3. COLOUR
The Normal Colours for a music magazine are; Black,
Red, Blue and White and this magazine follows this. The
black background gives a rock feel and gives you ideas
on what colours to use in front. The White Text is an
easy one as white on black looks clear and professional,
there is some pink text which is their because of the
bands colours, as the double page spread is done in a
interview format they have put the names of the people
speaking in red to make it clear to the costumer on
when someone is either asking a question or answering
a question, they have also highlighted key points/ lines
in red as it is a stand out colour. The pink was mainly
used as titles for the different subjects in the interview.

4. IMAGE
The Main Image Of this double page spread is
a studio shot of the members of “ the all
American rejects”. This is done in stand out
colours that go well with the black background.
The colours in the image are red, white and
black. There are sub images of the band such
as individual shots put around the main image,
these images are done in black and white and
it stands out from the rest of the magazine. The
black and white images around the main image
represent it being a rock magazine by showing
dark colours.

5. MASTHEAD
The masthead is done in two different
fonts and two different colours. The
colours are red and pink this makes
the masthead stand out along with the
black background. The colours of the
masthead would not say to me that it
was a rock magazine. The placement
of the masthead is in a normal place
where it would be on any double page
spread. The colours however catch
they eye very easily and the size of it
makes it stand out like the masthead
should

6. TEXT
The main amount of text is split up into 3 columns, this is particularly
normal in a double page spread as it done to use up more of the page
and fill up blank spaces. It is also vital for a double page spread to have.
The text is in the normal colour scheme for a magazine such as white
and red. They have also used pink again as this may be part of the
bands colours. The text stands out from the dark background. The text
could maybe have done with being bigger.

7. TITLE OF BAND
At the top of the magazine, there is the name of the band in the top corner,
this is done to promote the band and to get them recognised. This also
tells the costumer what the double page spread is about.
VARIATY OF FONTS
They have used different fonts in
the double page spread, this is a
common thing for magazines to
do as it gives a positive insight.
The different font may have a
few important lines to make it
stand out

8. BACKGROUND
The background colour of this magazine is black, this is generally a popular
colour for a rock magazine, it represents the genre very well.

This is generally a typical convention used in magazines, it is used to attract
the costumers eye to what the article will be about, it id generally the first
thing the people will read. They have done the same in this double page
spread to use a “pull quote”

9. AUDIENCE
The target audience of this magazine would be targeted with a passion for rock
music. The target age would be likely to be between 16+ with a passion for that
genre of music.
PAGE NAVIGATION
In the bottom corner of the double page spread there is a page number is used to
navigate around the magazine.
