Violation Of Drug Testing
Some people may say that mandatory drug testing is a violation of the athletes' Fourth Amendment
right. According to some people, these tests are unnecessary and therefore violate these rights. The
author of "Mandatory Drug Testing Violates Rights" believes that drug testing is a violation of the
Fourth Amendment of the Constitution; "Courts have ruled that drug tests are a search. A search is a
privacy issue, and there has to be a reason for the search." This is true. Drug tests are a search, and
in some cases they may violate the rights of some citizens. Professional athletes, on the other hand,
do not get their rights violated by this. This does not violate the Fourth Amendment because the
athletes have already agreed to the rules of participating in the sport. Deborah Lee and Ann
Griswold, authors of "Point: Athletes Should be Tested for Drugs" explains that "in none of these
cases have athletes' Constitutional rights been abrogated because the participation in athletic events
is always voluntary and never mandatory. The 'mandate' only comes into play after the athlete has
agreed to participate, thereby voluntarily agreeing to obey the rules of the sport." This explains how
the athletes have agreed to the rules of the activity, which in most cases prohibit the use of many
performance enhancing substances, so since they have agreed to these conditions, the mandatory
drug testing of athletes is not a violation of their rights. An athlete's rights are not being violated by

There are Bocce balls, generally eight 8 in number with bocce ball set. The bocce balls have

Pallino:
We all know that the sport of bocce balls is useless if there is no pallino. This makes it an essential

Examples Of A Moral Theory
A moral theory has an explanation of what makes an action correct. Great example is the right to
own property. On the other hand a moral code are rules to live by. For instance, the ten
commandments stated by the Catholic Church. Needless to say, these are both examples of codes
and theory I was raised to believe in. "Nature human beings obviously need natural resources in
order to survive." (Edward Feser) In this article, Edward made a connection with how owning
property should be a natural law for human beings, to better society. For instance, without the right
to own property there is no incentive to create property; and if there's no incentive then how can
society advance? In all owning property can benefit everyone in advancing in wealth, status, and
education. This is why many people including myself have lived by this theory. I was taught at a
young age that owning property was our right for a successful future. In fact, my parents have lived
by this philosophy and ended with successful stakes that have been used on their retirement.
Through adopting this theory they moved their class status to middle class. In doing so, they have
better opportunities and earned a higher income. Meanwhile, Im adopting this theory which has
proven factual in my families life. I have started small ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

commandments state general rules that help someone stay in the right path. As a child I did what I
was told and followed these by heart. Now as an adult and a parent it is very difficult to do so. I
believe in questioning theories, rules, statements, etc. So as an adult it's hard to believe these
commandments and follow them because a religion tells me to do so. I prefer dissecting each one
and following the ones that I have reasoned to believe can turn me into a positive

Democracy And The Liberal Democracy
Democracy varies in every country depending on the type of government or regime they have. There
is the liberal democracy, which is all about giving people their rights and liberties; everything is
done through fair voting and electing. The people are aware of everything that happens in their
government. Illiberal democracies are basically the same as liberal, but the people in power are
more secretive of their activities, and there is less civil liberty. It is essentially a partial democracy.
Now Authoritarian regimes designate any political system that concentrates power in the hands of
one leader or a small elite. There are no free elections and very little regard for the law. Political
institutions, social structures, and the democratic rule of law all affect liberal, illiberal, and
authoritarian regimes democratic quality differently. First, liberal democracies are more open with
the people. The philosophical traditions of a liberal democratic republic are democracies, liberalism,
and republicanism. Democracies try to be equal with all, it stresses public rights, it reaches for what
the majority wants, and it is very protective against authoritarianism. In liberalism, natural rights
can't be violated, private rights are very important, no one is above the law, and the government has
no rights. In republicanism the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. The chief
executive is chosen through lections, and every citizen has their right to vote. Political

What Is Utilitarianism?
Utilitarianism is a theory in ethics that believes in maximizing happiness for the purpose of
satisfying people. The theory simultaneously brings happiness and consequences. Even though it
may have consequences, it is said to bring happiness to the majority of people. However, the
meaning behind this principle is vague because doing things to maximize happiness may be right or
wrong under some circumstances. However, the idea of utilitarianism is narrowed down into two
different types: act and rule. Act utilitarianism is a theory that states that a person's act is morally
right "if and only if" it produces as much happiness as any other actions a person could take at that
time. An example of this is going to the movies versus going to the orphanage to do charity service.
According to act utilitarianism, if you were to choose from these actions, going to the orphanage to
do charity service is morally right because you can produce "more overall happiness in the world".
On the other hand, rule utilitarianism is another form of utilitarianism that says that an action is the
right decision as long as it agrees to a rule that leads to a greater good. It is said ... Show more

If the majority like homosexuality, then it is acceptable since Utilitarians, as said before, do not
focus on whether something is right or wrong; they are only motivated to maximize happiness. If the
case is different, then it is consider inacceptable. Also, as said before, Act and Rule utilitarians have
different views. Act utilitarians believe that if homosexuality does not bring the greatest amount of
people happiness, then it is considered bad. Rule utilitarians accept these actions since human rights
are considered one of the moral rules for them. On the other hand, Libertarians accept
homosexuality because it is a situation where an individual has a right to express their feelings,
which is based on the idea of

Machiavelli 's Views On Nature Of Good Rule Essay
Both Locke and Machiavelli share the philosophy of improving the establishment but their point of
views regarding the nature of good rule varies. Machiavelli presents a rather extreme notion of the
Prince disregarding individual rights for the benefit of the principality. He justifies these violations
of rights, by implementing that it is necessary in order to maintain order and power. Machiavelli's
idea of the nature of good rule benefited the society of that specific time period through the means
of letting human nature take rule of the principality. Locke on the other hand, argues that people
need absolute control over the establishment in order to maintain order and equality. This argument
is derived from the concept of the good rule of nature. In a conversation between both men, Locke
would achieve the greater argument when it comes the nature of good rule but does not do so
without certain restraints. These restraints will be pointed out by Machiavelli and a counter
argument will be presented by Locke, which justifies his theories and strengthens his argument
regarding the nature of good rule. Machiavelli begins his argument, by justifying an authoritarian
governing system by the means of hereditary rule. He believes that people always comply with The
Princes rule because they act on love. Machiavelli explains this when he states that, "The hereditary
prince has less cause and less necessity to offend, hence it happens that he will be more loved" (The
prince, 3). For

The Following Report Will Be Discussing The Implementation
The following report will be discussing the implementation of 'Golden rules' in the practitioner's
setting to help manage and support the behaviour of children aged three to five years old. The need
for this implementation was discovered through a SWOT analysis the practitioner conducted
keeping in focus the safety of the children. A Swot analysis is a tool used to identify an organisation
or settings strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (ODI, 2009). The strengths and
weaknesses are related to internal factors whereas, opportunities and threats are the external factors
(Development Impact and You, 2017).

There are a few reasons for having golden rules in the setting the first to help manage the behaviour
of the children which is a requirement from the EYFS (2017), as this will ensure the safety of others.
Secondly, to help the children to respect one another with is one of the characteristics of the British
Values (Citizen Foundation, 2017). Lastly, and most importantly is help provide a safer environment
for all the children. To see how the practitioner is aiming to implement the golden rules please see
appendix two.
The practitioner decided implement golden rules with the support of the children as this will make it
more meaning full for the children. The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child
(UNCRC), is a legally–binding international agreement which states in article 12 state that children
should be given the right to voice their views and their views should be listened to (Unicef, 2017).
Taking article 12 into consideration the practitioner plans to involve the children by asking them
what rules they would like to set for their room, allowing the children to express their views and
feelings. By allowing children to make decisions in what their golden rules should be the
practitioner will be incorporating the characteristic of democracy from the 'British Values', (Citizen
Foundation, 2017).
Main Outcomes
The practitioner has implemented philosopher Donald Schon's (1983) theory of reflection on action

The Similarities Between Ethical Capitalism And Act...
Act Utilitarianism plays an important role on maximizing benefits for the most people. The moral
worth of any action is judged by how much the benefits gained for all perceptive beings. While
some individuals may suffer from these actions, utilitarianism holds that the conduct may still be
ethical if it does more good for a greater number of people than it harms. Ethical egoism holds that
moral conduct ought to be judged through self–interest. Ethical egoism states that the good
consequences for the individual outweigh the consequences placed upon others. In egoism, actions
could be considered ethical for the individual if the one taking the action is benefited, while any
benefit or detriment to the welfare of others is a side effect and not as important as the consequences
for the individual. The similarity between act utilitarianism and ethical egoism are both contained
large number of sub–theories within each branch which are the value placed between the individual
and others. Both ethical egoism and act utilitarianism are allow an individual to put himself or
herself first in determining the right action to take in a particular situation whether the particular
action is right or wrong. This is different from pure selflessness which ... Show more content on

correct action is the one that leads to the greatest increase in total happiness among the parties

the other hand, an individual has a greater value than others in ethical egoism Therefore, it is ethical
to act in own self–interest even if it may potentially harm others. Act utilitarianism is different from
ethical egoism by saying personal own utility is no more valuable than anyone

How Did The Right Of The Government Change The Power Of...
The world is always changing, people, ideas, and new rules. The way people think and what they
want in life change as they age and as new progress is made. Therefor, government should be
changed when its ideals no longer aline with that of the peoples. The right of the government to rule
over people should come from the people's approval. If people do not agree with their government
they have the right to change their government. This right has changed history all over the world.
Without this right the power of the government may be in the hands of a single ruler or monarch
who has no interest in their people's wants or needs, and when this power falls into the wrong hands
the people of a country have the right to take this power away and end the trynary in their country

There have been many instances in history where the people have successfully caused a change in
their government. The Declaration of Independence calls on this right when they broke away from
England and formed their own government. England has also used the right to alter government
when dethroning king Charles I during the English Civil War. Charles's belief of absolute power in a
sole monarch was countered by Parliament, who won the war, wanting to rule over the English
government. Giving Parliament the power to rule over the English government was a great change
to how the country was ruled, and creating the Commonwealth of England. These are not the only
instances in which the people's power to alter the government has changed history forever, but they
are two times the people have changed their country

Trunk Rotation Essay
Clinicians frequently assess movement performance during a trunk rotation task to observe
19 biomechanical deficits. The degeneration of the sensory (Brumagne et al., 2004) and motor
systems (Horak et
20 al., 1989) is inevitable as age increases; thereby altered movement and/or postural control in
older adults is
21 apparent.(Pyykko et al., 1990) For example, compared to younger adults, older adults show less
rotational

2009) during

No Left Hand Rule In Guatemalan Essay
I'm from Senegal, a country in West Africa, located in the westernmost point of the continent, and as
we may know, Africa is a land of culture and diversity. To that adds ethnic, religious and
superstitious beliefs. There are many things unique to the heritage of Senegal. One of the most
important one is the "no left hand rule", a superstition strongly influenced by religion.
The Senegalese people are very superstitious. As the vast majority of the population in Senegal is
Muslim, this means that traditional Islamic rules, lifestyles and beliefs are followed by many people.
Of these rules, it is considered very disrespectful and rude to use your left hand to eat or even greet
anyone with. For example, in a conventional Senegalese household, people share food on one big
bowl because they believe it betters the relationships of the ones eating it. However, the people
eating will feel very offended if anyone puts there left hand in the bowl and might refuse to keep
eating due to the negativity they believe it might bring. To them the left hand doesn't represent
anything positive; hence you shouldn't eat, drink or greet people with your left hand. Even when
cooking, it's advised to limit the use of the left hand. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also the left hand is used in the toilet to wipe oneself, therefore making it unholy and unclean in
Islamic related cultures. The left hand is not used is many different cases due to the various stigmas
it carries. That particular superstition comes from religion as it states in the Holy Quran that the
prophet said: "O young boy, say the name of Allah and eat with your right hand, and eat from what
is nearest to you". Nevertheless, eating with your left hand might not be considered bad or unholy in
these following cases: not being able to use your right hand after an injury or when you're

Exclusionary Rule Pros And Cons
The Exclusionary rule, as defined in our Criminal Justice Book: 7e, is the principle that illegally
obtained evidence must be excluded from trial. If any evidence, that falls within the field of the
exclusionary rule, is found that would otherwise not have been found by law enforcements, the rule
applies to linked evidence found and all the evidence after. This after evidence is often referred as
"fruit of the poisonous tree." The exclusionary rule is also looked at in a way to block law
enforcement officers from handling searches and/or seizures, a violation of the fourth amendment,

European countries such as France, Germany or Italy they have problems with driving their car to

most suitable to argue of which side of the road should driver to drive on theirs cars. This model is
best defined as an action is right if it is in harmony with a moral rule or the code of principle. Let's
take the rule or an example, every driver of England will drive on the right hand side of the road in

Recently the Supreme Court made specific rulings on the second amendment following the cases

it so that registrations of most handguns were prohibited. This therefore making it illegal to own

court claiming that the ban on hand guns made it so that they were exposed to criminals therefore
they couldn't protect them self. The group filed a claim that there second and fourteenth amendment

My Career As A Student Teacher
I officially began my career as a student teacher in Spanish on August 25, 2014 at Memorial High
School in Smallville, Ohio. I work under the guidance of Mrs. Santer, my mentor teacher, who has

Mrs. Santer's classroom is just what you would expect a world language classroom to look like:

about traveling to different Latin American countries. Perpendicular to the magazine rack is a table
containing a stapler, three–hole punch, tape, pencils, crayons, colored pencils, hand cream, and
paper. The items on this desk are for the use of the students.
Technology's presence in the classroom is marked by a TV and DVD player that are mounted in the
front right corner of the room, directly above Mrs. Santer's desk. There is also a computer, about
three years old, on her desk. Both of these items are standard in every classroom. In addition,
Wayne–Westland Community Schools has implemented an electronic grading and attendance

teachers to submit grades and attendance electronically.

her classes, but one obstacle stands in her way of complete preparation: the technical service
workers have removed Adobe Acrobat from all of the computers in network so she is unable to print

The Pros And Cons Of The Fourth Amendment
The Fourth Amendment, a portion of the Bill of Rights, was ratified on December fifteenth seventy
ninety–one. The Bill of Rights introduces the Fourth Amendment as The right of the people to be
secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall
not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or
affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be
seized. (The National Constitution Center, 2016) Not only does this right protect the people as well
as the police officers from perilous situations it also puts limitations in place by removing a small
amount of power from the police. For the police to search and seize people, their property, or their
homes they must first obtain a warrant. Even though there is a great deal of circumstances where
warrants are not required, most searches and seizures will require a warrant that is often cleared by a
judge first. For the judge to justify the search or seizure law enforcement must show probable cause.
American citizens often feel secure when learning about the exclusionary rule in addition to the
Fourth Amendment because it suppresses the United States government's control; Still, there have
been times when American citizens were not thoroughly protected by the Fourth Amendment. The

Pros And Cons Of Death Punishment
In terms of the death penalty, certain crimes do deserve this punishment, under specific
circumstances. Heinous crimes, such as the murder of the 1st and 2nd degree and rape, should be
punishable by death. However, this punishment shall only occur so long as the criminal(s) pass both
the M'Naghten Rule and the Durham Rule. In the gruesome murders of the Clutters' family, Perry
Edward Smith and Richard Eugene Hitchcock were both deemed perfectly sane under both rules,
showing that both men deserved the death penalty. Although there is plenty of proof that Hitchcock
was sane, there is also enough evidence to prove that Smith was mentally unstable. Due to this
evidence, Hitchcock rightfully got what he deserved, while Smith was wrongfully done. According
to Cornell Law School, the M'Naghten Rule is when a defendant is claimed to be innocent when "at
the time of committing the act, the accused was laboring under such a defect of reason, from disease
of the mind, as not to know the nature and quality of the act he was doing or, if he did know it, that
he did not know what he was doing was wrong"("Insanity Defense"). In Layman's terms, an accused
is deemed innocent if he/she does not know right from wrong and/or does not know what he/she is

Persuasive Essay On Breaking Rules
Kim Harrison say that " Breaking rules isn't bad when what you're doing is more important than the
rule itself." In discussion of rebellion, one controversial issue has been showing that everyone's
bewilderment. On the one hand, people argued that it is unsuitable to infringe the rules. On the other
hand, people demonstrate that it is justified to contravene the rules. However, I believe that it is right
to break the rules when it support a cause you believe in, unfairly and understandable. One key
reason why we should break the rules when it supports a cause that you believe in, a cause that is
right because you believe, in your opinion, defying authority may help other people. One clear
example of this is from the text, " Hunger games." Katniss breaks several rules to help her people
and her family. To understand why Katniss breaks the rules is because her people live in a oppressed
life in a society by all the specific rules like weapon not allow, hunting not allow, and you can not go
in the wood to pay or sell food. Katniss have to ignore the rules go in the wood, hunt and trade food
so her family can have food to survive. Another strong example is from "The Montgomery Bus
Boycott," when Rosa Parks break the rules on the bus, don't give up her seat on the bus because
white people in texas being racist which mean black people have to give up their seat for white
people. Rosa park shirk the law and justify for her people. To better understand in that situation is
because when other people life in danger you believe that you should stand up and speak for them as
a hero. There are many people life get in danger or dead because no one believed themself or wanted
to stand up and speak for other people. This historical document illustrates that we should help other
people when we think our believe is not wrong. Another important reason when is it right to break
the rules is when it unfairly. One significant example is that from the text article title "Marriage is a
Private Affair." Nnaemeka rebel against the rules which mean he don't listen to his dad and married
someone else in the cosmopolitan atmosphere of the city not in the Ibo tribe where his dad live. In
many countries, all over the world, there are

Deontological Code Of Ethics Essay
1. Define the term ethics. Ethics is the study of human behavior and the morality of each individual.
2. Define the terms deontology (deontological approach) and teleology (teleological approach).
Deontology: is the act of doing the right thing no matter what the consequences are. For example, if
an individual has a family member that killed someone then, it is his/her duty to go against the
family member to say the truth. Even though it is bad to go against a family member, according to
the deontological approach, it is doing the right thing. This individual is doing the right thing
because he/she is not hiding anything, he/she is being truthful, and he/she is being honest.
Teleology: is the act of doing the right thing depending what the ... Show more content on

The goal of this theory is to eliminate suffering amongst everyone. This ethical theory is different to
Kant's ethical theory by the way utilitarianism is more towards the happiness route, while Kant's
theory is more towards following the moral rules. Kant's ethical theory is not about maximizing
happiness or pleasing anyone. This theory is more about acting and doing things the moral way such
as duties that are morally right. 4. Compare rule utilitarianism with act utilitarianism. Rule
utilitarianism is compared to act utilitarianism by the way it promotes happiness. A rule utilitarian is
concerned more with the rule, yet by pleasing people. On the other hand, act utilitarianism is
concerned with individual acts. For example, being honest to an individual will generate happiness.
5. Contrast a right with a duty and a right with a privilege. A right is a form of freedom and liberty.
This allows people to have rights and to be able to do certain things. On the other hand, a duty is an
act that has to be done. This is not done from an individual perspective it is done through obligation
and respect to the moral

Laws In To Kill A Mockingbird
Martin Luther King Jr once stated, "Law and order exist for the purpose of establishing justice and
when they fail in this purpose they become the dangerously structured dams that block the flow of
social progress." Martin Luther King Jr. was explaining rules exist to keep thing fair, however they
can also prevent society was progressing if they are not right. To Kill a Mockingbird written by
Harper Lee, narrates the lives of two children, Scout and Jem, whose father, Atticus Finch, is a
lawyer defending a black man. This man, Tom Robinson is accused of raping a white women. The
Finch children live lives that revolve around Boo Radley–the town "ghost" whose very breath is
driven by rumors. Throughout the novel, To Kill a Mockingbird, Harper Lee continually reveals that
the laws of Maycomb County cannot always be trusted. When the Ewells, a poor ignorant family,
play the system of rules, when Tom Robinson is found guilty, and Boo Radley gets away with
murder, equality and justice are questioned. The Ewells play the system of rules because they have
no other way of surviving. Scout hates going to school and does not want to go any more like the

4th Amendment And The Fourth Amendment
This paper focuses on the Fourth Amendment and the Fifth Amendment cases of the Supreme court
and the exclusionary rule. The first case was an issue with the Fourth Amendment, Whren v. United
States. On June 10, 1993, several plainclothes police officers in unmarked cars were patrolling in a
high drug area in Washington D.C.. for illegal drug activity (Hall, 1996). When observing a
pathfinder at a stop sign with temporary tags remaining at the stop sign for an extended period
blocking the vehicles that had stopped behind them (Hall, 1996). When officers decided to drive the
opposite direction, they observed the driver in the pathfinder staring over in the lap of the passenger
to the right officers had made a U–turn with the intention to follow the pathfinder when its driver
made a right–hand turn without signaling and drove down a street at an unreasonable speed (Hall,
1996). One officer got out of the unmarked police car walked up to the Pathfinder on the driver's
side observing the passenger Whren holding a plastic bag in each hand appearing to look like

Substance Act, having Whren yell "pull off! pull off and saw him taking the cover off the power

What Does Flanders Symbolize
'With a sword in my hand', follows the early years of Marguerite of Male from the year 1348. The
novel displays the strange beliefs and rules which the society of Flanders followed. These people
lived by the rules of the church but they also believed in superstitions found in the living and the
non–living. The people of Flanders were very religious and closely followed the rules of the church.
In the novel, one of these rules were that people as closely related as fourth cousins could not get
married. This is displayed through the Popes reply to Marguerite's letter. "it appears he has
discovered, upon a thorough examination of many branches of the family tree of the world's great
nobility, that you two are cousins ... and that is forbidden by the church and by god". This proved
that Marguerite and Edmund could not get married and fulfill their holy matrimony. Another rule
found in Flanders was that a married couple could not separate until one of them died. This meant
that Marguerite was the only heir to Flanders, as her little brother Boudewijn died and her mother
could not bare her father any more children. "It brings ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Each superstition represented a different meaning. Many of these were shown through the non–
living, such as the use of the red cloth which symbolised wealth. "I am five years old. I'm wearing a
trailing red silk dress stitched through with gold thread." This demonstrates how at such a young age
Marguerite was forced to wear expensive gowns and dresses. Another superstition was that when the
stars were consulted around the time of the birth of Marguerite. "I've consulted the stars this very
night,' surgeon Van Obrecht said to her father." "All the signs are favorable. The new moon, the
stars..." These two superstitions prove that the society of Flanders did not just follow the rules of the
church, but also believed in powerful

under this exception is admissible. An independent source doctrine is evidence obtained in an

evidence would be considered admissible due to this exception. The inevitable source doctrine states
that evidence would have been discovered without the unlawful search and seizure, hence
"inevitable". Attenuation doctrine states when evidence is challenged and an unlawful search and
seizure is too isolated and weakened it can be admissible in court. Evidence admissible for
impeachment states the court can use tainted evidence or illegally obtained evidence to impeach and
prevent perjury in court but not to show guilt in a trial. Qualified immunity is a rule more for
defendants who believe their Miranda rights have been violated due to an unreasonable search

The NFL Protests Of The National Anthem
NFL Protests of the National Anthem The National Football League players who are kneeling for
the national anthem are disrespecting our country and what it stands for. Our flag stands for freedom
and liberty. The players should respect that. Before every NFL game, the flag is brought out by an
Honor Guard. This is part of a time–honored ceremony intended to present our nation's colors (the
flag) and National Anthem in a respectful manner. By kneeling during the national anthem, they are
disrespecting the flag, the national anthem, all our nation stands for, the people currently serving in
the armed forces and all of those who gave their lives in our nation's service. As a result of all the
players or coaches kneeling, long time NFL fans are burning jerseys, cancelling season tickets, not
showing up for games, not watching games, and canceling the NFL Sunday ticket and well they
should. The players claim they are simply exercising their 1st Amendment Rights. The players are
wrong. The Freedom of Speech Clause of the 1st Amendment to the United States Constitution only
protects people from Government attempts to restrict their speech. The NFL is not the government.
The NFL is a private entity that has the right to stop its representatives (players) from violating its
rules. This is why the NFL can require players to wear pink for breast cancer awareness or stop
players from wearing 911 Memorials or fine players for celebrating in the end zone. The NFL
operations manual requires the players to stand for the National Anthem with their right hand over
their heart, their helmet in the left hand, while facing the Flag. Therefore, the players have no right
to kneel during the National Anthem. All the NFL needs to do to end this nonsense is enforce the
rules the players already agreed to follow. NFL football players have no greater right to "protest" on
the football field than an employee at Wal–Mart has to take a knee on aisle seven. Employers have
the right to stop political speech on their premises or while employees are on the clock (there are
some exceptions, but these do not apply). The NFL operations manual simply makes the league's
rules similar Federal law. Federal law (commonly referred to as the

Etiquette In The Odyssey
Etiquette is not a term that we do not hear very often but whether or not we do, it is still
incorporated into almost every aspect of our lives. To me, etiquette is the manner in which
something is done, and it should govern the way we do certain things, depending on the task at
hand. It is something like the "unspoken rules" of society which are procedures to carry out certain
tasks that exist without us being conscious of their existence. Etiquette is evident everywhere and
even dates back to Ancient Greece. In Homer's Odyssey, when the Goddess of Wisdom, Athena
disguises herself as a family friend and pays a visit to Telemachus, Odysseus's son, it was shown to
be that he greets Athena by shaking her right and taking her spear. That action ... Show more content

After I moved to the United States in 2008, we slowly strayed away from this practice. This was
mainly due to it becoming impractical to eat on hardwood floor during the wintertime without any
carpets and when it did get warmer, we were too busy exploring our new environment and eating
out to continue the practice. Eventually, the practice faded away from us. However, a rule of
etiquette for eating for Muslims that my family and I still carry with us to this day is having to eat
with our right hands. This applies to all people no matter whether they are left–handed or right–
handed. This, unlike eating on the floor, is obligatory for all Muslims. This is enforced because it
was originally constructed so that it may promote peace as well as the absence of violence. This is
similar to the widespread and international etiquette of usually shaking the right hand as it showed
that those who were shaking hands mean no harm or have any intention of using violence in their
meeting. Similarly, the idea of eating with the left hand is related to the usage of violence which our
Prophet Muhammad directly correlates to Shaytaan (or Satan). The enforcing of this is directly in
line with an interpretation of rules of etiquette which states, "All rules of etiquette exist to promote
harmony and prevent violence" as it is in agreement to the original intent of Prophet Muhammad,
who enforced this

Reflection On The Treatment Of Prisoners
Our society tends to jump to conclusions and make assumptions of prisoners. Despite what they
have committed and how severe it may be they are still human. We look at them as if they are
inhumane because they are in prison. They still deserve some of the rights that they had before being
convicted. I'm not saying that I am okay with the crimes they have committed but I am okay with
them having a little more of their basic rights. I think the treatment of prisoners should also be
reconsidered. I think that they deserve more time outside of their cells. Inmates only get a certain
amount of time outside which I think is entirely unfair. I also think that their visitation rights should
be reconsidered. As of right now they are only aloud to talk to their visitors over a telephone. What
if they have been in prison for years? I think they should get to physically visit with their visitors
and not just talk over a phone. Prisoners do have the constitutional right to enjoy contact visits and I
think that this should be reconsidered and changed. Prisoners do not get to choose the work that they
are permitted to. I also think this is unfair and they should be able to pick what they do for work. In
doing so, this will solve some of the problems of prisoners acting out and will result in less cruel
punishment of prisoners. There are things that can be changed that will solve a lot of the issues that
guards may have with the prisoners. Prisoners are not allowed to do many things.

What Is Deja Vu Essay
Déjà vu ..... could it be ?
This story takes place while I was driving home one evening.
Like usual, I was letting my mind wander past the cars beside me, and had begun falling into a
daydream state. I was pondering work, (which is not a thing to give ponder after leaving, I dare say),
when a peculiar thing happened.
Well, I can not say that it was a "thing," but rather, a moment of time that revealed a strange state of
being.
Now, many people have had moments of "deja vu." There are many explanations and theories
behind the events that unfold in our concious/subconcious minds during these times of "similar
experience."
In my case, though, it was bordering on uncomfortably eerie, and amazingly excitable, all at the
same time.
While driving down the freeway, I had ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There, on the right hand side of the road, were three cop cars, and in the center of them....a man
standing next to a green motorcycle.
To say I was freaked out by now would be an understatement. It was as if I had spoken the event
into existence.
Was this "deja vu," or prophecy? I was perplexed, yet, quietly amazed with myself. I tried to set up
several other scenarios as I travelled along, but alas, I eventually pulled into my driveway with no
further events.
I slowly came to a stop beside my mailbox. I stared toward my home, up that long, dusty, gravel
road. The sun was now dipping slowly behind the hill that my home sits on. The shadows were
dancing in front of my house like young children just released from school. I let my mind ponder the
last half hour of time, then reached over to open the mailbox.
There, lying almost deathly still on the very top, was a random coupon. The coupon read something
like this, "Come and get it while the iron is hot...there is no moment like the present. The next time
you experience a sale like this, you will just be experiencing deja vu....so hurry

Here we have compiled several artifacts of evidence that prove the guilt of the defendant, Tom
Robinson. To begin, I would like to paint the scene. Tom Robinson, a grown man in his mid 20's has
been rightfully accused of physical violence and rape of our innocent client, Mayella Ewell. Tom
Robinson, a violent boy, has been overworked and led to believe he has a glimmer of power over
this brave woman, Mayella. He was asked to cut a chiffarobe for her, as she is too weak. And with
his strength, and one hand, he was able to complete this request. Not only is he strong, but he has
one arm to use, his right. This, not only proves his strength, but the physical power over Mayella.
You can see his strength in the bruises on her face and the way she flinches at the sight or raise of a
voice. Every time he passes the Ewell residents he is tempted for more, when only asked to
complete odd jobs for the 19 year young woman. He feels wronged for all the work she asks him to
do, and wants more. You can see this in how he creepily stares. Look at her, a beautiful, precious
young woman, and him a powerful "man." if you wish to title him that much. He is in love with
Mayella, and has never been asked to come past the fence. That is a fact clarified by Mayella
herself. With no reason to lie about her injustice. We can see and hear the fear in Mayella's voice as
she had given her testimony, overcome with terror and emotion. Tom Robinson most certainly hit

Tips For Buying The Right Golf Glove
Tips for Buying the Right Golf Glove
The golf glove is an important component in the whole golfing setup because it provides a tackier
grip, which helps prevent club twisting when taking a swing or shot. Majority of golfers also wear
gloves to protect their hands from blisters, calluses and elements such as the sun and rain. Golf
gloves are made from three main types of material; synthetic, leather and hybrid material. A high
quality leather glove promises ultimate comfort because it is soft and pliable while a glove made
from synthetic material is more durable, flexible and cheap. Synthetic gloves are cheaper largely
because they do not breathe as well as leather made gloves. Hybrid gloves, on the other hand, are
mostly made from real and synthetic leather.
Hybrid gloves are popular because they aptly combine the benefits of true leather and synthetic
materials to guarantee comfort and firm grip. Because of increased competition, the best golf gloves
are marketed with features and functionalities like premium Cabrera leather, excellent fit and use of
micro–vent material for enhanced breathability. The other types of golf gloves in the market include
all–weather gloves, thermal gloves and golf mitts. The challenge amateur and professional golfer's
face when buying gloves is choosing a product that will work for them without compromising
quality. This decision is usually influenced by a number of factors, key among them personal
preference, budget, material and level of

The ultimate goal of ethical theory is to achieve human dignity, peace, happiness, and well –being.
But these goals are somewhat vague and can be interpreted differently in different situations under
certain circumstances. So to make the things less complex, we try to define a sphere of freedom in
which people can act and make decisions freely without interference from others. So natural rights
defines ethical theory as a set of actions that respects fundamental rights of others, including the

A Brief Note On Conflict Analysis Using Ssam
Conflict Analysis using SSAM
After the 10 simulations for each intersection were completed in VISSIM, their respective outputs
were imported in SSAM. The analysis in SSAM resulted in possible conflicts generated at each
intersection. As mentioned earlier, the results from the SSAM analysis were filtered to remove any
uncertainties, including possible conflicts of pedestrians. The filters used are explained in Table 3
(Section 2.5.3).
Per Saleem (2012), the principal reason for removing the pedestrian conflicts is that in his study
only vehicle–to–vehicle crashes are modeled. In the same way, this study only focuses on evaluating
safety of signalized intersections with the presence of automated vehicles without including
pedestrians due to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The CMF was calculated for each crash prediction model applied at both scenarios: 50%AV and
100%AV. Using the method studied by Shahdah, Saccomanno, & Persaud (2014) to predict the CMF
based on simulated conflicts, the total predicted crashes after the countermeasure was applied
(crashes at 100% AV and crashes at 50%AV) were divided by the total predicted crashes before the
countermeasure was applied (crashes at 0%AV). This provided crash modification factors for the
two AV penetration levels investigated in this study.
Finally, to have a better perspective with regards to simulated conflicts and crashes, an average was
calculated for each element used to calculate the CMFs for the four prediction models (crashes at
0%AV, crashes at 100%AV, crashes at 50%AV). With these new values, new CMFs were calculated
for 100%AV and 50%AV with respect to the untreated site scenario of 0%AV.
3.5 Evaluation of Safety Treatments for Signalized Intersections
After analyzing the safety of the 78 signalized intersections when introducing automated vehicles,
this part of the research explored and evaluated the safety effects on crashes when hypothetical
treatments were applied to selected intersections.
The first safety treatment consisted of changing left turn operation from permissive to permissive–
protected. Permissive left turns can raise safety concerns since drivers take a higher risk in crossing

The World On A Turtle's Back Analysis
DC American Literature Semester Final
American literature has evolved greatly from the Native Americans to 1870's. American literature
has changed, it teaches us how we have become more independent ourselves. The World on a
Turtle's Back, a myth, The Scarlet Letter, a book in a puritan setting, and A Rose for Emily is a
southern gothic story. American literature would not be the same today without these forms of
writing. The teachings from these are passed down generation to generation.
The World on a Turtle's Back is a Iroquois myth about the creation of earth. This belief is related to
the biblical belief about creation. Both portray a story of a woman wanting to enjoy the forbidden
fruit. After they eat of this forbidden fruit, good and evil is created. According to the myth good
prevails over the day and bad rules over the night. The days of creation are represented by the
woman planting roots and plants while riding the back of the turtle, the night is created by the right
handed twin cutting off the grandmother's head and tossing it into the sky, and the seas are filled by
the body of the grandmother being tossed into the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These are examples of how American literature has changed to an independent way of thinking.
They focused on God's influence over the people and they slowly changed to people making their
own decisions instead of relying on the church. Historically we see The World on a Turtle's Back as
it relates to the myth about the creation of the world. The Iroquois beliefs of creation versus the
Christian beliefs. The Scarlet Letter shows us the religious beliefs of the Puritans. A Rose for Emily
is a southern gothic story that shook the Southern readers who lived in a world of crisp clean
relationships and society. American Literature is a way for us to see history through someone else's

Violation Of Drug Testing

  • 1. Violation Of Drug Testing Some people may say that mandatory drug testing is a violation of the athletes' Fourth Amendment right. According to some people, these tests are unnecessary and therefore violate these rights. The author of "Mandatory Drug Testing Violates Rights" believes that drug testing is a violation of the Fourth Amendment of the Constitution; "Courts have ruled that drug tests are a search. A search is a privacy issue, and there has to be a reason for the search." This is true. Drug tests are a search, and in some cases they may violate the rights of some citizens. Professional athletes, on the other hand, do not get their rights violated by this. This does not violate the Fourth Amendment because the athletes have already agreed to the rules of participating in the sport. Deborah Lee and Ann Griswold, authors of "Point: Athletes Should be Tested for Drugs" explains that "in none of these cases have athletes' Constitutional rights been abrogated because the participation in athletic events is always voluntary and never mandatory. The 'mandate' only comes into play after the athlete has agreed to participate, thereby voluntarily agreeing to obey the rules of the sport." This explains how the athletes have agreed to the rules of the activity, which in most cases prohibit the use of many performance enhancing substances, so since they have agreed to these conditions, the mandatory drug testing of athletes is not a violation of their rights. An athlete's rights are not being violated by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Examples Of A Moral Theory A moral theory has an explanation of what makes an action correct. Great example is the right to own property. On the other hand a moral code are rules to live by. For instance, the ten commandments stated by the Catholic Church. Needless to say, these are both examples of codes and theory I was raised to believe in. "Nature human beings obviously need natural resources in order to survive." (Edward Feser) In this article, Edward made a connection with how owning property should be a natural law for human beings, to better society. For instance, without the right to own property there is no incentive to create property; and if there's no incentive then how can society advance? In all owning property can benefit everyone in advancing in wealth, status, and education. This is why many people including myself have lived by this theory. I was taught at a young age that owning property was our right for a successful future. In fact, my parents have lived by this philosophy and ended with successful stakes that have been used on their retirement. Through adopting this theory they moved their class status to middle class. In doing so, they have better opportunities and earned a higher income. Meanwhile, Im adopting this theory which has proven factual in my families life. I have started small ... These commandments state general rules that help someone stay in the right path. As a child I did what I was told and followed these by heart. Now as an adult and a parent it is very difficult to do so. I believe in questioning theories, rules, statements, etc. So as an adult it's hard to believe these commandments and follow them because a religion tells me to do so. • 13. Democracy And The Liberal Democracy Democracy varies in every country depending on the type of government or regime they have. There is the liberal democracy, which is all about giving people their rights and liberties; everything is done through fair voting and electing. The people are aware of everything that happens in their government. Illiberal democracies are basically the same as liberal, but the people in power are more secretive of their activities, and there is less civil liberty. It is essentially a partial democracy. Now Authoritarian regimes designate any political system that concentrates power in the hands of one leader or a small elite. There are no free elections and very little regard for the law. Political institutions, social structures, and the democratic rule of law all affect liberal, illiberal, and authoritarian regimes democratic quality differently. First, liberal democracies are more open with the people. The philosophical traditions of a liberal democratic republic are democracies, liberalism, and republicanism. Democracies try to be equal with all, it stresses public rights, it reaches for what the majority wants, and it is very protective against authoritarianism. In liberalism, natural rights can't be violated, private rights are very important, no one is above the law, and the government has no rights. In republicanism the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. The chief executive is chosen through lections, and every citizen has their right to vote. Political ... • 17. What Is Utilitarianism? Utilitarianism is a theory in ethics that believes in maximizing happiness for the purpose of satisfying people. The theory simultaneously brings happiness and consequences. Even though it may have consequences, it is said to bring happiness to the majority of people. However, the meaning behind this principle is vague because doing things to maximize happiness may be right or wrong under some circumstances. However, the idea of utilitarianism is narrowed down into two different types: act and rule. Act utilitarianism is a theory that states that a person's act is morally right "if and only if" it produces as much happiness as any other actions a person could take at that time. An example of this is going to the movies versus going to the orphanage to do charity service. According to act utilitarianism, if you were to choose from these actions, going to the orphanage to do charity service is morally right because you can produce "more overall happiness in the world". On the other hand, rule utilitarianism is another form of utilitarianism that says that an action is the right decision as long as it agrees to a rule that leads to a greater good. It is said ... Act utilitarians believe that if homosexuality does not bring the greatest amount of people happiness, then it is considered bad. Rule utilitarians accept these actions since human rights are considered one of the moral rules for them. On the other hand, Libertarians accept homosexuality because it is a situation where an individual has a right to express their feelings, which is based on the idea of ... • 21. Machiavelli 's Views On Nature Of Good Rule Essay Both Locke and Machiavelli share the philosophy of improving the establishment but their point of views regarding the nature of good rule varies. Machiavelli presents a rather extreme notion of the Prince disregarding individual rights for the benefit of the principality. He justifies these violations of rights, by implementing that it is necessary in order to maintain order and power. Machiavelli's idea of the nature of good rule benefited the society of that specific time period through the means of letting human nature take rule of the principality. Locke on the other hand, argues that people need absolute control over the establishment in order to maintain order and equality. This argument is derived from the concept of the good rule of nature. In a conversation between both men, Locke would achieve the greater argument when it comes the nature of good rule but does not do so without certain restraints. These restraints will be pointed out by Machiavelli and a counter argument will be presented by Locke, which justifies his theories and strengthens his argument regarding the nature of good rule. Machiavelli begins his argument, by justifying an authoritarian governing system by the means of hereditary rule. He believes that people always comply with The Princes rule because they act on love. Machiavelli explains this when he states that, "The hereditary prince has less cause and less necessity to offend, hence it happens that he will be more loved" (The prince, 3). For ... The Following Report Will Be Discussing The Implementation The following report will be discussing the implementation of 'Golden rules' in the practitioner's setting to help manage and support the behaviour of children aged three to five years old. The need for this implementation was discovered through a SWOT analysis the practitioner conducted keeping in focus the safety of the children. A Swot analysis is a tool used to identify an organisation or settings strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (ODI, 2009). The strengths and weaknesses are related to internal factors whereas, opportunities and threats are the external factors (Development Impact and You, 2017). There are a few reasons for having golden rules in the setting the first to help manage the behaviour of the children which is a requirement from the EYFS (2017), as this will ensure the safety of others. Secondly, to help the children to respect one another with is one of the characteristics of the British Values (Citizen Foundation, 2017). Lastly, and most importantly is help provide a safer environment for all the children. To see how the practitioner is aiming to implement the golden rules please see appendix two. The practitioner decided implement golden rules with the support of the children as this will make it more meaning full for the children. The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), is a legally–binding international agreement which states in article 12 state that children should be given the right to voice their views and their views should be listened to (Unicef, 2017). Taking article 12 into consideration the practitioner plans to involve the children by asking them what rules they would like to set for their room, allowing the children to express their views and feelings. By allowing children to make decisions in what their golden rules should be the practitioner will be incorporating the characteristic of democracy from the 'British Values', (Citizen Foundation, 2017). The moral worth of any action is judged by how much the benefits gained for all perceptive beings. While some individuals may suffer from these actions, utilitarianism holds that the conduct may still be ethical if it does more good for a greater number of people than it harms. Ethical egoism holds that moral conduct ought to be judged through self–interest. Ethical egoism states that the good consequences for the individual outweigh the consequences placed upon others. In egoism, actions could be considered ethical for the individual if the one taking the action is benefited, while any benefit or detriment to the welfare of others is a side effect and not as important as the consequences for the individual. The similarity between act utilitarianism and ethical egoism are both contained large number of sub–theories within each branch which are the value placed between the individual and others. The way people think and what they want in life change as they age and as new progress is made. Therefor, government should be changed when its ideals no longer aline with that of the peoples. The right of the government to rule over people should come from the people's approval. If people do not agree with their government they have the right to change their government. This right has changed history all over the world. Without this right the power of the government may be in the hands of a single ruler or monarch who has no interest in their people's wants or needs, and when this power falls into the wrong hands the people of a country have the right to take this power away and end the trynary in their country and give power to a more well suited government. ... The Declaration of Independence calls on this right when they broke away from England and formed their own government. Charles's belief of absolute power in a sole monarch was countered by Parliament, who won the war, wanting to rule over the English government. Giving Parliament the power to rule over the English government was a great change to how the country was ruled, and creating the Commonwealth of England. No Left Hand Rule In Guatemalan Essay I'm from Senegal, a country in West Africa, located in the westernmost point of the continent, and as we may know, Africa is a land of culture and diversity. To that adds ethnic, religious and superstitious beliefs. There are many things unique to the heritage of Senegal. One of the most important one is the "no left hand rule", a superstition strongly influenced by religion. The Senegalese people are very superstitious. As the vast majority of the population in Senegal is Muslim, this means that traditional Islamic rules, lifestyles and beliefs are followed by many people. Of these rules, it is considered very disrespectful and rude to use your left hand to eat or even greet anyone with. For example, in a conventional Senegalese household, people share food on one big bowl because they believe it betters the relationships of the ones eating it. However, the people eating will feel very offended if anyone puts there left hand in the bowl and might refuse to keep eating due to the negativity they believe it might bring. To them the left hand doesn't represent anything positive; hence you shouldn't eat, drink or greet people with your left hand. Even when cooking, it's advised to limit the use of the left hand. ... In this case the U.S supreme court had to rule on if in fact the Second Amendment right which declares," A well– regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a Free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed", applies to the states of the U.S. In the city of Chicago prohibited a person from possessing any kind of fire arm unless the person had a "legal" registration for the gun. The clause of this rule that made it questionable to the person's legal rights is that the law made it so that registrations of most handguns were prohibited. This therefore making it illegal to own many hand guns, violating a person's right to bear arms yet again. A group of people took this to court claiming that the ban on hand guns made it so that they were exposed to criminals therefore they couldn't protect them self. The group filed a claim that there second and fourteenth amendment rights were being violated. • 73. The Pros And Cons Of The Fourth Amendment The Fourth Amendment, a portion of the Bill of Rights, was ratified on December fifteenth seventy ninety–one. The Bill of Rights introduces the Fourth Amendment as The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized. (The National Constitution Center, 2016) Not only does this right protect the people as well as the police officers from perilous situations it also puts limitations in place by removing a small amount of power from the police. For the police to search and seize people, their property, or their homes they must first obtain a warrant. Even though there is a great deal of circumstances where warrants are not required, most searches and seizures will require a warrant that is often cleared by a judge first. For the judge to justify the search or seizure law enforcement must show probable cause. American citizens often feel secure when learning about the exclusionary rule in addition to the Fourth Amendment because it suppresses the United States government's control; Still, there have been times when American citizens were not thoroughly protected by the Fourth Amendment. • 77. Pros And Cons Of Death Punishment In terms of the death penalty, certain crimes do deserve this punishment, under specific circumstances. Heinous crimes, such as the murder of the 1st and 2nd degree and rape, should be punishable by death. However, this punishment shall only occur so long as the criminal(s) pass both the M'Naghten Rule and the Durham Rule. In the gruesome murders of the Clutters' family, Perry Edward Smith and Richard Eugene Hitchcock were both deemed perfectly sane under both rules, showing that both men deserved the death penalty. Although there is plenty of proof that Hitchcock was sane, there is also enough evidence to prove that Smith was mentally unstable. Due to this evidence, Hitchcock rightfully got what he deserved, while Smith was wrongfully done. According to Cornell Law School, the M'Naghten Rule is when a defendant is claimed to be innocent when "at the time of committing the act, the accused was laboring under such a defect of reason, from disease of the mind, as not to know the nature and quality of the act he was doing or, if he did know it, that he did not know what he was doing was wrong"("Insanity Defense"). In Layman's terms, an accused is deemed innocent if he/she does not know right from wrong and/or does not know what he/she is doing at the time of the crime. In regards to Richard Hitchcock, he is not protected under this said rule. Proof that Hitchcock knew what he was doing and knew it was wrong is expressed in C J Lewis' article of "Hitchcock v. State." His ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 81. Persuasive Essay On Breaking Rules Kim Harrison say that " Breaking rules isn't bad when what you're doing is more important than the rule itself." In discussion of rebellion, one controversial issue has been showing that everyone's bewilderment. On the one hand, people argued that it is unsuitable to infringe the rules. On the other hand, people demonstrate that it is justified to contravene the rules. However, I believe that it is right to break the rules when it support a cause you believe in, unfairly and understandable. One key reason why we should break the rules when it supports a cause that you believe in, a cause that is right because you believe, in your opinion, defying authority may help other people. One clear example of this is from the text, " Hunger games." Katniss breaks several rules to help her people and her family. To understand why Katniss breaks the rules is because her people live in a oppressed life in a society by all the specific rules like weapon not allow, hunting not allow, and you can not go in the wood to pay or sell food. Katniss have to ignore the rules go in the wood, hunt and trade food so her family can have food to survive. Another strong example is from "The Montgomery Bus Boycott," when Rosa Parks break the rules on the bus, don't give up her seat on the bus because white people in texas being racist which mean black people have to give up their seat for white people. Rosa park shirk the law and justify for her people. To better understand in that situation is because when other people life in danger you believe that you should stand up and speak for them as a hero. There are many people life get in danger or dead because no one believed themself or wanted to stand up and speak for other people. This historical document illustrates that we should help other people when we think our believe is not wrong. Another important reason when is it right to break the rules is when it unfairly. One significant example is that from the text article title "Marriage is a Private Affair." Nnaemeka rebel against the rules which mean he don't listen to his dad and married someone else in the cosmopolitan atmosphere of the city not in the Ibo tribe where his dad live. Define the terms deontology (deontological approach) and teleology (teleological approach). Deontology: is the act of doing the right thing no matter what the consequences are. For example, if an individual has a family member that killed someone then, it is his/her duty to go against the family member to say the truth. Even though it is bad to go against a family member, according to the deontological approach, it is doing the right thing. A rule utilitarian is concerned more with the rule, yet by pleasing people. On the other hand, act utilitarianism is concerned with individual acts. The novel displays the strange beliefs and rules which the society of Flanders followed. These people lived by the rules of the church but they also believed in superstitions found in the living and the non–living. The people of Flanders were very religious and closely followed the rules of the church. In the novel, one of these rules were that people as closely related as fourth cousins could not get married. This is displayed through the Popes reply to Marguerite's letter. "it appears he has discovered, upon a thorough examination of many branches of the family tree of the world's great nobility, that you two are cousins ... and that is forbidden by the church and by god". This proved that Marguerite and Edmund could not get married and fulfill their holy matrimony. Another rule found in Flanders was that a married couple could not separate until one of them died. This meant that Marguerite was the only heir to Flanders, as her little brother Boudewijn died and her mother could not bare her father any more children. "It brings ... An independent source doctrine is evidence obtained in an unlawful search and seizure may later on be admissible after a valid seizure is obtained, the same evidence would be considered admissible due to this exception. The inevitable source doctrine states that evidence would have been discovered without the unlawful search and seizure, hence "inevitable". Attenuation doctrine states when evidence is challenged and an unlawful search and seizure is too isolated and weakened it can be admissible in court. Evidence admissible for impeachment states the court can use tainted evidence or illegally obtained evidence to impeach and prevent perjury in court but not to show guilt in a trial. Qualified immunity is a rule more for defendants who believe their Miranda rights have been violated due to an unreasonable search conducted by law enforcement. • 109. The NFL Protests Of The National Anthem NFL Protests of the National Anthem The National Football League players who are kneeling for the national anthem are disrespecting our country and what it stands for. Our flag stands for freedom and liberty. The players should respect that. Before every NFL game, the flag is brought out by an Honor Guard. This is part of a time–honored ceremony intended to present our nation's colors (the flag) and National Anthem in a respectful manner. By kneeling during the national anthem, they are disrespecting the flag, the national anthem, all our nation stands for, the people currently serving in the armed forces and all of those who gave their lives in our nation's service. As a result of all the players or coaches kneeling, long time NFL fans are burning jerseys, cancelling season tickets, not showing up for games, not watching games, and canceling the NFL Sunday ticket and well they should. The players claim they are simply exercising their 1st Amendment Rights. The players are wrong. The Freedom of Speech Clause of the 1st Amendment to the United States Constitution only protects people from Government attempts to restrict their speech. The NFL is not the government. The NFL is a private entity that has the right to stop its representatives (players) from violating its rules. This is why the NFL can require players to wear pink for breast cancer awareness or stop players from wearing 911 Memorials or fine players for celebrating in the end zone. The NFL operations manual requires the players to stand for the National Anthem with their right hand over their heart, their helmet in the left hand, while facing the Flag. Therefore, the players have no right to kneel during the National Anthem. All the NFL needs to do to end this nonsense is enforce the rules the players already agreed to follow. NFL football players have no greater right to "protest" on the football field than an employee at Wal–Mart has to take a knee on aisle seven. Employers have the right to stop political speech on their premises or while employees are on the clock (there are some exceptions, but these do not apply). The NFL operations manual simply makes the league's rules similar Federal law. Federal law (commonly referred to as the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 113. Etiquette In The Odyssey Etiquette is not a term that we do not hear very often but whether or not we do, it is still incorporated into almost every aspect of our lives. To me, etiquette is the manner in which something is done, and it should govern the way we do certain things, depending on the task at hand. It is something like the "unspoken rules" of society which are procedures to carry out certain tasks that exist without us being conscious of their existence. Etiquette is evident everywhere and even dates back to Ancient Greece. In Homer's Odyssey, when the Goddess of Wisdom, Athena disguises herself as a family friend and pays a visit to Telemachus, Odysseus's son, it was shown to be that he greets Athena by shaking her right and taking her spear. That action ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After I moved to the United States in 2008, we slowly strayed away from this practice. This was mainly due to it becoming impractical to eat on hardwood floor during the wintertime without any carpets and when it did get warmer, we were too busy exploring our new environment and eating out to continue the practice. Eventually, the practice faded away from us. However, a rule of etiquette for eating for Muslims that my family and I still carry with us to this day is having to eat with our right hands. This applies to all people no matter whether they are left–handed or right– handed. This, unlike eating on the floor, is obligatory for all Muslims. This is enforced because it was originally constructed so that it may promote peace as well as the absence of violence. This is similar to the widespread and international etiquette of usually shaking the right hand as it showed that those who were shaking hands mean no harm or have any intention of using violence in their meeting. Similarly, the idea of eating with the left hand is related to the usage of violence which our Prophet Muhammad directly correlates to Shaytaan (or Satan). The enforcing of this is directly in line with an interpretation of rules of etiquette which states, "All rules of etiquette exist to promote harmony and prevent violence" as it is in agreement to the original intent of Prophet Muhammad, who enforced this ... • 117. Reflection On The Treatment Of Prisoners Our society tends to jump to conclusions and make assumptions of prisoners. Despite what they have committed and how severe it may be they are still human. We look at them as if they are inhumane because they are in prison. They still deserve some of the rights that they had before being convicted. I'm not saying that I am okay with the crimes they have committed but I am okay with them having a little more of their basic rights. I think the treatment of prisoners should also be reconsidered. I think that they deserve more time outside of their cells. Inmates only get a certain amount of time outside which I think is entirely unfair. I also think that their visitation rights should be reconsidered. As of right now they are only aloud to talk to their visitors over a telephone. What if they have been in prison for years? I think they should get to physically visit with their visitors and not just talk over a phone. Prisoners do have the constitutional right to enjoy contact visits and I think that this should be reconsidered and changed. Prisoners do not get to choose the work that they are permitted to. I also think this is unfair and they should be able to pick what they do for work. In doing so, this will solve some of the problems of prisoners acting out and will result in less cruel punishment of prisoners. There are things that can be changed that will solve a lot of the issues that guards may have with the prisoners. Prisoners are not allowed to do many things. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 121. What Is Deja Vu Essay Déjà vu ..... could it be ? This story takes place while I was driving home one evening. Like usual, I was letting my mind wander past the cars beside me, and had begun falling into a daydream state. I was pondering work, (which is not a thing to give ponder after leaving, I dare say), when a peculiar thing happened. Well, I can not say that it was a "thing," but rather, a moment of time that revealed a strange state of being. Now, many people have had moments of "deja vu." There are many explanations and theories behind the events that unfold in our concious/subconcious minds during these times of "similar experience." In my case, though, it was bordering on uncomfortably eerie, and amazingly excitable, all at the same time. While driving down the freeway, I had ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There, on the right hand side of the road, were three cop cars, and in the center of them....a man standing next to a green motorcycle. To say I was freaked out by now would be an understatement. It was as if I had spoken the event into existence. Was this "deja vu," or prophecy? I was perplexed, yet, quietly amazed with myself. I tried to set up several other scenarios as I travelled along, but alas, I eventually pulled into my driveway with no further events. I slowly came to a stop beside my mailbox. I stared toward my home, up that long, dusty, gravel road. The sun was now dipping slowly behind the hill that my home sits on. The shadows were dancing in front of my house like young children just released from school. I let my mind ponder the last half hour of time, then reached over to open the mailbox. There, lying almost deathly still on the very top, was a random coupon. The coupon read something like this, "Come and get it while the iron is hot...there is no moment like the present. Without you people we would not be able to bring this case to an end and bring justice to our client. This should be a safe town to live in but with people like Tom Robinson raping girls, that will never be obtainable. It is without a doubt Tom Robinson's doing because of all of the evidence stacked up against him. Tom Robinson has caused harm to our client to an unspeakable amount and because of this he should be prosecuted and charged with the crimes that he committed. Here we have compiled several artifacts of evidence that prove the guilt of the defendant, Tom Robinson. To begin, I would like to paint the scene. Tom Robinson, a grown man in his mid 20's has been rightfully accused of physical violence and rape of our innocent client, Mayella Ewell. Tom Robinson, a violent boy, has been overworked and led to believe he has a glimmer of power over this brave woman, Mayella. He was asked to cut a chiffarobe for her, as she is too weak. And with his strength, and one hand, he was able to complete this request. Not only is he strong, but he has one arm to use, his right. This, not only proves his strength, but the physical power over Mayella. You can see his strength in the bruises on her face and the way she flinches at the sight or raise of a voice. Every time he passes the Ewell residents he is tempted for more, when only asked to complete odd jobs for the 19 year young woman. He feels wronged for all the work she asks him to do, and wants more. You can see this in how he creepily stares. Look at her, a beautiful, precious young woman, and him a powerful "man." if you wish to title him that much. He is in love with Mayella, and has never been asked to come past the fence. That is a fact clarified by Mayella herself. With no reason to lie about her injustice. We can see and hear the fear in Mayella's voice as she had given her testimony, overcome with terror and emotion. Tom Robinson most certainly hit her, and he ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 133. Tips For Buying The Right Golf Glove Tips for Buying the Right Golf Glove The golf glove is an important component in the whole golfing setup because it provides a tackier grip, which helps prevent club twisting when taking a swing or shot. Majority of golfers also wear gloves to protect their hands from blisters, calluses and elements such as the sun and rain. Golf gloves are made from three main types of material; synthetic, leather and hybrid material. A high quality leather glove promises ultimate comfort because it is soft and pliable while a glove made from synthetic material is more durable, flexible and cheap. Synthetic gloves are cheaper largely because they do not breathe as well as leather made gloves. Hybrid gloves, on the other hand, are mostly made from real and synthetic leather. Hybrid gloves are popular because they aptly combine the benefits of true leather and synthetic materials to guarantee comfort and firm grip. Because of increased competition, the best golf gloves are marketed with features and functionalities like premium Cabrera leather, excellent fit and use of micro–vent material for enhanced breathability. The other types of golf gloves in the market include all–weather gloves, thermal gloves and golf mitts. The challenge amateur and professional golfer's face when buying gloves is choosing a product that will work for them without compromising quality. A Brief Note On Conflict Analysis Using Ssam Conflict Analysis using SSAM After the 10 simulations for each intersection were completed in VISSIM, their respective outputs were imported in SSAM. The analysis in SSAM resulted in possible conflicts generated at each intersection. As mentioned earlier, the results from the SSAM analysis were filtered to remove any uncertainties, including possible conflicts of pedestrians. The filters used are explained in Table 3 (Section 2.5.3). Per Saleem (2012), the principal reason for removing the pedestrian conflicts is that in his study only vehicle–to–vehicle crashes are modeled. In the same way, this study only focuses on evaluating safety of signalized intersections with the presence of automated vehicles without including pedestrians due to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The CMF was calculated for each crash prediction model applied at both scenarios: 50%AV and 100%AV. Using the method studied by Shahdah, Saccomanno, & Persaud (2014) to predict the CMF based on simulated conflicts, the total predicted crashes after the countermeasure was applied (crashes at 100% AV and crashes at 50%AV) were divided by the total predicted crashes before the countermeasure was applied (crashes at 0%AV). This provided crash modification factors for the two AV penetration levels investigated in this study. Finally, to have a better perspective with regards to simulated conflicts and crashes, an average was calculated for each element used to calculate the CMFs for the four prediction models (crashes at 0%AV, crashes at 100%AV, crashes at 50%AV). With these new values, new CMFs were calculated for 100%AV and 50%AV with respect to the untreated site scenario of 0%AV. 3.5 Evaluation of Safety Treatments for Signalized Intersections After analyzing the safety of the 78 signalized intersections when introducing automated vehicles, this part of the research explored and evaluated the safety effects on crashes when hypothetical treatments were applied to selected intersections. The first safety treatment consisted of changing left turn operation from permissive to permissive– protected. American literature has changed, it teaches us how we have become more independent ourselves. The World on a Turtle's Back, a myth, The Scarlet Letter, a book in a puritan setting, and A Rose for Emily is a southern gothic story. American literature would not be the same today without these forms of writing. The teachings from these are passed down generation to generation. The World on a Turtle's Back is a Iroquois myth about the creation of earth. This belief is related to the biblical belief about creation. Both portray a story of a woman wanting to enjoy the forbidden fruit. After they eat of this forbidden fruit, good and evil is created. According to the myth good prevails over the day and bad rules over the night. The days of creation are represented by the woman planting roots and plants while riding the back of the turtle, the night is created by the right handed twin cutting off the grandmother's head and tossing it into the sky, and the seas are filled by the body of the grandmother being tossed into the ...
