2. 1.) In what ways did your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products? Conventions Challenges: -We did not film it our product at night time. -We did not have a person in a scary outfit/costume as the murderer. -We did not have an adult as the murderer. Similarities: -We had a male as the murderer. -We had a woman being chased by the murderer. -The murderer was dressed in dark clothes. Challenged Conventions:- We challenged the convention that the murderer has to be scary, and has to use a weapon to kill their victims.
3. 2.) How does your media product represent particular social groups? Our film represents two social groups. One is teenagers- we portray a teenager carrying a knife, dominant representation. One is women- we have a woman running from the killer, showing fear.
4. 3.) What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why? Our media product is a film. The film is most likely to be distributed through cinemas, and DVD retail outlets. It will also most likely be advertised by the same or similar companies, such as Blockbuster.
5. 4.) Who would be the audience for your media product? The audience for my media product would be teenagers and those who enjoy horror comedies. These people are most likely those aged between 14-25 and some who are outside this age range.
6. 5.) How did you attract/address your audience? The title of the movie ‘Bare Horror Movie’ is aimed more towards the younger population. We also have a teenage boy as the main character. The general plan of the film is also aimed towards the age group of between 14-25.
7. 6.) What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product? The ability to make better use of Apple Mac’s and Apple’s iMovie. I have also learnt how to use a blog and make posts. How to use a video camera.
8. 7.) Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product? Able to use the Macs to a higher standard. The ability to Blog, as I had never done it before. The use of a video camera.
