inside the Way Out, which
looked very nice in comparison with the Dingo. The chairs seemed more expensive and luxurious.
That might be an odd thing to point out, but it's true. We decided to go talk to some Soc
quarterbacks who played for the school I went to. Cherry knew them because she was the
cheerleader. ''Who is that guy?'' asked one of the quarterbacks. ''I am just a cousin,'' I replied. ''Just
showing him around town,'' said Cherry. ''Alright,'' said the quarterback. ''Can I ask you guys some
questions?'' I asked. ''Be honest,

Why Is Rameck Important
Rameck could have died. If certain events hadn't transpired, if certain people hadn't been met,
Rameck could have been killed on the streets earlier in his life. Befriending Sam and George were
the beginning of a new chapter in his life. Rameck was intelligent, but he never had the motivation
to fulfill his potential – until he saw other people doing it. Seeing his two friends work hard and
study and stay away from trouble inspired him to do the same. He understood that being surrounded
by positive influences could change you, better you. This happened to Rameck, and he wanted to
share the power of positive influences with his stepbrother, Michael. Michael and his friends
accompanied Rameck onto the college campus. Rameck hoped that they'd be inspired to attend,
since Michael used to be smart. Michael endured years of bullying and teasing because of his
intelligence, and as a result of this, hid his brain behind a facade of new muscles and toughness. His
friends, though, were all completely nuisances. All day, Michael and his friends ran across the
campus wild, screaming and causing disturbances. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

believed the white students were misjudging him already. He yelled at the onlookers to leave, but
they wouldn't move. He attempted to scare them by merely puffing himself up and going too close
to a white student, who just smirked at him. Rameck was in a conundrum; his fellow black friends
expected him to fight, because that was the norm in Plainfield when someone disrespected you, but
he also didn't want to confirm what the white people were beginning to think of

What Is Your Goals Essay
Goals are more than just things we want to achieve because goals create a roadmap for success.
Goals remind us why we do what we do, why we are where we are. Without goals, we would not

family and friends by my side. I also want to travel the world, get to experience other cultures and

because since I want to live my life to the fullest, I am going to need a big house to make that

Tobacco Hornworm Lab Report

The purpose of this assignment is to observe the stages of a Tobacco Hornworm. We are then
supposed to document them and describe not only their life cycle, but also any physical or

to the order Lepidoptera and the family Sphingidae. The normal habitat for Tobacco Hornworms is
normally along the Gulf coast, which provides plenty of sunlight and a warm climate. They feed on
most commonly tobacco or tomato plants. As adults they imbibe nectar from flowers and other
plants. In our case the Tobacco Hornworm was living in a vile, feeding on the food provided. I

Considering this the Hornworm was kept under artificial light throughout the night and by a window
through the day. The temperature was around 60–62 degrees Fahrenheit, which is typically too cold
for the Hornworm. With that in consideration, we assumed the hornworm may possibly take more
time to transition instars. The food source for the Tobacco Hornworm was what was provided which
was a mixture of water, agar, and wheat germ. The Tobacco Hornworm was kept in the kitchen and
was usually observed during the afternoon and evening. Pictures were taken whenever a physical
change was noted. Normally an observation would be around 3–4 minutes and would be written
down with a date. A lot of research was done to see if the Hornworm was transitioning into a new
instar and what they were supposed to look like. It was usually very noticeable when the Hornworm
had transitioned to a new instar because of the difference in size, appearance, or the presence of shed
exuvium. If I was ever unsure, a lot of available resources were online and also posted onto
Blackboard. A picture was taken at every transitional stage.

James T. Russell and the Invention of the Compact Disc
James Russell was born in Bremerton, Washington in 1931. His first invention, at six years old, was

Bettelle let him pursue his project and in 1970, after years of work, he succeeded in inventing the
first digital–to–optical recording and playback system, the CD.
A CD is a simple round piece of plastic about 4/100ths of an inch thick, and 12 centimeters in
diameter used for electronic recording, storing, and playback. Most of a CD consists of an injection–

formed, a thin, reflective aluminum layer is put onto the disc, covering the bumps. Then a thin
acrylic layer is sprayed over the aluminum to protect it, and the CD label is printed onto the acrylic.
The compact disc was first used for audio storage only, but are now used to store audio, video, text,
and any other information in digital form, and are able to hold 783 megabytes in all.
The CD works, because binary information is

The movie Brother Sun, Sister Moon tells about St.Francis's early life, conversion, and religious
order that he founded with the emphasis of living as beggars and relying on the mercy of others as
Jesus did. In the beginning of the movie, it shows a wounded man in a hospital, this was Francis
after he survived the war. When he regains his health, he goes home to his wealthy family. After
seeing all the materialism there is in the world, Francis wants to get rid of all his possessions and
live as the beggars do so that he would be able to find true happiness in living a simple life. When

Funeral's Funeral
On monday I attended his funeral. This was the hardest day in my entire life, I had lost my favorite
person and had to sit in a cold, hard chair, and watch his casket lower into the ground. He had a
beautiful air force ceremony, with the folding of the flag, and farewell son played on the trumpet.
Hot tears streamed down my face as I realized I would never hear his voice again, smell his strong
Aramis cologne, or be able to give him one last hug. No longer will I get to see him pull up to my
house in his cherry red Jaguar, or hear is over exaggerated stories at christmas. I will never be able
to cuddle up to him while eating his beloved spice drops and watching PGA tour, as the burning fire
embers die down. I will always keep my memories of him close to my heart and remember his best
days. Living a life without my grumppop will be one of the hardest journeys I will have to go
through but because I live in the moment and try to remember every single detail of our lives
together, I know that he will always be with me. How I remember all my experiences so vividly
because I lived in the moment with him.I made sure that i wasn't always on my phone when I was

As we can see he answers his own question saying that he doesn't need to work for God or give him
gifts but just believe in him and continue with his day to day and be patience. He also states that he
should not worry about satisfying God because he is served by thousands and if he waits kindly they
will also serve him. "thousands at His bidding" and "They also serve who only stand and wait"
(1050). John Milton blindness might have stopped him from during many things but he surely didn't
stop doing what he loved. He continue writing and doing his day to day living for he might one day
have to present his Maker an account of his live and his faith. "Milton's faith in God seems to give
him the courage to face his life despite his blindness. It is this faith that seems to give him courage
and patience to cope and also gives him the hope that salvation lies for those who wait in patience
(Darr). John Milton continue with his live even though he was blind but this didn't stop him because
he was doing what he loved and also because of his faith in God.

What Is Your Goals Essay
Goals are more than just things we want to achieve because goals create a roadmap for success.
Goals remind us why we do what we do, why we are where we are. Without goals, we would not
have starting points and destinations to reach. My main goal is to live my life to the fullest with my
family and friends by my side. I also want to travel the world, get to experience other cultures and
traditions, and meet new people. My final goal is to live in a big house (in the future) preferably a
two story, this would give me a lot of space for my stuff. To accomplish these goals, I need to be a
happy person, do good in school, get a great job and have a lot of money.

By this, I mean buying myself with my own money, a nice house with a lot of space for myself. I
Most likely allow my family live with me, but that depends on how they are doing in terms of
money. I want to pursue this goal because I have always wanted a big house for myself. Some of my
family members have big houses and it's just awesome to be there I also want to pursue this goal
because since I want to live my life to the fullest, I am going to need a big house to make that
become reality. To pursue this goal, I am going to need to do research to find a find a house of my
choice and on–sale. With the technology that there is today, finding a house won't be that hard, I just
need to real estate website and keep scrolling until I find I house that I like. To pursue this goal, I
will need a good job to be able to buy a house, not a lot of money will be needed since houses in Las
Vegas are not that expensive. If I lived in California, then I would need a lot of money because
houses are double or triple the cost of houses here. Most second–class families live with other
second–class families in the same house for that reason. When I lived in California, my family and I
lived with another family in the same house to split up the payments. This goal is very likely to
happen if I get a good job and be patient looking for a house on

My College Experience
As Dan West has stated every story has a beginning, middle and an end to it. I can tell you all sorts
of stories from the past two years. Some of the events I have experienced are like none other and can
be only described as a college experience. No matter how the story goes, or the content of the story,
a constant theme of learning and growth is present throughout everyone. Throughout these past two
years, I have learned several bits of information about myself. College can be described as a
learning experience, and that is exactly what I would describe my college experience. In the
beginning of my freshmen year of college, I was extremely nervous for how my life was going to
change. I was the first person in my family to go away for college, and I did not know what to
expect on campus. I was curious as to how I was going to make friends. Having to live with
someone else and share space also made me nervous. All the while trying to figure out what I
wanted to major in and what I wanted to do with my life. With all of these thoughts swirling in my
head, I went into move in day with kind of a negative attitude. To say I was stressed out was an
understatement. However, once moving in and meeting the people on my floor I soon became very
excited to see what was in store for the upcoming year. As the year continued I meet all the people
on my floor and eventually several people who lived in my building. Making friends was easy
because everyone was just going along with everyone

Examples Of If I Were Me Essay

  • 1. Examples Of If I Were Me Essay IF I WERE ME Have you heard the story of the eagle and the crow? In the streets of greater town there lived an eagle and a crow, they were best friends and used to spend most of the time together, One day the eagle fell ill and requested the crow to take care of the baby eagle, crow being the best friend promised the eagle that she will take care of the baby eagle, So the time passed by, the eagle died and the baby eagle grew in the same nest with crows. An eagle for your knowledge flies very high and very fast while crows flies low and slow, by nature eagle is fearless while crows lives their entire life in fear. As the baby eagle grew big it learned to fly like a crow, it feared flying high and never took a big leap, and it lived its entire life like a crow and died one day. The moral is simple, we live the life we learn to live and not the one we are capable of living, Ask a child what he wants to do in his life and you will be amazed by his imagination and then meet him 25 years hence and he will be living a life entirely different from what he thought he would in his childhood, Napoleon Hill the father of motivation and author of the best seller 'Think and Grow Rich' says that all limitations are set in mind, if we can free our mind from the limitations we can free our self to live a life we are capable of living. The big question though is ... A husband, father and incredible warrior who held strong, endured unimaginable pain and courageously fought to hold on to every last moment of this life. The similarities to my own loss stir painful memories of my darkest hours. I knew going in, there would be numerous triggers layered into this day. Never the obvious, so I cannot prepare. I do know they often strike without warning, a curve–ball of sorts that take me off guard and often pack enough punch to send my spiraling back down the rabbit hole. And yet, even knowing this high probability of personal pain, I still felt compelled to go to this funeral and celebration of life...and take my kids. The support of loving friends and family can be incredibly powerful and immensely healing at these mournful events. I packed up plenty of tissue, braced myself for the day,and asked a friend to save us seats in the very back of the church. That way, if a breakdown of significant proportions took over, for any of us, we'd have an easy escape route out. The last thing I wanted to do as "the other widow" was to make a scene or faint in the middle of the service from a possible overwhelming rush of emotions. If the Ewells are two things they are lazy and irresponsible as well as mean. I will start with the Ewells laziness and irresponsibility. First of all, the Ewell family has not earned a dollar themselves and it shows. The Ewell kid at school was filthy with cloth scraps for clothes. The second reason they are lazy and irresponsible is that they do not go to school unless they threatened by the sheriff to go. Even when they are threatened by the sheriff they only go to the first day of school and then never again until next year. The third and final reason is that they are walking trash heaps. • 9. Philips vs Matsushita N.V. Philips (Netherlands) and Matsushita Electric (Japan) are among the largest consumer electronics companies in the world. Their success was based on two contrasting strategies – diversification of worldwide portfolio and local responsiveness for Philips, and high centralization and mass production for Matsushita. Royal Philips Electronics of the Netherlands began as a small light–bulb factory in Holland, and by the turn of the century, was one of the largest producers in Europe. One–product focus made Philips a leader in industrial research which stimulated product innovation. Consequently, product line was broadened significantly and the flow of exciting new products and ideas continued through the years. Limited domestic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By the 1990s Philips 's functional capabilities were unable to meet the Japanese competition. Its technical capabilities had been weakened by the failure of its attempt to commercialize a new video product on its own, the CD–interactive (CD–i). Philips could no longer commercialize major new consumer electronics products. The Japanese first–movers and followers completely dominated electronics market worldwide. By then only Japanese companies had the integrated technical and functional capabilities required to commercialize products of new technologies. By the end on the twentieth century Matsushita Electric became a large diversified industrial group. Yet it faced severe financial troubles and became a takeover target. In 2000, new CEO Nakamura reorganized management and placed the company 's 30 divisions into four distinct groups with centralized research and development. With Matsushita in charge of R&D allocation, it was able to direct more funds to key growth areas. Other reorganization actions were undertaken to improve Matsushita position, by nothing turned the situation around. Philips also carried out a major restructuring program trying to return it to a healthy footing, simplifying its structure and reducing the number of business areas, but failed. Sister Moon Religion The movie Brother Sun, Sister Moon tells about St.Francis's early life, conversion, and religious order that he founded with the emphasis of living as beggars and relying on the mercy of others as Jesus did. In the beginning of the movie, it shows a wounded man in a hospital, this was Francis after he survived the war. When he regains his health, he goes home to his wealthy family. After seeing all the materialism there is in the world, Francis wants to get rid of all his possessions and live as the beggars do so that he would be able to find true happiness in living a simple life. Yes, we are all trying to achieve the same goal, a diploma, but it is the struggles that lead up to earning that piece of paper that we must take into consideration. Cost, opportunities, and distractions all should be considered, and that is why commuting from home would be the smartest choice when attending college. When discussing cost, it can be a huge difference maker whether you are choosing to live at home or on campus. When you choose to live on campus, you have to experience dorm life, pay room and board, and live off of cheap food. Coming from a student who currently lives at home while attending college, I save so much more money than some of my friends who live on campus. An advantage of living at home is that I am capable of paying off my student loans as I go through school because tuition is much cheaper and you get to work as well. You can work whether you live on campus or at home, but you get to save more money while living at home because you have less tuition and expenses. Not having to worry about all of the student loan debt after college takes a lot of stress off of me. While living at home, I also have been able to buy my own car and make payments on it monthly. Did you know that you can have your whole CD collection in your computer's hard drive? Are you tired of listening to the unexciting music played on the radio? Would you like to be able to make your own CDs? These days it is fairly cheap to have internet access and a computer that will let you record, store, discover, and download music. Recently I had my grandmother's birthday, so I figured out that the perfect gift was to give her a mix CD full of oldies; she couldn't believe how I was able to record them on disc. The second step is to download the music from Winmix or extract it from a CD; so you can start building a collection of music. My father, for example, got tired of loosing and scratching his CDs, so by extracting the music into his computer, he now has over a thousand songs stored in his PC. The internet and Winmix give me the opportunity to download only the songs that I like; so I save tons of money and I discover new artists. Another advantage of this method is that it opens doors for new artists, because masses have instant access to their music. Critics believe that this is stealing from them, but on the other hand, the internet may catapult their careers to new levels. I'm not going to spend twenty dollars on a "one hit wonder" album. • 21. Compverty And Poverty In The Bean Eaters, By Gwendolyn Brooks Imagine what you would all be like if, despite adversity and poverty, you still had a positive outlook on life? What would happen if you lived every day to the fullest? You would probably look back on life fondly despite all your hardships that you may have faced. Gwendolyn Brooks addressed the issues of poverty and living to the fullest in "The Bean Eaters" and "Sadie and Maud." Both these poems have similar themes and some differences as well. This paper is about the contrasts between the two poems. Gwendolyn Brooks wrote both poems. Brooks often wrote about the plights of minorities and those in poverty. She lived in an apartment in Chicago and would write poems about those around her. "I wrote about what I saw and heard in the street," Ms. Brooks once said. "I lived in a small second– floor apartment at the corner, and I could look first on one side and then the other. There was my material" (M. Watkins, 2000). She drew her material from watching those around her. You can clearly understand how her observations helped her write these two poems because of how both the poems were about the plights of those in poverty. In both poems, their characters were living in some sort of poverty. Even though they were in poverty, they were without want. The characters in the poems still manage to have meaningful lives despite the poverty and adversity that is against them. "In Sadie and Maud", it is assumed that Sadie did not earn as much money because it says "Maud went to college/Sadie stayed at home" (G. Brooks, 1963). The reason one can assume that Sadie probably did not earn as much money as her sister is that you usually earn more money if you have a degree. Also since it says Sadie stayed at home it does not explain what she was doing during that time. In another part of the poem, it states, "When Sadie said her last so–long/Her girls struck out from home. / (Sadie had left as a heritage/Her fine–tooth comb)" (G. Brooks, 1963). Again, it is apparent that she did not have much at all. All Sadie had to give was her fine–tooth comb. The Bean Eaters also do not have much to their name. it says "They eat beans mostly, this old yellow pair. / Dinner is a casual affair. /Plain chipware on a plain and creaking wood, ... • 30. The Importance Of Vocation In A Ray Of Darkness Former Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams' book A Ray of Darkness, has been influential on my own journey with call and vocation. Prior church experiences taught me that introspection and self–exploration were too prideful and that it is the Christian's duty to continually pursue difficult things, in spite of aptitude. The rationale was: if it is difficult, then it must be holy. It was this very mindset that for many years, kept me from pursuing my calling. Williams' book was formative in my life because he critiques the common view of vocation as a "theatrical casting" event, which is also how I once viewed vocation. Williams argues that the "God finding us a part to play" perspective of vocation is inherently problematic and leads to resentment when we do not feel we are being "used"1. Rather, in quite ground– breaking fashion Williams defines vocation as "the call to be" and exist as oneself 2. This frees us to respond to God's call within our own unique identities. This was a revolutionary thought – that God wants me to be myself. Williams exposes the tendency to hide in "unreality" and self– protection, saying that vocation "is what's left when all the games have stopped. 3" Now that I am moving towards the priesthood, I am actively engaged in discovering myself and gifts that I possess. This is a unique challenge after years of living up to others' expectations of how a good Christian should live. In the past, I did not give myself permission as Williams says to ... The same applies to Merricat but she is lucky enough to have Constance as her support, who appears to be more strong–minded than Christine. After poisoning her family members with arsenic, Merricat expresses her feelings by saying, "Fate intervened. Some of us, that day, she led inexorably through the gates of death. There was so much pressure to succeed, for her sister was not given the opportunities that she had received. Abby has never struggled with school, she has always been a gifted student. She loves to write, she loves to read, she loves school, but she did not like all the underlying pressure that was imposed upon her. If you knew Abby you could see that who she was, was more than just being a student. While a dimple filled smile that reached ear to ear, and a bubbly spirit, it is hard to not want to be her friend. This may be why she is so frustrated with spending so much time on school. She never had a lot of time to show people her true colors. She was always too busy writing. I guess I would know what appeals to the Greasers, but I did not know what appealed to the Socs. They were always behind a wall of aloofness, so it would be hard to know what appeals to them. I was thinking of the ways that I could discover what the Socs liked. ''There is only one way to find out,'' I said to myself. Befriending Sam and George were the beginning of a new chapter in his life. Rameck was intelligent, but he never had the motivation to fulfill his potential – until he saw other people doing it. Seeing his two friends work hard and study and stay away from trouble inspired him to do the same. He understood that being surrounded by positive influences could change you, better you. This happened to Rameck, and he wanted to share the power of positive influences with his stepbrother, Michael. Michael and his friends accompanied Rameck onto the college campus. Rameck hoped that they'd be inspired to attend, since Michael used to be smart. We are then supposed to document them and describe not only their life cycle, but also any physical or behavioral changes we saw. The Tobacco Hornworms scientific name is Manduca sexta. It belongs to the order Lepidoptera and the family Sphingidae. The normal habitat for Tobacco Hornworms is normally along the Gulf coast, which provides plenty of sunlight and a warm climate. They feed on most commonly tobacco or tomato plants. As adults they imbibe nectar from flowers and other plants. In our case the Tobacco Hornworm was living in a vile, feeding on the food provided. Considering this the Hornworm was kept under artificial light throughout the night and by a window through the day. The temperature was around 60–62 degrees Fahrenheit, which is typically too cold for the Hornworm. The food source for the Tobacco Hornworm was what was provided which was a mixture of water, agar, and wheat germ. The Tobacco Hornworm was kept in the kitchen and was usually observed during the afternoon and evening. Pictures were taken whenever a physical change was noted. Normally an observation would be around 3–4 minutes and would be written down with a date. A lot of research was done to see if the Hornworm was transitioning into a new instar and what they were supposed to look like. It was usually very noticeable when the Hornworm had transitioned to a new instar because of the difference in size, appearance, or the presence of shed exuvium. If I was ever unsure, a lot of available resources were online and also posted onto Blackboard. A picture was taken at every transitional stage. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Sadly, this is not a surprise to me, or even most of the residents who feel exactly as you do. Many folks moved to Folsom with the optimistic dream of keeping Folsom the " best little town" by Sacramento. Unfortunately, there are folks who are politically implanted in Folsom's city government who feel bigger is better. Growing up in Folsom and graduating Folsom High, I got to experience all the amenities Folsom was known for like our parks, schools and small town charm and friendliness. Our elected official made big promises to get the development plans pushed through unbeknownst to most; they were pushing the "grow for growths" sake mentality we see today. This "spare of influence" is the key driver, which has unlocked all of the mass building, rezoning and water theft North of 50. Although the council has in my mind benefited both financially and politically by all of this, my guess is there is something on the back end for them to push this mentality. Throughout these past two years, I have learned several bits of information about myself. College can be described as a learning experience, and that is exactly what I would describe my college experience.
