This Denim project requires each group to choose a brand that specialises in denim, a brand that has
a large denim stock list or a brand that is popular for its denim products. The brand is to be selected
along side a collaborator that would be suitable to collaborate with this brand. This project gave the
group a great opportunity to have an insight on denims' history and how denim first started. In fact,
denim (was originally used by workers in the past and not by the upper or middle class people. They
wore denim clothes because of their extended durability, the fabric was extremely strong and perfect
for their daily jobs and rough duties, it didn't wear out easily making it a good fabric for the long
run. It was also a fabric that does not need ironing, making it really easy to just put on. Nowadays,
denim is very popular among all people of different ages and groups. Also, the consumption of

Abigale Greedy Dance
Over the past several weeks, I have been working with a determined group of girls to create a fun
piece for a school dance battle. Abigale, Sophie, Kadey, Jesseca, Libby and I put our heads together
and formed an epic mashup. Our process, while sometimes slow, will be beneficial to future
projects. We've shared ideas for choreography, songs, and concepts to result in our 1 minute and 30
second piece. The six of us wanted to choreograph a sassy routine that would be upbeat and
exciting. We decided to mash two songs together so we could use the element of surprise to win our
audience over. The song "Greedy" by Ariana Grande is bold and lively. Abigale thought it would be
perfect to cut the song before the chorus and replace the rest with "Cake By The Ocean" by DNCE.
In my opinion, this was a strong decision because it opened some doors for us choreography wise.
We were able to manipulate the tone of the piece to social and uplifting than strictly sass and jazz.

After realizing this song wouldn't be appropriate for a high school setting, we went back to the
drawing board. Two of our girls, Sophie and Abigale, attended Showchoir Camps of America this
summer. At this intensive, they learned a dance to "Greedy"; this was the main inspiration for our
piece. From what I heard, it was sassy and boisterous. While we didn't recycle the choreography (to
my knowledge), we wanted to include a similar dynamic. By putting all our energy into the dance,
we made the piece entertaining and upbeat. Another decision we made was to use all the space
provided. When possible, the six of us want to travel. We are doing this all the time, except when

As we discussed in class, a threat of substitute does not necessarily just mean other high end,
premium, higher priced jeans. Substitutes could include any types of jeans. There are skinny jeans
that are mentioned throughout the case, as well as slim cut jeans, straight cut jeans,
low/medium/high rise jeans, etc. Any type of jean poses as a threat to premium denim jeans because
consumers fashion senses are constantly changing. As of late, more people have shifted towards the

ill–fitting jean all throughout middle school, until I was enlightened. My sister took me to American

The demand for indigo cake increased as many wanted to use the cake for various purposes, such as
using it as a blue dye for their painting. However, the supply of indigo cake was decreasing due to
the hard production method, resulting a fluctuation in its price. But, a German chemist, Johann
Friedrich Willhelm Adolf von Baeyer, developed a cheaper alternative method by making synthetic
indigo. He started working with indigo in 1865. His work resulted in the first chemical synthesis of
indigo, in 1880. And then, three years later, he announced the chemical structure of synthetic indigo.
He then sold this invention to BASF (Badische Anilin– und Soda–Fabrik), an international chemical
company, for $100,000. Synthetic indigo, by 1913, had almost completely replaced natural indigo,
and by 2002, 17000 tons of synthetic indigo were produced worldwide.

The decision to shift into mass production was one that was spurred on my industrialization and a
wider demand for the product. Not only were jeans easier to make in the factory, they were created

looking to set up another new factory in Bangladesh. This report investigates and examines the basic
considerations for a factory set up, then makes recommendations on these findings in order to
provide the management team with the tools required to ensure a smooth factory start up. The
discussion focuses on the four main topics: Method of manufacture, Method study/time study,
Costings and Quality. Recommendations are made concerning these topics, with the benefits and
drawbacks of each presented, with suggestions on which of each topic may be best suited to the

She always wears black or dark skinny jeans. Although, BAM! She wears crazy shirts like, galaxy
