A basic characteristic of their bilateral relations was the acceptance of "the principle of non–interference in China's internal affairs, particularly with
respect to human rights, democratisation, Taiwan, Tibet and China's social system". However, the events at the Tiananmen Square and its surroundings

Political photography is a threat, because this genre of photography is seen as a true piece of reality and provides evidence for historical moments.
Moments shown in Tank Man and Tereska Draws Her Home both portray two individuals who symbolize people who have suffered from the acts of
the government and or the military. The two photographers, Jeff Widener of Tank Man and David Seymour of Tereska Draws Her Home, take different
approaches documenting moments in history, from the Tiananmen Square Incident of 1989 in Tank Man to the Holocaust in Tereska Draws Her
Home. Their execution in capturing these moments greatly affects the object/subject relationship and reveals their position as both outsiders, in
reference to Abigail Solomon–Godeau's Inside/Out. In addition, Widener and Seymour use their cameras as passports, exploring a part of someone's or
a country's moment that happens to be in a vulnerable state (Solomon–Godeau). Widener uses his camera as a passport as an American to document
Chinese history, a history that is not his own. Seymour uses his camera as a passport to cross over boundaries to capture his subject's disturbed

Consequently, this diary uncovered all of her secrets and personal thoughts. This act of exposure is similar to the disclosure and photographic
taking of Tereska Draws Her Home. Documentation of personal accounts helps the rest of the world understand and learn, such as from the faults of
the government and military systems. Tereska's illustration is personal, and extrudes the immense impact the Nazis and concentration camps had on
young children. Other children like Tereska drew their interpretations of their home as well during this same assignment in other photographs
Seymour had taken. These other children drew recognizable images of homes and concrete buildings, most of which consisted of squares and
identifiable figures. Conversely, Tereska did now draw anything so identifiable. Instead, she drew clumsy, large scribbles that fill up the entire space
given to her. There is a relevant circular motion to her drawing, and her drawing is so large that it even crosses over in the child's drawing on her
left. At one point, she even draws over her name at the top. She is attempting to cover the entire space in these circular scribbles, with the inspiration

Tanks provided a substantial difference during the war. It increased mobility on the battlefield and in due course broke the stalemate of trench warfare
(WW1 Facts 1). The vast idea of the tank was constructed in 1915 by a British Army colonel named Ernest Swinton and William Hankey, a secretary
of the Committee for Imperial Defense. The first tank prototype, Little Willie, was revealed in September 1915. It was a great advancement of war
technology and inspired and influenced other countries to come up with their own models. But when Little Willie hit the battlefield, it turned out to be
a complete bust. It struggled to terrain the trenches and would often get caught in them. It traveled very slowly and and quickly became overheated.

Using graphic detail and bitter imagery, Sassoon expressed the contrast between the beautiful nature and the destruction of the war. Sassoon begins by
using details and poetic language to describe the beauty of the surroundings, almost to reflect upon the attractive and heroic image of war portrayed
through propaganda. This then contrasts sharply with the graphic and detailed description of the battlefield. His clever use of vocabulary was
employed with great effect often using words that had more than one definite meaning. In the third line he describes the sun "smoldering through
spouts of drifting smoke that shroud". The word "smoldering" evokes a clear image of the sun being covered by this thick infected smoke, and used in
conjunction with the word "shroud" gives the reader an idea of obscurity within the battlefield. On a deeper level, "shroud" is a metaphor expressing
the concealing nature of the smoke to hide the reality of the war. "The menacing scarred slope" creates a dark, threatening image reflecting the fear
these soldiers endured in battle. Although the poem starts of relatively slow, it builds momentum with each new line. Sassoon successfully creates a
sense of suspense, imitating the continuous anticipation of attack these soldiers endured. The

In the late 1800s, Europeans began thinking of a new weapon. This weapon would be similar to Naval Battleships, but on land. For years no one
had any luck with a functioning design. Then, in 1903, H.G. Wells published a story called "The Land Ironclad" focused around an armoured vehicle
with mounted turrets. Because of Wells' vivid details when writing, in 1915 British engineers were able to draw a plausible, working design for a
contraption that would later be called the Mark I Tank. The introduction of the tank would startal the world and open up a new frontier for engineering.

Many said the tanks weren't ready for battle, and that they should keep them a secret from the Germans until they were running at full capacity. These
hesitations became a reality. The tanks failed during the attack. They struggled on the terrain of the Somme, many of the crew members were
inexperienced and unfamiliar with their controls, and several had mechanical failures as well. By the end of the week, British and French forces had
made a considerable advancement, at most 2,300 miles in some areas, but had failed to break through the German lines.
In December of 1916, orders were made for a better tank to be made. In January 1917, fifty Mark IIs were made with slight engine upgrades over the
Mark I. They were only made for training however and were supposedly plated with unhardened steel. Twenty were sent to France anyway. They were
later joined by another twenty–five. The last five remained in Dorset for testing purposes. The twenty–five Mark IIs first saw action at the Battle of
Arras in April 1917, where all forty–five Mark IIs and fifteen Mark Is were damaged or destroyed and all around rendered useless by newly
developed, German machine gun fired armour piercing bullets. Shortly after this failure, work on a Mark III tank began. The upgrades however took
so long that if no attention was paid, it seemed like almost nothing had changed.

The first world war was a time of huge change for technologies and many innovations were made. The first of the three I will write about is the change
of machine guns and how useful and significant they were in the first world war.
On the one hand, machine guns could be said to be significant because of the extra fire power they provided on a battlefield. It has been estimated that a
machine gun creates the equivalent to anywhere between 60 to 100 rifles, depending on the source, in from one weapon. This gave an army
defending a position a huge advantage over the attacking side and almost certainly prolonged the stalemate as breaking enemy lines became so
difficult as reaching the enemy trench was a near impossible thing to do with the machine gun firing at the attacking men. It has been estimated
that around 20% of the casualties of world war 1 were caused by the machine gun. and This figure is very high considering all the possible causes
of death in the battlefields of WW1. What also made the machine gun of the first world war significant was how it affected the future. These early
models were the basis of a weapon used in all places of the world ever since these first guns were used in the before and mainly during the first
