Reaction
This article provide excellent topic on paper prototype transforming into a "paper in screen" as well
as analyze the three approach of prototype: paper, paper in screen, and high–fidelity. However, I
rather like to see the author describe more of a paper prototype rather than focus on mobile device.
The "paper–in–screen" offer unique content of a paper view on a screen, but you can't do much
nonetheless swipe to the next screen. In addition, it doesn't make any mistakes. In the emotion
sections of the paper, I also enjoy reading about the relationship of user experience and design.
Visceral level "is the simplest and most important factor of degree" (Bolchini 31). In other word, the

evolving. Brainstorming and prototyping are tools that are central for the development of

In high school students are typically assigned with a project there senior year which forces them to
explore different professions by completing volunteer hours at multiple non–profit facilities. The
purpose of this assignment is to give students a first–person view of job fields that they might be
interest in. So take advantage of this assignment while others simply complete the volunteer hours to
satisfy the assignment. In high school to complete these hours I began an internship at a local
automotive facility considering the fact that since I was a teen I had a passion for fiddling with

There is little of what a 3D printer can't create, as they have been used to create robots, prosthetics
limbs, shoes, and musical instruments. After the blueprint is created then it has to be imported,
depending on the file the 3D printer accepts. In my case we used the Dremel Digilab 3D45 3D
Printer. The printer is very large for its size around 15.9 by 20.2 by 16 inches. This is a closed–frame
printer, with a clear plastic door in front that opens outward, and a clear lid on top that swings
upward to open. This permits easy access to the print bed when needed, and safety when a print job
is in progress. Also the glass build plate is heated up to 100°C and 0.4mm steel nozzle heated up to
280°C. Also it uses filament, specifically a polylactic acid filament and can use up to 11 different
colors and Eco–ABS which is a modified filament, and the one I used for printing. With the printer
they include the Idea Builder with heated build plate to print Nylon, ECO ABS, PETG, PLA at 50
micron resolution. The printer uses Dremel Cloud to upload projects, which accepts them in STL
format. STL files describe only the surface geometry of a three–dimensional object without any
representation of color, texture or other common CAD model attributes and is used by all 3D
printers. The reason I used Dremel Cloud is because it is the only program compatible with the

The approach towards this project shows interdisciplinary learning between various engineering
fields. First thing to start is designing of table which involves precise dimensions and this involves
mechanical engineering to implement material modeling. Secondly, the design also involves kient
sensor which needs to be embedded with the simulator and programmed through assembly
language, requires electrical engineering in it. Finally all the functionality and image processing

This article presents a subjective evaluation of the Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis
(DFMEA) framework. The advantages and disadvantages of DFMEA have been briefly discussed.
Finally, methods for further improving the effectiveness of this tool have been discussed, with a
mindset of making it more useful in an industrial setup.
INTRODUCTION Engineering design is a relatively new field of study, which continues to prosper
day by day. The variety and volume of research being done in this field explains the importance of
this discipline. Design tools, which help in improving design process are a center of attraction for
all, design practitioners and industries alike. Numerous tools have been developed over the years, to
improve design quality. The DFMEA is one such tool, which aims to improve product quality by

When I first arrived to the AT&T Summer Bridge, one of the first people I meet was Tim Willis. He
was heaver involved the project aspect of the camp, but still present in that time. The more I talked
to him the more interesting his experiences were. He then invited me to check out the Sooner off–
Road team, and joined the team. Tim is in his senior year of school and is the person with a lot of
experience in the Mechanical Engineering field before graduation. His interest was more through
tinkering with things. From a young he found it fun to design, build, and test things in his free time.
During this time, he joined the Boys Scouts of America and became an Eagle Scout in the
organization. To achieve this rank he created a Man–made waterfall in a stream as a final project. I
was told by him it was very challenging, but after that he finds a challenge and tackles it head on.
However, the greatest challenge he had to tackle was in 2011. During that year Tim was a junior in
high school, his house was hit by a tornado.
"Everything I owned was gone. The only thing I had were the clothes on my back. This thought me
a lesson in humbleness, through the whole process of getting back to where we were. I mean we
went from having a home to being homeless. It made me realize that things don not last forever."

1) Petrol/Gasoline: This is primarily a clear fuel that is derived from petroleum that is used primarily

2) Diesel: This is liquid fuel used in diesel engines, whose fuel ignition takes place, without any

friendlier to the environment. Their approach is very different from the usual ecological approach,
which, as put by McDonough and Braungart, is to "be less bad." The regular approach has normally

This paper is written from the vantage point of an automotive exterior component engineer who has
been involved with vehicle body design and manufacturing of polymers and painted plastics. My
experience in large scale injection molding, e–stat painting, and fabrication processes, as well as the
business of the automotive industry, has motivated me to research the history of the automotive

His idea not only helped to revolutionize and industrialize America, but it also established the
foundation of a social and economic infrastructure that exists today. David Gartman defines this
beginning as "Fordism":
Henry Ford's revolutionary mass–production processes for manufacturing automobiles stands as an
almost universal symbol for modern industrial capitalism. Both its hitherto unimagined material
productivity and its similarly unprecedented impoverishment of the human spirit are simultaneously
captured by the contradictory image of the automobile assembly line. Along such lines and in other
mechanized processes pioneered by Ford, degraded and dehumanized workers toil to produce the
very products that enrich their leisure lives. The incredible productivity of Fordist mass production
makes possible, perhaps even necessary, mass consumption. Historians remind us that not only did
Henry Ford innovate production methods that steadily lowered the price of a complex, mechanical
consumer good, but he also pioneered the transformation of the toiling masses into consumers by

and varieties to suit our needs, but with the vast amount of competition how do car manufacturers
attract our attention. Unique designs, impressive technology, price and customer service are all the

Managing innovation effectively can turn companies around dramatically, allowing companies to be
ahead of its competitors. Introducing new technologies and products will help businesses attract
customers and provide a unique selling point. It can also help cut costs along with raising profits.
Effective innovation allows for new opportunities and may lead companies getting a larger market
share and may even break companies into new markets. Good innovation can also increase
employee motivation and moral creating an efficient working environment.
However having a good idea doesn't mean a company is innovative, making the idea work
effectively so that it brings value to the business is successful innovation. Furthermore innovation
can also propose risks and if not carefully executed innovation may harm the business. New ideas
need to be carefully executed after in depth research, if this is not done correctly a new idea is likely
to fail incurring unnecessary costs and falling profits. It may also result in competitors taking
advantage of a failed idea making a business vulnerable losing its clients as they may begin to look
elsewhere.
Ultimately innovation is very important it is a strategy that needs to be implemented with a lot of
thought and analysis.
