Almost always after the shark has taken its first bite of human flesh, it releases and swims away
realizing that what they have eaten was not what the thought it was.
Not many people will bring up that sharks have been around for more than 400 million years, that
there is almost nothing that is as old as a shark, or even that sharks have survived all five mass

have many senses that us humans do such as taste and smell, but it has special three senses that we

chaos in an unknowing world. In Francis's article "The State of Sharks, 40 Years After Jaws," he
drives into the negative and positive effects of Jaws on shark populations. He mostly focuses on
Australia and the United States. Before the movie was released, little was known about sharks.
People were oblivious to the danger, but swimming was not a huge recreational activity. Early

Sharkwater (2006) is a documentary that was filmed by Robert Stewart, a man who spent his whole
life in the ocean fascinated by sharks. Stewart's passion for sharks lead him to eventually become a
marine biologist so he could spend his days scuba diving out in the ocean. His main goal shooting
this movie is to inform viewers about how sharks are being killed so brutally and to persuade
watchers to help do something to keep the shark population in tact. Stewart and his anti poaching
crew try to evacuate the illegal fishermen out of the waters, help save the sharks, and raise
awareness about the mass killings of the sharks and their rapid declining population. People in the
countries that he traveled to then rallied together to protest, urging the government to create stricter
laws. Stewarts' message has impacted the countries he's visited; with his excellent use of logos,
pathos, and mainly ethos he is able to impact even more people around the world.
Upon Stewart's arrival to the Galapagos Islands, his boat came across sixty feet of illegal fishing
lines. Attached on the end of the lines were over one–hundred and sixty dead sharks. In the
background the sound of a slow piano played, adding to the intense scene. Stewarts instinct was to
spring into the water and offer immediate help to the sharks, he shifted through the dead animals
trying to find one that might be alive to let it loose. "I feel like a part of my family is dying." Stewart
stated once he returned to his crew on the boat. This scene evokes emotion of sorrow and pity for
Stewart since he has such a strong emotional connection for the lives he's lost. Robert stated that
Hammerheads are "The most misunderstood species in the world." As the hammerheads swam
circling around him it was evident that they were keeping their distance from Stewart. If he slightly
moved his arm or leg, the sharks would add more distance between them and him. Robert explained
that Hammerhead sharks are extremely shy and can sense others feelings, if you're scared then they
will be too. Once Stewart said this, the typical stereotype of a ruthless shark was gone. During the
