Describe the major parts of the nervous system and their functions. Solution Nervous system consists of two parts a. Central nervous system ( CNS) and b Peripheral nervous system. Central nervous system consists of Brain and spinal cord. while peripheral nervous system consisted of long nerve fiber which connect various organ to brain via spinal cord. CNS has Grey matter consists nerve bodies while white matter consists of axon Major part of brain 1. Medulla oblangata : It control center for involuntary function such as breathing 2.Pond relay information between from brain to cerebellum 3. Mid brain responsible for eye movement 4. Above mid brain is dicephalon which composed of two part Thalamus and hypothalamus which maintain homeostasis Function Brain sends message through spinal cord to nerve to the body to control movement of muscle and functions of internal organ.
