It means how easy it is to
scratch a mineral.
Talc is the softest material
because it is very easy to
scratch.
Diamond is the hardest
material. It is impossible
to scratch.
6. LUSTRE
It means how a mineral
reflects the light.
Galena has a metallic
lustre.
Calcite has a non-
metallic lustre.
