3. WHAT DOES IT DO?
It extracts the nutrients
from the food .
It expels the waste
products that our body
does not need .
4. HOW DOES IT WORKS ?
1 . In the mouth , the teeth chew
the apple.The salivary glands
produce saliva and saliva
mixes with the food and
produce a bolus 1
2.Then the bolus goes to the 2
oesophagus
5. 3.Next the bolus reaches the
stomach
4.The gastric juices break down
the bolus and transform it into
a thick liquid.
5.The gastric juices also kill the
dangerous bacteria
6. 6.The bile produced by the
liver and the pancreatic juices
mixes with the thick liquid .
7.Then this mixture goes to the
small intestine , where the
liver blood vessels
absorb the nutrients .
pancreas
7. 8.The circulatory system carries
the nutriens to all parts of our
body
9.The lage intestine:
a)Stores the waste products that
we don´t need.
b)Absorbs water.
10. WHAT DOES THE BLOOD DO?
It carries oxygen and nutriens
to all parts of the body
It collects carbon dioxide that
we don`t need
11. ELEMENTS OF THE BLOOD
PLASMA:
It is like the water in a river . All
the elements are floating in it.
RED BLOOD CELLS :
They transport oxygen and
carbon dioxide and turn the
blood red .
12. WHITE BLOOD CELLS:
They protects us from
bacterias,illnesses,infections,e
ct.
PLATELETS:
When we have an injury they
joint togather and close that
injury making a blood clot.
13. TYPES OF BLOOD VESSELS
ARTERIES:
They carry oxygen .
VEINS:
They carry carbon dioxide.
CAPILLARIES:
They connect veins and
arteries.
14. THE HEART
-It is a hollow muscle .
-It is divided into four chambers : left
atrium and right ventricle .
-It pumps blood between 60 and 100
times per minute
-It goes faster when we do exercise
because the body needs more
oxygen
-The smaller an animal is, the faster it
goes
