Identification In Voting
Legislations are attempting to pass laws that prevent voters from showing a form of identification. Many including myself, think that voters should
present a form of identification when voting no matter what. If people were not required to have a form of identification when voting than anyone,
citizen or not would be able to vote. Also not having and ID. when voting could become advantageous for either Republicans or Democrats. We show
some form of identification for smaller reasons, I don't see the positive outcomes, if any of not showing an ID. when voting.
For as long as I can remember Identifications have been used to show, and verify one's identity, whether it is to buy a small box of cigarettes or get
into a place, we must show and prove who are. There is really no excuse to not have an identification for something more important like voting.
Voters should be required to show IDs when voting in person, so that no one can vote twice. It is pretty self–explanatory. Fraud within the elections is
all too common, and having to show an Identification is a necessary risk we have to take to ensure that the person who wins, is the person everyone
actually voted for. Rarely do we hear of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Apparently, African Americans and Hispanics are "more likely than whites to report transportation problems and bad time and location as reasons for
not getting to the polls, while white voters were the most likely to cite disapproval of candidate choices (Weeks)." The surveys state that if a white
citizen decides not to vote it is because they don't like the choices rather than having obstacles preventing them from voting like African Americans and
Hispanics do. All in the voting process requiring identification may not have any effect on voter turnout if people poor or not would simply choose to

Voter Identification for Elections
Since 2000 there has been a rampant increase in the number of states requiring voter identification (ID) for elections. By 2004, approximately 19 states
had made it mandatory that some form of identification would be required. As this trend has remained largely consistent, so has the rationale behind
implementation of these laws from its proponents. Proponents of voter identification and registration laws argue that these laws are necessary to
minimize voter fraud and restore public confidence in elections (Goldstein 2006). For example, a 2005 U.S. Senate policy committee report claimed
that "voter fraud continues to plague our nation's federal elections, diluting and canceling out the lawful votes of the vast majority of Americans"
(US Senate Republican Policy Committee 2005:1). On the opposite side of the spectrum, opponents of voter identification and registration laws
argue that these laws further marginalize the poor, minorities, and the elderly. They also posit that voter ID laws are useless if their intent is to
decrease the amount of voter impersonation fraud because the occurrence of such is so rare. I will argue that if the intended outcome of voter ID
laws is a reduction in voter fraud and a restoration of confidence in the public about fair elections, the evidence on this subject is scant and the
evidence of the existence of voter impersonation fraud is even more slight. I will then go on to discuss the empirically substantiated effects of what

The Importance Of Absentee Voting
As an African–American male in the United States of America, the opportunity to exercise my constitutional right to vote in the 2016 Presidential
election was an honor. During this time, I was a first–year college student in another county in Texas; therefore, I decided to use an absentee ballot
early on in the voting process. However, voting by an absentee ballot was a concern because I wanted to make sure that my vote counted.
Nevertheless, as a new voter, I proceeded with filing in my absentee ballot, but still skeptical about the counting process. On November 8, 2016,
imagine my surprise when I learned that Donald J. Trump was the next President of the United States of America. My initial reaction was "what the

Since the majority of my family has a military background, they recall a time when they would go overseas and received great respect from our allies
when Clinton was in office. However, in the words of family members who are currently serving in the Armed Forces, "they are laughing at our
country" and "every day a scandal comes at of the current administration put our lives at risk". They further commented that when Obama was in office,
they received much respect from our allies. Furthermore, under the Clinton administration, my mother, aunt and uncle recalled purchasing their
first–time home with ease. During this time, you were able to apply for a mortgage without interest rates being determined by the color of your skin.
However, two family members were not fans of the Clintons, especially Hillary, who described the African–American man as a "Super Predator", one
shouted: "So what the hell do you call a white man who mass kills innocent school kids?" "Sounds like a "Super Predator" to me." "Now black men
are being mass incarcerated for stupid sh*t." From the 1994 Crime Bill to Whitewater to Monica Lewinsky, my family had whole lot to say about

North Dakota Voter's Laws
States created voter to laws help their citizens to participated easily during the election by casting their vote. The essay will contrast and compare
Pennsylvania and North Dakota voter's law, their eligibility requirements, their absentee ballot and more.
Anyone in Pennsylvania and North Dakota can vote if they meet the voter's requirements. Pennsylvania and North Dakota have similar voter
requirements; an individual must be at least eighteen years of age or older, must be resident of their county for at least thirty days before election day.
Pennsylvania residents must be a United States citizen for at least one month whereas, North Dakota must be United States citizens. The similarities

The county chooses several voting locations to have an in–person early voting. Arriving at the poll site, voters must possess an acceptable form of
identification; this includes a driver's license or non–driver's identification card, tribal government issued identification, long–term certificate or a
voter's affidavit. For voting on election day North Dakota voters must include on their identification their name, their current street address and their
date of birth. North Dakota utilizes photo–identification at the election, but it is not the only acceptable form of identification; whereas, Pennsylvania
only require an acceptable form of identification for first time voter. Some examples are a Pennsylvania driver's license, student ID, United States
passport, etc. Pennsylvania not having an in–person early voting is beneficial to the citizens because the state holds numerous amounts of citizens
compared to North Dakota; it would be a hassle to hold multiple days for election instead of just one day. Pennsylvania may not be tough on photo
identification because it is a competitive state, whereas North Dakota is not a competitive

Essay on Voting should be an obligation not a choice
Voting should be an obligation not an option
Living in America gives each person individual freedom. The freedom is yours to express your own opinion and to vote. Whether or not we choose to
exercise these rights is the decision that every American citizen makes. Participating in our government is the single most important power that we as
Americans have. Whether it is to elect officials or to amend a law, voting is not only a necessity, but a responsibility. It is frightening how many of us
today have closed ourselves off from the so–vital process of learning about candidates for office and making our voting selections based on actual
information (as opposed to sound bites and attack ads) and/or not voting at all.

Currently, there are 17 states allowing certain elections to be held by mail. As of today, there are 27 states that offer "no–excuse" absentee voting,
allowing any registered voter to request an absentee ballot without requiring that the voter state a reason for his/her desire to vote absentee. (Wendy
Underhill)
If you are not going to participate in electing the officials, then you should not have the opportunity or privilege in criticizing how they do their job.
Some people argue that non–voters do not vote because they are happy with the government. This does not seem to be the case. The 1996 National
Election Study showed that nonvoters were less positive than voters.
There are a variety of characteristics between nonvoters and voters. Citizens with a college degree are more likely to vote than people without a
college degree. Older people are also more likely than younger people to vote. Polls show that young people are more dissatisfied with the
government than older citizens are. Then why don't younger people vote? Some do not vote because they do not know who to vote for. A quarter of
nonvoter's will lie on polls saying that they did vote. If you are going to be ashamed by not voting and afraid to tell someone why, then you should
vote. It is very simple. Democracy is starting to be weakened by low turnout at the polls. Steps need to be taken to help

Father Incarceration And Child Development: Article Summary
In the article "Beyond Absenteeism: Father Incarceration and Child Development", it discusses how father incarceration rates effects children
(Amanda Geller, 2012). This was similar to the study above. In this article the analysis came from the Fragile Families study. The Fragile Families
studies included around 5,000 couples with children that were born from 1998 to 2000 in twenty fairly large cities within the United States. The
parents were surveyed around the time of their child's birth and then there were follow–ups when the child was one, three, and also five years of age.
The findings were tied to aggression from the children. This resembles the above study, where children who were missing their father due to him being

It will be beneficial to criminal justice to see how children behave once their parent or parents are no longer in the picture. It could also lead to ways
in how to prevent criminal behavior from these offenders if it is found they are more likely to commit crime. It can helpful to the field of criminology in
how the theory of social control affects children with absentee parents. It could possibly explain why children commit crime once their parent or
parents are absent, and then find a possible solution to provide help for these children in the future. When dealing with sociology, we can look at how
these children behave without their parents, how these children interact within society. It will be beneficial to sociology by helping these experts in
this field having a better understanding of how an absentee parents affects children and their behaviors. Problems at home can include absent

how to get the proper help and resources for these children who may be at risk in becoming a criminal. Psychologists will benefit a great amount from

Voting Rights
The right to vote represents freedom and life. Voting is a significant right because people are voting to give people the right to make life changing
decisions over their lives. There was a time when everybody didn't have the right to vote. The history of voting caused a lot of inequality between
gender and races. Votinglaws has been changed to support equality between races and also allowed citizens to use utilize their voting power. Most of
the voting laws are still relevant in america today. Voting is a right available to everyone, but some American citizens don't utilize it. Consequently,
most voters lost confidence in the government to keep integrity during election time.
When America was founded in 1776, the only citizens who had a right to vote were white males. In 1787, federal voting standards weren't set
nationwide they varied from state to state. In 1830, numerous states removed property ownership and religion as stipulation for voting. In 1868, the
14th amendment passed allowing blacks to be recognized as citizens and allowing black men to vote but not without prejudice from state officials.
Slaves had no voting rights when they were first brought to America. In a web article Theodore R. Johnson states, "Under the constitution an African
American slave was originally counted as three–fifths of a person for the purpose of determining a state's electoral vote count and House
representation". That boosted the power of slaves states in the federal

Thesis On Attendance Checking System
Attendance checking system is a system for checking attendance of students at the University of Sulaimaniyah. This system is an improvement of the
previous attendance checking system where it uses the implementation of the QR–code system.
The following outlines how the previous system works:
1)A teacher reads the names of students from a list.
2)If there is any absentees list, the teacher will record the students by putting an "A" behind their names. A is indicate "Absent".
3)After checking the attendance list, the teacher enters each absent student's name on a small paper form.
4)The attendance form is then passed to the system manager. The primary role of the system manager is to double check the list and enters all absentee

filled and checked by teacher and system manager. Although the system is work step by step, it still has a few problems that interrupt the performance
of the attendance checking system. The problems are:
The process is performed very slowly.
The mistakes in absentee rate might be occurred as the paper form can be lost.
In some cases, some teachers have problem of writing the student's name correctly. This is mean wrong spelling or bad handwriting which leads to
difficulty for the system manager to enter the data.
The form is sometimes incomplete where some fields cannot be completed such as date, subject name, teacher name and section.
The system manager may make mistakes when calculating the absentee rate for each student. However, the calculation process is quite involved
because there is a significant amount of addition, division and multiplication.
Students may not see the notice board that announces the attendance warnings.
The paper form may not have enough space to record all absent students'

As a result of the slave legacy and the influence of the African culture, Caribbean families are affected the most by absentee fathers. The living
conditions of the slaves also took away their opportunity of having normal family functions. Black men were stripped away from their rights by the
slave masters who dehumanized them in an effort to break their will. They were forced to work long hours – up to eighteen (18) hours per day. Slave
families were broken up when taken captive, and children who were born on the plantations were sometimes sold to other slave owners. In addition,
the slave masters had many "sex farms" where strong black men were used as "breeders." They were forced to copulate with different women to
produce strong males

Voting In Presidential Elections Essay
Introduction
The Constitution excludes a substantial number of American citizens from the democratic process. Approximately four million Americans residing in
the U.S. territories lack voting rights and full voting representation in Congress; consequently, creating a second–class citizenship with partial
constitutional rights. These policies articulate the historically silenced voices of the people of the U.S. territories by their "democratic" government.
However, amending the Constitution does not come without consequence: political pressures will maintain U.S. territory policy, fostering resentment
and inequality, and lowering the standards necessary to sustain a democratic society, leaving the people of the U.S. territories less efficient... Show

Absenteeism In Beyond Massa
The book entitled "Beyond Massa – Sugar Management in British Caribbean, 1770–1834", was written by Dr. John F. Campbell, a lecturer of History
at the University of the West Indies (Trinidad). The book provides a revisionist perspective of managerial strategies used on the sugar plantations and
outlines how important the relationship between the enslaved and the plantation managers are, to maximize production. Sugar was depicted as the main
source of commodity during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries and the book focuses mainly on the Golden Grove planation, in Jamaica to
highlight this. This plantation was owned by an absentee owner Chaloner Arcedekne, however, it was managed by his close friend, Simon Taylor. Dr.

John Campbell. By critically examining historical facts, he challenged the aspects of slavery with supporting evidence. Through his revisionist
perspective, readers can grasp the significant factors portrayed as he captures the essence of life on sugar plantations in the Caribbean. He also illustrates
how HRM strategies were used to assess them. The book reveals absenteeism as a normal trait of plantation owners, this was because they
preferred to live an elite lifestyle in London and hired managers to run their estates. Due to absenteeism, it reinforces why HRM strategies had to be
used by plantation managers. The corruption of power elites as well as the roll of females can relate to the Caribbean's present. As it shows how one

throughout the sugar plantation. In our present day, females are becoming stronger and are slowly rising to the stature of

The media can of course have good resources: education and entertainment, but at the same time can be very toxic to kids. It can result in destructive
mind–sets and berserk attitudes in both boys and girls. With the media, children are bombarded by sexual images, drugs and drinking day in and day
out. Popular children TV channels like Nickelodeon and the Disney channel have shows where kids are kissing and showing small suggestions of
sex. Kids are like sponges: they soak up everything they see, hear and learn. Those in the media need to understand that whatever they do is being
viewed by kids all over the world and they are thinking it's okay to behave in an inappropriate manner. The media is definitely one of the most dominant
encouragements to the fast maturity seen in the children of today.
It is no surprise that with the whole new world of technology young children nowadays are becoming more and more obsessive in this realm, both at

The Voting System Of Democracy
Elections give people a voice in order to choose their representatives in the government.
Democracy is a system of government in which the governed votes to elect people to represent them in the government. In a democracy, the people are
exercising their power directly to vote for propositions and measures that could create improvements for the country. Moreover, a democracy is
supposed to take into consideration the entire population and their opinion. However, not everyone in the country is eligible to vote. The founding
fathers established this kind of government in the U.S. in order to have the people in power instead of a monarchy. Although they used this system,
some of the founding fathers feared that the majority would take over. Due to this, America found it essential thatelections had to be free and fair. With
free and fair elections, the population's opinions are better represented. Also, no one is restricted from having a voice, which allows them to be part
of the democracy. Free elections have a great significance because poor individuals will also have a voice. Fair elections allow minorities to have an
equal voice as others. Due to the voting process, American elections are not free because people of color are spending too much time in long lines in
voting places who lack voting machines. The voting process also makes American elections less fair since the ballots are complicated, making it easy
for voters to make mistakes. The voting process makes American

Living In A Fatherless Family
We are living in a fatherless generation. It is common knowledge that the majority of those who grow up in single parent homes in the U.S. are raised
by the mothers– roughly 80% and roughly 20% are raised by the fathers (Census Bureau, 2009). With an estimated 17 million children fatherless in the
US (Census Bureau, 2009), some say it's a psychological epidemic. For this paper, fatherless will be defined as an absentee father who has not taken an
intentional role by being physically, and/or emotionally, mentally present in their child/ren's life. This may include but not limited to: death, divorce,
incarceration, pure abandonment, and/or other personal reasons.
While it is indeed true that not all who grow up without a father have the issues described below, the following studies and statistics do show the
effects and risk factors when a family structure lacks a father. It is also true that those who lack a father can become very successful and turn into
responsible and healthy individuals. While some may debate the case for nature/nurture in fatherless families, we will talk a look at specific studies and
statistics that show the correlation between fatherless families and education levels, incarceration rates, and social, mental, and emotional issues.
From even before birth, fathers have a vital role in their child/ren's life. A study of almost 1.4 million infants in Florida assessed how a lack of father
involvement impacted infant mortality (Journal of Community

Comprehensive School Counseling Program Evaluation Essay
In order to provide a comprehensive school counseling program (CSCP) that meets the unique needs of Ocean Elementary School, the school counselor
must understand the needs of the school. Therefore, conducting a needs assessment can help a new school counselor to evaluate the CSCP in order to

counseling program evaluation model, a continuous evaluation cycle helps to improve services based on stakeholder feedback, the needs of those

that address the needs of the students (Astramovich & Coker, 2007). Thus, by utilizing assessment questionnaires, the school counselor can gather
information from the diverse population of students, parents, teachers, and administrator to determine how the CSCP can best support all students'
needs (American School Counselor Association [ASCA], 2012). Additionally, the use of other data, such as observations, standardized test scores,

Benefits Of Absentee Voting
Absentee Ballot Absentee ballots became big in the 2016 presidential election. There were nearly 78,000 returning ballots for the state of South
Carolina in the Republican and Democratic parties. These numbers were double the numbers of the 2008 elections, which was also marked as a
record high turnout. Absentee ballots are used by an immense number of Americans in our society today. The absentee ballot process is quick and
easy and benefits everyone who is eligible for the ballot. Continuing this, an absentee ballot, as said in class, is a ballot that is mailed to voters who
are unable to attend the polls. The absentee ballot process gives people who are unable to present themselves at the polls a chance to express their

Granite people have to qualify for the ballot, but if they do qualify, I believe it's the best way to go. All the people have to do is check out the boxes
and then send the ballot back in. No one has to even leave their house to vote in an election if they are voting by absentee ballot. For example, if
someone is seventy–eight years of age and in a wheel chair they may apply for absentee ballot. The person in the wheel chair cannot drive himself to
the polls and vote that way, but he can use an absentee ballot and vote from his house. This is a prime example of why I believe that the absentee
ballot is a brilliant way for people who are unable to attend the polls, to

Daddy's Hands Research Paper
Daddy's Hands
Teenage girls' lives are shaped in many different ways. Everything is a big deal to a teenage girl; what she wears, what she participates in, and who
she dates. A girl's relationship with her father strongly influences her life. Whether the relationship with her father is good or bad, the daughter will be
effected by it. There are four main types of fathers: the Absentee Father, the Intermittent Father, the Abusive Father, and the Perfect Father. A father's
relationship with his daughter influences her opinion of men, therefore she judges every man based on her father's example. This impacts her dating
life, social life, and leads to more relationship issues with men throughout life. A girl's life is greatly impacted by her ... Show more content on

In an article about fathers leaving affecting his daughters, it says, "As the first man in her life, the young girl's father creates the prototype for her
ideal partner consciously and unconsciously. He goes on to be experienced by his pubescent daughter as the mirror on the wall––the ultimate reflection,
not only of her fairness but her desirability" (Kavanagh, 2002). A father is the man she loved first and is supposed to be a little girl's favorite man.
Her daddy is the person who is supposed to be there for her from the moment she is born, to the moment he dies. The Perfect Father is the most
important man in his daughter's life and is involved in all her decisions. This may cause the daughter to be indecisive because she relies too much
on her father. It may lead to the daughter comparing every man to her father, and some may not measure up. Some girls even look for a man to
marry that is exactly like her father. In my opinion, I think that having your father be the role model for a future husband is ideal. A girl is used to the
way her father acts and finding someone like him would be an easy transition. The Perfect Father may not always be the ideal father for everyone, but

Using Creative Problem Solving Assignment Analysis
Using Creative Problem Solving:
It is very challenging to be creative while you are under immense pressure. I know this far too well while working on various political campaigns.
My responsibilities as Absentee Ballot Coordinator required me to be creative as possible encouraging and collecting absentee ballots within a
specific timeframe. While working on Delegate Anderson's campaign, I had to engineer a way to deploy the greatest amount of absentee ballots while
maintaining an aggressive program to ensure these ballots were successfully submitted in before the deadline. I had immense pressure on me and my
program as I was reminded how the delegate squeezed victory from defeat in his first election because of absentee voting. I do not ... Show more

This was an amazing thing as it would be the first time I had complete control over the operations of a political campaign. This election was slated
to happen by way of a special election as the sitting Supervisor was up for a Judgeship and thusly had to vacate his political position. Knowing the
sitting Supervisor would have to vacate his position immediately after confirmation by the State Legislature and understanding Prince William
County's rule about having to fill a vacant Board seat within 60 days, I understood that we had a very small window to officially campaign for the
seat. I had to make sure we fundraised well, had the right materials, staff, and volunteers, acquired key business and political backing, and had
established a high name ID before the State did Judge confirmations. This would allow for a smooth and effective roll out of the Jacob's Campaign that
would ultimately secure victory. Thinking this process would only last around four months; I budgeted and created a campaign strategy for this time
frame. The problem came within the State Government. July 1st, 2014 was the deadline the State Legislature had to pass a budget or the Virginia
Government would shut down. This budget would include funding for new state judges thus allowing judicial appointments to occur igniting our race.

suicides and attempts occur within an hour of a crisis and are impulsive reactions to stress. Numerous studies indicate that while easy access to a lethal

African American Men Characteristics
To other people, the average black man is simple. Very athletic, not too bright, but very street smart. But in all actuality, an African American male is
much more than what meets the eye. There are many obvious traits that pertain to being classified as an African American man such as, skin tone and
lineage. Those are very broad characteristics though, there are many different black men and they are all special.
One first type of African American man that comes to mind of a stereotypical person is tall, buff, and very athletic. This man is classified as the
athlete and is only seen to as that and to others he holds no significant value off the field or court. He is the great person to win the championship and

Shawnee Tribe Research Paper
The Shawnee Tribe, since first encountering Europeans in 1677, the group has encountered issues, such as population decrease. But as of twenty–first
century, the tribe has regained a following. For the most part, the Shawnee have abandoned their nomadic roots. They have taken on modern tasks,
realizing that they would need to keep up with the times in order to survive. Currently occupying regions of Oklahoma and Missouri, the tribe has split
into three large groups, the Absentee Shawnee, Eastern Shawnee, and Loyal Shawnee. Together, the three groups have around 8,000 members in total.

The Eastern Shawnee also maintained partial ownership in several oil wells near the reservation. Each of the groups found ways to prosper, and in
doing so, they gained a following. Early 21st–century population estimates indicated some 12,000 individuals of Shawnee relations, by descent or
affiliation. The three main Shawnee groups are striving for economic self–sufficiency and they are meeting their goals. They are better off than many
tribes and have better housing, with casinos helping to fund programs to improve the lives of tribe members and provide employment for some of their
people. In spite of the fact that the Shawnee tribe has encountered firm improvements in the 21st Century, for example, a casino, school, and smoke

Voter Registration And Voting Registration
On November 8, citizens across the United States will have the opportunity to cast their vote to assist in deciding who will become the next leader
of our great nation. Voter registration is a critical prerequisite, and prospective voters must understand the applicable policies and procedures of
successful registration. Voting requirements may differ in each state, so it is important for a voter to be aware of these rules as well. Although
Pennsylvania and Maryland voter registration and voting rules are similar in some respects, there are key differences. In order to register to vote
in Pennsylvania, a person must be a citizen of the United States for one month prior to the election, a resident of Pennsylvania and the desired
election district, and eighteen years old on or before the election day. Pennsylvanians who wish to vote must register thirty days prior to the election.
To register to vote in Maryland, a person must be a United States citizen and a Maryland resident. However, unlike Pennsylvania, a person only has
to be sixteen years old to complete the voter registration process but may not vote until age eighteen. A citizen may not register to vote in Maryland
if he or she has been convicted of buying or selling votes. If an individual has been convicted of a felony and is currently serving a term of
imprisonment, he or she is also ineligible. The mentally disabled may not vote. In Maryland, the application for registration must be completed just

Trine's Voting System: A Case Study
As time goes on fewer and fewer people between the ages of 18 and 24 are paying attention to government activity. Many young people do not have
an active participation in government. They are unaware, unsure, and uninterested in what's going on with today's governing body. This is a problem
considering that those people are a large part of the future of this country. To solve this issue, modifications need to be made... changes that can start
right here on Trine's campus. Students cannot be expected to vote if they do not understand how the whole process works. They need to be made
more aware of the government's actions and how it actually works. The lack of involvement could be due to a lack of knowledge and therefore a lack
of participation.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Local speakers should be brought in to talk to Trine's students. These speakers could include local politicians giving information on their campaign or
just office holders wanting to get students involved. This would give the students an inside look to local campaigns. Speakers would also include
people coming to Trine to talk about local voting centers. They would explain where and how to find voting centers. For any students who aren't
Indiana residents they would be given information on absentee ballots. The cost of having these speakers come to campus will be very minimal if not
free. Most candidates or current officeholders would speak for no charge just to raise support for their campaign. By bringing in these kinds of
speakers it would inspire students to register, and then to vote when there are elections and laws being passed. For this solution to be implemented, it
would be necessary to meet with Deb McHenry, the Executive Director of Student Success and Retention at Trine University. She has the authority to
contact and organize speakers to come to Trine University. By bringing in speakers to talk about local voting centers and absentee ballots, it would
most likely make the students at Trine more motivated to

Father Absence And Its Consequences
Despite the fact that current research cannot prove the cause, there are three "converging lines of evidence" that a father's absence does place a
daughter at special risk for early sexual activity and teen pregnancy (Ellis et al., n.d.). In both of the U.S and New Zealand samples, there was a
"dose–response relationship between timing of onset of father absence and early sexual outcomes". The results showed that at an early age without a
father, girls had the highest rates of both early sexual activity and teen pregnancy, along with late absentee father girls, and lastly those with a present
father in their life. The predicting rates of teen pregnancy were seven to eight times higher among those whose father left them at an early age, however

The Problem Of Child Labor Laws Essay
i.In developing countries, such as in India, child are are forced to work, often as the result of a system of debt bondage where their family trades a
small amount of money with an individual and in return, their child is sent away to work, and some of these families will never see their child
again. Many of these children, due to the either the lack of regulation or as a result of a country simply "turning a blind eye to the reality of child
labor that violates child labor laws". As we saw in the video from class about the chocolate child labor farmers, many of these children engage in
backbreaking work, from sunrise to sunset, and as a result lose their childhood, their ability to go to school, their ability to play with other kids,
because of the debt bondage their family agreed to. This is what was experienced by Iqbal Masih. As a four year old boy, his parents sold him into
debt bondage for 600 rupees, or less than $6, to an employer who owned a carpet weaving business. Corsaro explains that child labor is especially
desired in the carpet weaving business "because they can squat easily, and their nimble fingers can make the smallest, tightest knots". He woke up
before dawn and made his way, bound in chains, down to the factory for work. He worked at that faculty for 6 years, working 12 hours a day,
everyday. At the age of ten, he found out that bonded labor was illegal, and tried to escape. After escaping, he made a decision to help others like him,

Absentee Voting in the United States
The U.S Constitution gives the states considerable latitude in the way of conducting elections. The American citizens have many opportunities to vote.
However, a turnout in American elections has dramatically decreased over the past several decades. In order to address this issue, majority of states
have allowed absentee voting reforms. These convenient reforms are thought to increase the voter turnout in the elections, as well as to reduce
administrative costs. There are several forms of absentee voting that are believed to improve overall voting quality. Permanent absentee voting is one of
them. This particular rule allows the voter to vote absentee without requesting an absentee ballot for each election (Sabato 2013, 98). Generally,
permanent absentee voting was available for military voter and individuals with disabilities in order to increase certain categories of voters. Currently,
According to National Conference of State Legislatures, every state permits an absentee ballot to certain voters. While 27 states allow no–excuse
absentee voting, in other 21 states the excuse is required. Eight states including Arizona, California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Hawaii, Montana,
New Jersey and Utah offer voters the option to register for no–excuse permanent absentee voter status. Five states such as Kansas, Massachusetts,
Minnesota, Missouri and West Virginia, allow permanent absentee voter status for voters with disability. While Alaska and Delaware offer

Saint Domingue Research Paper
Vladimir Lenin once said that "Freedom in capitalist society always remains about the same as it was in ancient Greek republics: Freedom for slave
owners." This was true in the literal sense in the French colony of Saint Domingue before the Haitian Revolution and in the metaphorical sense in
Russia before Lenin and his followers, the Bolsheviks took power. Saint Domingue's class structure was mainly based on one's race and Russia's
classes were largely based on one's wealth. This raises the question, how did the social status in Saint Domingue and Russia in the early 20th century
lead to revolution and influence the government systems that replaced them? In many cases the way in which people are oppressed determines what

The Consequences Of The Treaty Of Versailles
In 1919, the Allied victors in World War I met at the Paris Peace Conference to set the peace terms for the defeated Central Powers. The Allies
created the peace terms in the hope to create and maintain world peace. However, the Allies and Central Powers realized that the peace terms stated
in the Treaty of Versailles did not help to maintain world peace. When the Allies created the Treaty they designed it in a bad way. Rather than specific,
the Treaty didn't make much sense because it was wordy.John Maynard Keynes – an English economist – attended the Paris Peace Conference and
wrote the book The Economic Consequences of Peace in which he stated his opinion about the Treaty. In Thornstein Veblen's review of The Economic
Consequences of Peace he argues that Keynes withheld information about the consequences that the Treaty would cause. If Keynes would not have
withheld any information the economic downfall would not have happened. Keynes failed to include the consequences of the Treaty in his analysis
though, and failed to influence the Allies at the Paris Peace Conference. In Keynes analysis of the Treaty he did not include the consequence that the
Bolshevism would come to an end. At the Paris Peace Conference the Great Powers only agreed to eliminate the Bolshevism, other than that the Great
Powers could not agree on anything. They knew that it would be difficult to eliminate the Bolshevism in Soviet Russia, but the Great Powers thought it

Personal Narrative: Every Child Deserves A Father
This I Believe : Every Child Deserves a Father
I believe that no child shall be deprived of the right to have a father present in their life. I am strongly against the belief that a man can willingly
impregnate a women then later decide that he is not capable of being a father and simply be subject to pay child support. It is my strongest belief that
if you can lay down and fertilize a child then you can step up to the plate and be a parent regardless if an abortion was discussed or not.
As a child I never knew what it was like to have a father; subsequently, twenty one years later this feeling still persists. Many people do not know of
the hardships that I faced because of an absentee father, but for my mother? My mother always got ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although I handled having an absentee father fairly well as a child ––mainly gaining embarrassment whenever my sister spent weekends away with her
father or whenever father daughter functions came around at school–as an adolescent the lack of a father figure being present in my life showed. I
turned to marijuana, alcohol, and sex to feel the vacancy that replaced my father not being a shoulder to run to whenever things got tough. One might
argue that such activities can not be blamed on an absentee father, but for someone who has met many people that also partook in the same activities, I
can un–doubtfully tell you that we were just looking for someone or something to love us whenever our fathers would not.
The presence of a father in a child's life dictates how a child will function in society and how they will later parent their own children. Needless to say,
fathers are necessities to children's lives. This I know, this I believe, this I will instill in my children:

Persuasive Essay On Early Voting
When you think of America, what do you think of? Most people probably imagine an American Flag, maybe some are thinking of their home, but one
thing that will not be far from everyone's mind when they think of America, is democracy. Democracy is one of the foundations of our country, and is
one of the thousands of things that make America a free nation. Although America prides itself on freedom, specifically freedom of expression, only
about half of our citizens are taking part in their civic duty. There are many reasons for this, some that are unsolvable, but as a nation, we must do
better to make voting more readily available for all citizens. One way to do this, is to allow early voting. Currently, 37 states allow some form of
early voting, but Pennsylvania is not one of them (STATE LAWS GOVERNING EARLY VOTING.) I'm proposing for the Pennsylvania State
Government to take action, and allow early voting for the sake of their people.
The 2016 election was one that most would consider the most "in your face" election The United States has ever seen, and still only 55.7% of eligible
citizens voted (Bureau, US Census.) According to the Pew Research Center, the US ranks 31 out of 35 when compared to other developed nations
around the world (Pew Research.) As a country, ourvoter turnout is much lower than most other developed nations. In Pennsylvania specifically, we
rank just 23rd out of 50 states for voter turnout. Looking at the top ten states, (Minnesota, Louisiana,

The Absentee Father
In today's society, it is common for family units to be missing a member that was once the backbone of American families. This member was the
person who financially supported and provided for the remainder of the family, while also upholding the moral and religious values that the family
would abide by. This absent figure is most commonly known as the father. Statistics show that "an estimated 24.7 million children (33%) live absent
their biological father" ("The Consequences of Fatherlessness"). This means that approximately one in three children are fatherless. This startling fact
reigns prevalent all throughout the American nation. For the father to be missing from a child's life on a daily basis, there are various ways in which
the child can be affected. As time passes and society changes, the way in which afamily functions is continuing to evolve. The cause of the absentee
father is the result of various changes in society, many of which tie back to the evolution of economics in America. As the role of women in society
has changed, it has also caused the role of men to shift. Between 1948 and 2001, the amount of working women approximately doubled in size,
growing from under 33% to more than 60% ("The Changing Role of the Modern Day Father"). This dramatic growth occurred while also bringing
forth suspected results. As women began to increase in financial power, paternal financial support became less needed. When women began to depend
less on men, men did not feel the

Identification In Voting

  • 1. Identification In Voting Legislations are attempting to pass laws that prevent voters from showing a form of identification. Many including myself, think that voters should present a form of identification when voting no matter what. If people were not required to have a form of identification when voting than anyone, citizen or not would be able to vote. Also not having and ID. when voting could become advantageous for either Republicans or Democrats. We show some form of identification for smaller reasons, I don't see the positive outcomes, if any of not showing an ID. when voting. For as long as I can remember Identifications have been used to show, and verify one's identity, whether it is to buy a small box of cigarettes or get into a place, we must show and prove who are. There is really no excuse to not have an identification for something more important like voting. Voters should be required to show IDs when voting in person, so that no one can vote twice. It is pretty self–explanatory. Fraud within the elections is all too common, and having to show an Identification is a necessary risk we have to take to ensure that the person who wins, is the person everyone actually voted for. Rarely do we hear of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Apparently, African Americans and Hispanics are "more likely than whites to report transportation problems and bad time and location as reasons for not getting to the polls, while white voters were the most likely to cite disapproval of candidate choices (Weeks)." The surveys state that if a white citizen decides not to vote it is because they don't like the choices rather than having obstacles preventing them from voting like African Americans and Hispanics do. • 2. Voter Identification for Elections Since 2000 there has been a rampant increase in the number of states requiring voter identification (ID) for elections. By 2004, approximately 19 states had made it mandatory that some form of identification would be required. As this trend has remained largely consistent, so has the rationale behind implementation of these laws from its proponents. Proponents of voter identification and registration laws argue that these laws are necessary to minimize voter fraud and restore public confidence in elections (Goldstein 2006). For example, a 2005 U.S. Senate policy committee report claimed that "voter fraud continues to plague our nation's federal elections, diluting and canceling out the lawful votes of the vast majority of Americans" (US Senate Republican Policy Committee 2005:1). On the opposite side of the spectrum, opponents of voter identification and registration laws argue that these laws further marginalize the poor, minorities, and the elderly. They also posit that voter ID laws are useless if their intent is to decrease the amount of voter impersonation fraud because the occurrence of such is so rare. I will argue that if the intended outcome of voter ID laws is a reduction in voter fraud and a restoration of confidence in the public about fair elections, the evidence on this subject is scant and the evidence of the existence of voter impersonation fraud is even more slight. I will then go on to discuss the empirically substantiated effects of what voter ID ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Importance Of Absentee Voting As an African–American male in the United States of America, the opportunity to exercise my constitutional right to vote in the 2016 Presidential election was an honor. During this time, I was a first–year college student in another county in Texas; therefore, I decided to use an absentee ballot early on in the voting process. However, voting by an absentee ballot was a concern because I wanted to make sure that my vote counted. Nevertheless, as a new voter, I proceeded with filing in my absentee ballot, but still skeptical about the counting process. On November 8, 2016, imagine my surprise when I learned that Donald J. Trump was the next President of the United States of America. My initial reaction was "what the bleep is going on in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They further commented that when Obama was in office, they received much respect from our allies. Furthermore, under the Clinton administration, my mother, aunt and uncle recalled purchasing their first–time home with ease. During this time, you were able to apply for a mortgage without interest rates being determined by the color of your skin. However, two family members were not fans of the Clintons, especially Hillary, who described the African–American man as a "Super Predator", one shouted: "So what the hell do you call a white man who mass kills innocent school kids?" The essay will contrast and compare Pennsylvania and North Dakota voter's law, their eligibility requirements, their absentee ballot and more. Anyone in Pennsylvania and North Dakota can vote if they meet the voter's requirements. Pennsylvania and North Dakota have similar voter requirements; an individual must be at least eighteen years of age or older, must be resident of their county for at least thirty days before election day. For voting on election day North Dakota voters must include on their identification their name, their current street address and their date of birth. North Dakota utilizes photo–identification at the election, but it is not the only acceptable form of identification; whereas, Pennsylvania only require an acceptable form of identification for first time voter. Some examples are a Pennsylvania driver's license, student ID, United States passport, etc. Pennsylvania not having an in–person early voting is beneficial to the citizens because the state holds numerous amounts of citizens compared to North Dakota; it would be a hassle to hold multiple days for election instead of just one day. • 5. Essay on Voting should be an obligation not a choice Voting should be an obligation not an option Living in America gives each person individual freedom. The freedom is yours to express your own opinion and to vote. Whether or not we choose to exercise these rights is the decision that every American citizen makes. Participating in our government is the single most important power that we as Americans have. Whether it is to elect officials or to amend a law, voting is not only a necessity, but a responsibility. It is frightening how many of us today have closed ourselves off from the so–vital process of learning about candidates for office and making our voting selections based on actual information (as opposed to sound bites and attack ads) and/or not voting at all. There are many ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Currently, there are 17 states allowing certain elections to be held by mail. As of today, there are 27 states that offer "no–excuse" absentee voting, allowing any registered voter to request an absentee ballot without requiring that the voter state a reason for his/her desire to vote absentee. (Wendy Underhill) If you are not going to participate in electing the officials, then you should not have the opportunity or privilege in criticizing how they do their job. Some people argue that non–voters do not vote because they are happy with the government. This does not seem to be the case. The 1996 National Election Study showed that nonvoters were less positive than voters. There are a variety of characteristics between nonvoters and voters. Citizens with a college degree are more likely to vote than people without a college degree. Older people are also more likely than younger people to vote. Polls show that young people are more dissatisfied with the government than older citizens are. Then why don't younger people vote? Some do not vote because they do not know who to vote for. A quarter of nonvoter's will lie on polls saying that they did vote. If you are going to be ashamed by not voting and afraid to tell someone why, then you should vote. It is very simple. Democracy is starting to be weakened by low turnout at the polls. Steps need to be taken to help ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Father Incarceration And Child Development: Article Summary In the article "Beyond Absenteeism: Father Incarceration and Child Development", it discusses how father incarceration rates effects children (Amanda Geller, 2012). This was similar to the study above. In this article the analysis came from the Fragile Families study. The Fragile Families studies included around 5,000 couples with children that were born from 1998 to 2000 in twenty fairly large cities within the United States. The parents were surveyed around the time of their child's birth and then there were follow–ups when the child was one, three, and also five years of age. • 7. Voting Rights The right to vote represents freedom and life. Voting is a significant right because people are voting to give people the right to make life changing decisions over their lives. There was a time when everybody didn't have the right to vote. The history of voting caused a lot of inequality between gender and races. Votinglaws has been changed to support equality between races and also allowed citizens to use utilize their voting power. Most of the voting laws are still relevant in america today. Voting is a right available to everyone, but some American citizens don't utilize it. Consequently, most voters lost confidence in the government to keep integrity during election time. When America was founded in 1776, the only citizens who had a right to vote were white males. In 1787, federal voting standards weren't set nationwide they varied from state to state. In 1830, numerous states removed property ownership and religion as stipulation for voting. In 1868, the 14th amendment passed allowing blacks to be recognized as citizens and allowing black men to vote but not without prejudice from state officials. Slaves had no voting rights when they were first brought to America. In a web article Theodore R. The media can of course have good resources: education and entertainment, but at the same time can be very toxic to kids. It can result in destructive mind–sets and berserk attitudes in both boys and girls. With the media, children are bombarded by sexual images, drugs and drinking day in and day out. Popular children TV channels like Nickelodeon and the Disney channel have shows where kids are kissing and showing small suggestions of sex. Kids are like sponges: they soak up everything they see, hear and learn. Those in the media need to understand that whatever they do is being viewed by kids all over the world and they are thinking it's okay to behave in an inappropriate manner. The media is definitely one of the most dominant encouragements to the fast maturity seen in the children of today. It is no surprise that with the whole new world of technology young children nowadays are becoming more and more obsessive in this realm, both at school and at home. Due to the massive influence of technology, children are learning more, forcing them to grow up quickly and take on a lot more than past generations did. Research taken by Internet security company AVG shows that "more small children can play a computer game than ride a bike. 58% of children aged 2–5 know how to play a 'basic' computer game. • 17. The Voting System Of Democracy Elections give people a voice in order to choose their representatives in the government. Democracy is a system of government in which the governed votes to elect people to represent them in the government. In a democracy, the people are exercising their power directly to vote for propositions and measures that could create improvements for the country. Moreover, a democracy is supposed to take into consideration the entire population and their opinion. However, not everyone in the country is eligible to vote. The founding fathers established this kind of government in the U.S. in order to have the people in power instead of a monarchy. Although they used this system, some of the founding fathers feared that the majority would take over. Due to this, America found it essential thatelections had to be free and fair. With free and fair elections, the population's opinions are better represented. Also, no one is restricted from having a voice, which allows them to be part of the democracy. Free elections have a great significance because poor individuals will also have a voice. Fair elections allow minorities to have an equal voice as others. Due to the voting process, American elections are not free because people of color are spending too much time in long lines in voting places who lack voting machines. The voting process also makes American elections less fair since the ballots are complicated, making it easy for voters to make mistakes. The voting process makes American ... They also speak English and another language called Yuchi. As of 2006 around 200 to 800 people still speak the Shawnee language in Oklahoma. The Absentee Shawnee tribe is one of the many Native American Tribes in the state of Oklahoma. Like most of the other tribes in America, they faced unsettling times but today they are well recognized. During the American Revolutionary War several peace–seeking Shawnee traveled from Ohio to Arkansas, Texas, and Spanish Louisiana Territory, ending up settling around what today is Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Later they were joined by other Shawnee who came from Alabama and Ohio. In 1825 the United States offered the tribe a reservation in Kansas in exchange for the lands that they occupied. Instead, by 1840 most of the scattered Shawnee tribes had ended up migrating to the Indian territory in present day Oklahoma. They settled along the Canadian River in the Choctaw and Creek nations. • 19. Living In A Fatherless Family We are living in a fatherless generation. It is common knowledge that the majority of those who grow up in single parent homes in the U.S. are raised by the mothers– roughly 80% and roughly 20% are raised by the fathers (Census Bureau, 2009). With an estimated 17 million children fatherless in the US (Census Bureau, 2009), some say it's a psychological epidemic. For this paper, fatherless will be defined as an absentee father who has not taken an intentional role by being physically, and/or emotionally, mentally present in their child/ren's life. This may include but not limited to: death, divorce, incarceration, pure abandonment, and/or other personal reasons. While it is indeed true that not all who grow up without a father have the issues described below, the following studies and statistics do show the effects and risk factors when a family structure lacks a father. It is also true that those who lack a father can become very successful and turn into responsible and healthy individuals. While some may debate the case for nature/nurture in fatherless families, we will talk a look at specific studies and statistics that show the correlation between fatherless families and education levels, incarceration rates, and social, mental, and emotional issues. From even before birth, fathers have a vital role in their child/ren's life. • 20. Comprehensive School Counseling Program Evaluation Essay In order to provide a comprehensive school counseling program (CSCP) that meets the unique needs of Ocean Elementary School, the school counselor must understand the needs of the school. Therefore, conducting a needs assessment can help a new school counselor to evaluate the CSCP in order to plan, implement, and improve the effectiveness of the program (Astramovich & Coker, 2007). Additionally, utilizing the accountability bridge counseling program evaluation model, a continuous evaluation cycle helps to improve services based on stakeholder feedback, the needs of those served, and outcomes (Astramovich & Coker, 2007). Within this model, a needs assessment must be conducted in order to plan and develop services that address the needs of the students (Astramovich & Coker, 2007). Thus, by utilizing assessment questionnaires, the school counselor can gather information from the diverse population of students, parents, teachers, and administrator to determine how the CSCP can best support all students' needs (American School Counselor Association [ASCA], 2012). Additionally, the use of other data, such as observations, standardized test scores, absentee rates, and student referrals can support the feedback received on the questionnaires. Based on the data, the school counselor can evaluate the school counseling program in order to improve the program in the domain areas of academic, social/emotional, and career development. There were nearly 78,000 returning ballots for the state of South Carolina in the Republican and Democratic parties. These numbers were double the numbers of the 2008 elections, which was also marked as a record high turnout. Absentee ballots are used by an immense number of Americans in our society today. The Problem Of Child Labor Laws Essay i.In developing countries, such as in India, child are are forced to work, often as the result of a system of debt bondage where their family trades a small amount of money with an individual and in return, their child is sent away to work, and some of these families will never see their child again. Many of these children, due to the either the lack of regulation or as a result of a country simply "turning a blind eye to the reality of child labor that violates child labor laws". As we saw in the video from class about the chocolate child labor farmers, many of these children engage in backbreaking work, from sunrise to sunset, and as a result lose their childhood, their ability to go to school, their ability to play with other kids, because of the debt bondage their family agreed to. This is what was experienced by Iqbal Masih. As a four year old boy, his parents sold him into debt bondage for 600 rupees, or less than $6, to an employer who owned a carpet weaving business. Democracy is one of the foundations of our country, and is one of the thousands of things that make America a free nation. Although America prides itself on freedom, specifically freedom of expression, only about half of our citizens are taking part in their civic duty.
