Digital And Collaborative Learning Practices
The key problems, which I, unfortunately, was unable to identify in my first assessment, would be the lack of digital and collaborative learning
practices in my teaching. These could be due to the following reasons:
1.Working within time frames to deliver the relevant content.
2.Not confident in using digital devices and its related applications/apps for learning purposes.
3.Lack of motivation to try something different.
4.The workload associated with creating content using a digital innovation could be exhausting and tiring.
5.The school system does not demand an immediate need for digital and collaborative innovations (DCI).
6.Teaching to task in order to improve on the NCEA results.
7.Not aware of the effectiveness of DCI in classrooms.
8.Comfortable with the concept of being a traditional teacher.
9.There is no procedure or system in place about the expectations of students using digital devices in my school.
10.The expectation of BOT and whanau to raise the achievement levels for external exams seems unreasonably high.
11.Heavy workload, which drains my energy level to incorporate DCI in my classroom.
12.Working in a decile 2 school I have students who range from diverse families and cultures and with special needs. My lessons are planned in such
a way, which caters the needs of individual students. For evidence based I am required to have a paper trail.

Research Paper On Collaborative Learning
Collaborative
According to Barbara et al. (1992) "Collaborative learning" is an umbrella term for a variety of educational approaches involving joint intellectual effort
by students, or students and teachers together. Usually, students are working in groups of two or more, mutually searching for understanding,
solutions, or meanings, or creating a product. Collaborative learning activities vary widely, but most center on students' exploration or application of the
course material, not simply the teacher's presentation or explication of it.
Henneman et al. (2013) Collaboration is acknowledged as an important component of team processes. He identified that collaboration "requires
competence, confidence and commitment on the part of all parties. Respect and trust, are both for one self and others, is key to collaboration. As such,
patience, nurturance and time are required to build a relationship so that collaboration can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Totten et.al (1989) proponents of collaborative learning, the fact that students are actively exchanging, debating and negotiating ideas within their
groups increases students' interest in learning. Importantly, by engaging in discussion and taking responsibility for their learning, students are
encouraged to become critical thinkers
For collaborative learning to be effective, there should be both "group goals" and "individual accountability". This means that the collaborative learning
task must have a common goal that the group must be attain. Collaborative ensure that every group member has learnt something. Ideally, a
collaborative learning task would allow for each member to be responsible for in their

Diverse Interaction Fosters Collaborative Learning
Diverse Interaction Fosters Collaborative Learning Constructivism is an educational philosophy with many faces, however it primarily emphasizes on
the social and cognitive abilities of the learner. A constructivist view on learning is where students share their experiences and knowledge in order to
learn from another. Humans derive knowledge from previous knowledge, yet the teachers must conduct an environment that facilitates the learning
process. It is a method of learning where the learner is active and makes sense of the world through external interventions. More importantly, educators
that use collaborative learning to build morale and social skills collectively, contribute to the enhancement of student teaching (Hernandez, 2012).
Theorists Jean Piaget, John Dewey and Lev Vygotsky were educational scientist who are responsible for the current way lessons are taught globally
(Pass, 2004). Piaget, a psychologist, focus of constructivism has to do with the cognitive abilities of the individual and how they construct their own
knowledge (Lam, 2011). Piaget is well known for the cognitive observational learning stages of the individual. Vygotsky is known for his sociocultural
theory who designed the Zone for Proximal Development (ZDP) where students begin internalizes concepts. The Zone for Proximal Development is a
key example of how constructivism uses collaboration to build knowledge through scaffolding. These philosophers make up the different parts of
constructivism.

Collaborative Learning In Middle Schools
Educators and researchers have never stopped the examination of the importance and relevance of collaborative learning that are encouraged by
middle schools. When compared with studying alone, I personally believe that it is far more beneficial to students when working in groups for the
following reasons. First off, working in a group finishing group projects can be very conducive for students since they can help students to study more
effectively and get exposure in real–world issues. If teachers categorize students and organize them in small study groups, chances are that they would
solve complex issues together, like research the history of the city, examine the water quality of the local town, so on and so forth. Students can

Reflection On Collaborative Learning
COLLABORATIVE LEARNING
Collaborative learning is founded on the idea that the learning process is a naturally social act which requires the participants to talk among
themselves. Collaborative learning involves small groups of students who act on a structured learning activity to solve a problem, complete a task, or
create a product. In simpler terms, the students work in groups to learn or understand a new concept they are studying. In this learning approach, it is
important to understand that the students are accountable for individual work as well as the group work they do as a group in collaborative learning
MY VISION
My vision of collaborative learning is a learning strategy that affords the students enormous opportunities and advantages not available through
traditional learning processes. I believe that students in a collaborative team tend to attain ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Reflection helps one to improve especially when they can draw lessons from the positive and negative experiences of the past. It is an active process
that enables individuals to understand how historical, social, cultural, as well as personal experiences contribute to how we study or learn. In any
aspect of life, reflection can be applied to help individuals focus their efforts in getting the most out of different situations, and, therefore, improving
self–performance and becoming lifelong learners.
RELEVANCY IN THE PROFESSIONAL LEISURE PRACTICE
In professional leisure practice, reflection is important to help a person grow based on interactions with others and experiences in different situations.
Moreover, reflection can facilitate continuous professional development (CPD) so that a professional keeps up to date with new ideas and practices in
the professional leisure practice. In this case, reflection is a key method we can use to identify personal CPD needs.

I would love to contribute my analytical mind, international experience, and lateral thinking to the HBX collaborative learning culture.
An analytical mind is essential to strategy and innovation because only a detailed understanding of the underlying problem enables the discovery of a
novel approach to solving the actual cause rather than just the problem. Throughout my extensive training in computer science, I developed
comprehensive analytical abilities such as conceptual problem decomposition, root–cause analysis, and solution inference. I love to contribute my
analytical skills to the collaborative learning culture just as much as my international experience.

Use of Collaborative and Cooperative Learning
Collaborative and cooperative learning promotes student learning through group–oriented activities. Collaborative learning is a method of teaching and
learning in which student teams will work together to create a meaningful multimedia project. Cooperative learning, which will be the primary focus
of this paper, is a specific kind of collaborative learning. In cooperative learning, students work together in small groups on a structured activity.
Cooperative groups will work face–to–face and will learn to work as a team. The multimedia project will allow all students to benefit from gaining a
deeper knowledge of the multimedia matters through communication with their peers and building relationships among their peers of different ... Show

This guide will be useful in my teaching practice to help provide strategies in developing a cooperative learning environment (Tanner, Bottoms, Feagin,
Bearman, 2003).
The guide will help integrate technology into this multimedia project that will provide students with fresh ways to learn and opportunities to apply
knowledge to new situations, thus encouraging problem–solving and thinking skills. The instructional plans used in the multimedia project will make
sure that students have access to technology that enhances learning. Students will learn to use technology in conducting research and in presenting
what they have learned. Students will also apply productivity/multimedia products to support personal productivity, group collaboration and learning
throughout the curriculum as well as use technology to design, develop, publish and present products related to classroom content. The purpose of this
guide is to help teachers deepen students' learning and to challenge teachers and students to set learning goals that go far beyond the classroom (Tanner,
Bottoms, Feagin, Bearman, 2003).
Cooperative learning is considered a classroom organizational and instructional method which was considered for this multimedia project. Cooperative
learning is more than just group work. Lee (1997) in traditional group learning, students work in groups with no attention paid to group functioning,
whereas in cooperative learning, groups work is carefully prepared,

Module 8: Assignments Collaborative Learning Community: Pricing Decisions 1) Within your CLC, choose a publicly traded company and identify
one of its products that the group will analyze. Describe the strategic implications that would need to be considered in setting a price for that product,
and determine whether the group would use a market–based pricing approach or a cost–based pricing approach to setting the product price. Explain the
rationale behind choosing the pricing approach. Identify the costs that the group thinks would be considered in setting the product price, and come up
with a sample cost structure for the product (make it as realistic as possible). Calculate a price for the product, and defend your product price and
related cost structure.
We decided on Apple and the iPhone 5 is the product.
There is no exact theorem for determining how to price a product but the following can act as a heuristic of sorts:
Consider marketing strategy – perform marketing analysis, segmentation, targeting, and positioning. (i.e. analysing the target market for whom the
product is intended and assess whether or not they can afford intended price)
Make marketing mix decisions – define the product, distribution, and promotional tactics. Sum up costs; based on that determine your profit.
Estimate the demand curve assess possible demand for product. A larger demand usually reduces price.
Calculate cost these include the fixed and variable costs associated with the product.

A Definition of Collaborative vs Cooperative Learning
A Definition of Collaborative vs Cooperative Learning
Ted Panitz (1996)
[pic]
I have been searching for many years for the Holy Grail of interactive learning, a distinction between collaborative and cooperative learning
definitions. I am getting closer to my elusive goal all the time but I am still not completely satisfied with my perception of the two concepts. I believe
my confusion arises when I look at processes associated with each concept and see some overlap or inter–concept usage. I will make a humble attempt
to clarify this question by presenting my definitions and reviewing those of other authors who have helped clarify my thinking.
Collaboration is a philosophy of interaction and personal lifestyle whereas cooperation is a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The major difference lies in the fact that cooperative deals exclusively with traditional (canonical) knowledge while collaborative ties into the social
constructivist movement, asserting that both knowledge and authority of knowledge have changed dramatically in the last century. "The result has
been a transition from "foundational (cognitive) understanding of knowledge", to a nonfoundational ground where "we understand knowledge to be a
social construct and learning a social process" (Brufee, Collaborative learning: Higher Education, Interdependence, and the Authority of Knowledge,
1993). Rockwood states:
"In the ideal collaborative environment, the authority for testing and determining the appropriateness of the group product rests with, first, the small
group, second, the plenary group (the whole class) and finally (but always understood to be subject to challenge and revision) the requisite knowledge
community (i.e. the discipline: geography, history, biology etc.) The concept of non– foundational knowledge challenges not only the product acquired,
but also the process employed in the acquisition of foundational knowledge."
"Most importantly, in cooperative, the authority remains with the instructor, who retains ownership of the task, which involves either a closed or a
closable (that is to say foundational) problem ( the instructor knows or can predict the answer). In collaborative, the instructor––once the task is set––

Collaborative Learning Community (CLC)
* Introduction: *
Group work can seem like a daunting task, particularly in an asynchronous environment in which communication occurs primarily online or, at a
distance. Even if you are enrolled in a course that meets weekly, conflicting schedules can make it difficult to arrange outside meetings with your group
members. However, with proper planning and clear communications, teams can work effectively and efficiently with little or no face–to–face contact.
Achieving good outcomes requires that individuals with different strengths, weaknesses, and perspectives come together to arrive at consensus. Several

Your grade for each CLC assignment is based partly on the quality of the work submitted and partly on the demonstration of group dynamic and "group
think." *
How the CLC Works
The instructor will assign students to teams during Topic 1 in preparation for the CLC assignment that is due in Topic 3.
Each team will be assigned a color code.
Your team will use the CLC forum, located in the Discussion Forum folder, to communicate with each other while working on the assignment. Your
team's CLC forum can be identified by the color code that was assigned to your team.
Tips to Get Started 1) Get to know your team members and their individual skills (what they do well and what they prefer to do when working in
groups).
2) Establish a "To Do" list for the group.
3) Establish expectations (how and when to communicate, who will do what aspects of the project) and a timeline in which the group must complete
specific tasks.
4) Organize your work into sections, ensuring that all items listed on the guidelines are accounted for.
5) Communicate with your group members often to ensure your group is on track.
6) Assemble a rough draft of all documents required and upload the file to the team discussion forum for all group members to review and give
comment.
7) Make corrections as necessary

The Usage Of Mobile Usage Behavior
MDU Patterns
Mobile usage behavior was mostly consistent with past studies. In both countries, "Search information" was identified as one of the most frequent
usage behaviors. The result was not surprising because the ubiquity in accessing information and resources is the major advantage of using mobile
devices over desktop computers. Higher usage of text messages over emails appears to reflect the current younger generation. Emails may no longer be
the primary means of online communication. Another interesting finding regarding mobile usage patterns was that in Israel "Check the news and read
online magazines" was much higher than in the U.S. This gap may be due to a cultural difference between the two countries. One possible reason is
that historically, Israel has been facing religious conflicts (Smooha, 1978); therefore Israeli students may be more interested in the current political
news and use mobile devices to obtain up–to–date information on what is going on in their country.
With respect to academic usage, the results were the same as those found in past research. Students in both countries do not use mobile devices for
academic purposes as much as for other type of activities. One possible reason is that small mobile devices are not suitable for doing intensive
academic tasks, such as writing research papers. It is easier to write and edit papers with a large monitor on a desktop computer than a small mobile
device. Students may use mobile devices only for quick

A lot of this information were things that I tried to use when I was in charge of meetings as a teacher and a coach. I am not a big fan of meeting for
the sake of meeting. I need to see a defined purpose and love to have an agenda that gets followed because I value the precious nature of time. For the
previous six years, I was the parish council chair for St. Anthony Church. I created the agenda for our monthly meetings and made sure that the priest
followed the time schedule. I even talked him out of meeting when he had nothing on the agenda and thought we could meet just to meet. Keeping a
schedule seems to be the logical step within the meeting structure. That being said, my previous principal like to just meet and see what happens.
In–service was him going on and on about topics that only he knew about and never had a strong focus. I think collaborative meeting will work so
much smoother if core team members remember to stay on task and follow the agenda. I like the aspect of at the meeting trying to outline the goals for

Four Principles Of Collaborative Learning
What is collaborative learning?
Collaborative learning is an instructive way to deal with teaching and learning that involves groups of students working together to tackle an issue,
finish a task, or make a product. According to Gerlach (1994), collaborative learning is "based on the idea that learning is a naturally social act in which
the participants talk among themselves." When collaborative learning strategies are utilized to support instruction, students have tendency to be more
engaged, retain information better, and have preferable learning results over those of individual learners (McLaren, 2014)

Moreover it encourages the students to have the quality of respecting other's different view in a particular topic.
Principles of collaborative learning
Collaborative activities are most often based on four principles:
пѓ Collaborative learning's first priority are the students.
пѓ Collaboration and making a work done are of major importance.
пѓ An important approach of learning is working in groups.
пѓ It is important to have organized methods to clear out real world problems, plus this should be a part of learning.
Assumptions
Collaborative learning takes on a variety of forms and is practiced by teachers of different disciplinary backgrounds and teaching traditions, the field is
tied together by a number of important assumptions about learners and the learning process.
Learning is lively, productive process: In collaborative learning situations, students are not just taking new thoughts or information. They are producing
something new with the information and ideas. To learn new information, skills or ideas, students have to work lively in purposeful ways. They need to
integrate what they already know to recognize what they thought they

Developing Technology And Collaborative Learning
Introduction
Information and communication have changed rapidly during the past decades, both hardware, software and networking. Many communication devices
are smaller and easier to use and are more convenient. For example, smart phones, PDAs, portable computers, iPad, and tablets are important tools for
study so having them smaller and easier to use is of great value.
Educational policies in Thailand have packed Information and Communication Technology (ICT) into the curriculum. Therefore, the current tools used
in teaching need to be portable devices. Teachers and students use portable devices for sharing information, preparing reports, presentations, and
communications to promote learning together. Students interact in group activities together. However, if students are unable to interact easily with
others, it affects their education. If the instructor integrates technology with collaborative learning, I believe it is the best way to teach the students. In

Literature Review On Collaborative And Individualist Learning
Literature Review on Collaborative and Individualistic Learning When people think of collaborative learning, they think of students being forced to
work together in order to complete a task. These all too common groups normally consist of one student that does all the work; while the other members
of the group are copying down all of the answers. Everyone loses in this scenario. The teacher loses because they cannot assess student learning. And
the students lose because they are not doing the work and learning collectively. This is why many first year teachers shy away from assigning
instructional activities that involve collaborative learning. Instead, first year teachers implement strategies that encourages a more traditional mode of
teaching called individualistic learning. Individualistic learning happens when the teacher assigns work and each student in the class is responsible for
completing their work independently. This an ineffective mode of teaching because it creates an environment of competition. Also, it does not
encourage students to learn from each other. Students who are subjected to individualized learning focus more on achieving the right answer than
learning. This can cause students to become disengaged, discouraged or feel inadequate if they cannot keep up with their peers. While both cooperative
and individualized learning have faults, cooperative learning is more effective because it promotes accountability, motivation, and interpersonal skills

Abstract–A large number of modern businesses are based on core idea of users consuming content in a physical or digital form, from a catalogue. The
catalogue is available for browsing through a web site or mobile application. For example, in video or audio rental and streaming applications, the
content is a media file, in news applications, the content is in text and image based format. Although the applications look diverse, the differences are

Is Collaborative Learning Improve The Academic Performance...
What (do you intend to do?)
I intend to research whether the concept of collaborative learning will promote learning and progress with SEN students, and whether the social
interaction of learners will encourage cognitive development in special needs students to reach higher levels of thought than they would independently.
I intend to focus and examine the following questions:
1. Does collaborative learning improve the classroom experience for SEN students?
2. Does collaborative learning improve the academic performance for SEN students?
3. How do SEN students perceive the value of social interaction on their learning?
'Collaborative learning is an educational approach to teaching and learning that involves groups of learners working together to solve a problem,
complete a task, or create a product. Collaborative learning is based on the idea that learning is a naturally social act in which the participants talk
among themselves. It is through the talk that learning occurs.'
Collaborative learning allows learners to be actively involved and engaged in their own learning, rather than expected to simply absorb knowledge from
being lectured by a teacher. The grouping of SEN learners with other learners in theory should encourage cognitive development, promote critical
thinking and create increased interest. The shared learning and social interaction will give the SEN learners the opportunity to actively engage in
discussions, to exchange ideas and converse with other

This paper explores the nature of helping behavior within peer–directed small groups that may be most effective for learning, especially for students
who have difficulty with the material. Drawing on examples from recent research on student learning in collaborative mathematics classrooms in a US
middle school, we identify student behaviors that are necessary for effective help seeking and help giving, as well as responsibilities of teachers in
establishing classroom conditions that bring about effective helping behavior. The findings show that effective help seekers ask precise questions,
persist in seeking help, and apply the explanations received; effective help givers provide detailed explanations of the material as well as opportunities
for help recipients to apply the help received, and monitor student understanding. These critical helping behaviors reflect the constructivist views
embodied in Piagetian and Vygotskian perspectives on learning in social contexts.(Webb & Mastergeorge, 2003)

Introduction
In the past decade, the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) has been imported to raising the value of the national economic, societal,
and educational development. Instructional has changed with the progress of technology, online learning has been boosted as more efficacious, more
convenient and providing increased opportunities for the lifelong learning (Olson and Wisher, 2002; Richardson and Swan, 2003). In Thailand, the
government started educational reform the 2nd in 2002, National Education Act. The purpose of this reform was focused on improving the efficiency
and effectiveness of learning. Students were encouraged to emphasizing on the skills of the 21st century, creative thinking, problem–solving, critical

group members through email, Facebook and the group forums resulted in a decision to combine a number of elements from each person to create a
question that allowed the best opportunity for extensive inquiry. The chosen question: 'Should creativity be the focal point for the future of education?'
could be debated contentiously, was thought provoking and provided no definitive answer.
OLCG25 considered this an important question to contemplate as it reflects on the future of education, the purpose of educational objectives and
incited learning experiences. It gave the group the opportunity to consider the benefits of philosophical inquiry for society and the individual which is
important for future educators as this type of planning and enquiry

students has a very important role in having a collaborative work. Learning is what students "do" and not what they "get" as passive receivers. The
teachers are the facilitators of the students and not the "giver" of knowledge. Through this process the students learn not by being fed the information,
but rather giving their own insights on a certain topic as well as the insight of others. One of the benefits of Collaborative Learning is the vast difference

individuals gives someone a better connection with the world and through it, a problem can be solved easier and way too fast.

Collaborative Learning Community (CLC): Theoretical Frameworks II
Different situations in life can present different needs for individuals. How those needs are met and maneuvered in a person's mind, depends on the
approach an individual would like to use in order to meet those needs. In this essay, you will read about Cognitive therapy and techniques utilized by
therapists that have proven to be effectual and constructive in assisting clients to reach their desired goal for improving and meeting numerous types of
needs. "Focusing minimally on the past, cognitive therapy initially shows clients how their current thinking affects their attitudes, feelings, and

Differences and Similarities
Stressful situations can increase the amount of automatic thoughts and at the same time cause a sense of hopelessness and bring down self–esteem

In
this study, the researcher develops the model of collaborative learning to enhance undergraduate students' education. The borderless classroom utilizes
both technology and collaborative learning.

Collaborative Learning As A Teacher Student Relationship
Collaborative Learning
Collaborative learning is a situation in which learners attempt to learn together. The people involved in collaborative learning capitalize on one
another's skills and resources. Under these circumstances, they share information, monitor each other's work, and evaluate ideas together. Each
participant is accountable to the rest of the learners (Bruffee 636). The learning can be online, chart rooms, or face to face, and may involve group
projects, collaborative writing, debates, joint problem solving, and study teams (Bruffee 638). In essence, collaborative learning redefines the
traditional learning paradigm in which learning was a teacher–student relationship.
Collaboration can be used in various situations to enhance a student's ability to learn. One way in which collaborative learning can be used is in group
projects. Group projects help learners develop skills that are increasingly important in the professional world. Positive group projects enhance students
learning, retention, and success of the entire group and school (Bruffee 640). Working on a project in collaboration fosters the student's ability to
manage time, break complex tasks into smaller parts, challenge assumptions, and develop stronger communication skills. The overall benefits of group
projects include; pooling of knowledge and skills, holding all members accountable, developing approaches to problem solving, tackling projects that
cannot be tacked by individuals, and finding the

Collaborative Learning : A Variety Of Instructional Practices
Collaborative learning refers to 'a variety of instructional practices that encourage students to work together as they apply course material to answer
questions, solve problems, or create a project' (Colbeck et al. 2000, p.60). Collaborative learning is a form of group work and recognised among
educators, it has been a successful learning strategy from an educational point of view. This student–centered learning strategy is implemented in the
learning process and generally seem to have brought many benefits to students. Thus, Arnold and Boggs (2011) defined that group is 'a gathering of
two or more individuals, who share a common purpose, meet over substantial period of time, in face to face interaction, to achieve an identifiable goal'.

1995; Springer et el. 1999, as cited in Hillyard, Gillespie & Littig, 2010, p.10). As students do assignment in a form of group, brainstorming for the
given assignment is everybody's responsibility, everyone shares diverse perspectives, hence, it also shares the workload rather than handling it
individually. Furthermore, group work enhances the motivation to learn, retention of knowledge, depth of learning and appreciation of the subject
being taught (Felder and Brent 1996, p.43). Yet, student will have to put themselves physically and spiritually in group work, as they will get to do a
lot of discussions in together, interactions between each group member, the exchange of opinions will increase the desire to learn new knowledges or
opinions. As far from the survey of sophomore, junior and senior students from four different disciplines by Phipps et al. (2001), carried out that
interpersonal small group skills were rated positively, unfortunately, cooperative learning in general was rated negatively. It is obvious that students
prefer small group learning rather than learning in a form of class but individually. Groupwork also promotes students to learn actively (Ruel et al.
2003). By learning actively, students can improve perceptions and attitudes towards information literacy (Detlor et al. 2012, p.148). Group work is
undeniable as one of the most effective ways in helping students in learning.

Information Communications Technologies And Social Media...
Executive Summary
Technology has had a huge impact on education in recent years. Although there has been an increase in learning methods, technology has also made
students increasingly distracted. This subsequently gave rise to the increasing need for teachers to facilitate the use of technology in the classroom. To
make sure that their students stay focused and to fully utilize the potential of technology, Ministry of Education (MOE) Singapore must leverage on its
main resource, teachers. MOE should utilize technologies such as collaborative technologies and social media where teachers can be present to
facilitate. The effectiveness of these strategies would depend on the efforts of the teachers. MOE should provide proper incentives to these teachers and
implement quotas or requirements for teachers to meet.
Position: Planner
Reader of Report: Minister of Education
Purpose of Report: To support MOE in its endeavour to create an Information Communications Technologies (ICT)–infused curriculum for their
students.
Introduction
MOE is responsible for fostering a climate of literacy in Singaporean students for generations through creating and implementing education policies.
The Compulsory Education Act (Cap 51) requires students aged between 6 and 15 years old to attend national primary and secondary schools, which
makes up the main bulk of MOE's customers (MOE,2016). There is a small minority that are exempted from this compulsory system such as students

Collaborative Professional Learning Project
Rationale
Nash Central Middle School (NCMS) is public middle school with many diverse groups of students. At NCMS, the motto is Student's First and as
Tomlinson states, "the practice of differentiation is rooted in a student–centered philosophy or ethic of teaching"(Tomlinson, 2010). Moreover, a primary
school improvement goal and focus for the 2015–2016 school year is to provide professional development for teachers on differentiating instruction.
The Collaborative Professional Learning Project researched and conducted by this candidate provided an introduction to differentiation as well as gave
valuable resources related to implementing differentiation.
Common Characteristics The targeted group of diverse learners for this Collaborative Professional Learning Project were the Exceptional Children
(EC) of NCMS. The EC students are identified by a current Individualized Education Plan (IEP). The EC students at NCMS have varied and extensive
needs. Some common characteristics of EC students include "holding negative attributions, being nonstrategic, unable to generalize or transfer
learning, processing information inefficiently or incorrectly and poor social skills" (Smith, 2007). Likewise, some of the barriers to learning for EC
students include, poor reading foundational skills, inability to follow multi–step directions, needs more time to complete tasks and master objectives,

Applying A Collaborative Learning Environment
Have you ever pondered the question – What is education? This simple, yet complex, question can be answered differently as everyone 's perception
of how education impacts his life is unique. When I meet someone, I used to ask what he did for a living as it reflected his education background
which allowed me to determine how educated he is. The reality is that the name of a distinguished university attended or the title of a high salary
earning career gives us an idea of the level of scholarship. As today 's system of education will continually undergo progressive refinement, I believe
that it is crucial to dissect the significance of education and provide students with principles to apply to their everyday learning experience and not just a
label on their diploma. At the prestigious TC I dream to fervently study to spark the working minds of aspiring scholars to explore the authentic
meaning and function of education. In addition, I hope to create a collaborative learning environment in schools filled with curiosity and inquiry in
which all participants are both teachers and learners. Looking for wisdom, I have asked my colleagues about what education meant to them and the
majority interpreted it as a transmission of knowledge from a teacher to a student. I disagreed because it sounded as though the realm of academia
simply consisted of a transfer of knowledge that can result in either a successful delivery or omission of expected action. Education is not merely a

Essay question 3: Collaborative Learning
Introduction
In the Book Review of Collaborative Learning, Stoerger said " emphasis on collaborative learning is pushing educational community to a new forms"
(2008). Collaborative learning involves groups of people to work, such as completing a project or producing a product. All team members' work
sequentially to the project and towards to the same goal. It is quite difference with cooperative learning, which members work concurrently on the
project and focus their personal objective (Dillenbourg, 1999). For a university student, it is vital to learn collaborative learning, which can benefits for
their current studying and for their futures' career path. It also exists challenges for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For students, when they start to learn collaborative working, there will have conflicts between members. Due to difference personality, members
should learn to listen each other, even though there have disagreement. Listen first and member can speak out personal opinions, which can show
respect to each other and more confidence. Moreover, in a team, each member should value other's abilities and knowledge. For example, if there is
one member fails to trust others ability to gain a higher mark, it will increase team conflicts between members. Under collaborative learning process, all
members should contribute their talents to the team in order to improve the overall performance (Thirteen Ed Online, 2004). Therefore, in order to
ensure all team members can work together and accordance, it needs them to make joint effort to contribute their skills to the team and accomplish the
object in an effective manner.
Collaborative learning is a great tool for instructors to motivate their student to work with their peers. It is a challenge for teachers to guide their
students to work as a team and allocate them into one group. To form a group is an unnatural process, instructors need to rely on the detail of
assignment, the nature of the task, students' personality and their abilities to form a group. If a teacher fails to examine necessary factors before
forming a group, it will experience a conflict or unbalance team and directly affect the work performance (Barkley, et al,

Collaborative Learning Community: Supplemental Services Essay When it comes to transitional services, the law requires a great deal of focus and
effort be put into the services that are provided to special education students in the classroom. Below, we will summarize what the law requires when it
comes to Occupational Therapy, Vocational Rehabilitation Services,Assistive Technology, and Transition Services.
Occupational Therapists within the school system are there to aid the IEP team and student. The goal is to help the student to perform tasks
independently. The OT in the school is to help the student to prepare and perform learning and school–related activities (American Occupational
Therapy Association, 2010). The OT is to work on goals related to their education. The OT is there to support the students in academic and
non–academic roles within the school. These skills would be anywhere from social skills, math, behavior, recess and other aspects to the students
school day. The OT helps the student engage in activities, succeed within the school environment with the academic focus, which is to improve the
student's fine motor skills. These skills are to help aid in cutting, writing, reading, and provide educational services and sensory skills. They support
ideas within the learning community and classroom and can provide some daily living, such as hand washing and toileting. OT's are active in the IEP
collaboration and will provide help with the student on the

Essay Computer-supported Collaborative Learning
As John Carroll and Ann Bishop state "Most learning takes place in communities." (2005). This could be informal communities, such as a conversation
at a workplace, or it could be a more formal setting such as a distance education course. Regardless of the level of formality, humans learn from one
another through communication in some fashion. The issue for educators, then is how best to channel this natural tendency for learning, and how to
best utilize technology in the process. Therefore, computer–supported collaborative learning (CSCL) focuses on employing the benefits of collaborative
learning via networked computers (Computer–supported Collaborative Learning, 2007). The end–goal is to make use of the power of technology based

Such items as class blogs and wikis, peer feedback, and digital communication (i.e. email, Skype, instant messenger) all foster collaboration. To take
this a step further, CSCL actually promotes group discourse and cooperation in many ways that would simply not be achievable were the class to be
offered without it.
An important factor of CSCL is the recognition of the importance of socialization to learning and the significance of that socialization to developing
higher order thinking skills. Today's knowledge economy requires a much–advanced set of cognitive and analytical skills. Therefore, the group
socialization, discussion, and collaboration play an ever–significant role in defining pedagogical end–goals (Fischer, et. al., 2007). The higher–order
cognitive and problem solving skills require the analysis of processes within complex and practical contexts, rather than just end products resultant from
a teacher–centered classroom. Like most other educational methods, CSCL can be both difficult to implement and to measure. Historically speaking,
providing evidence that any technological progress improves learning has been difficult at best (Carroll, et. al., 2005). However, the traditional model of
education is not suitable for comprehending and learning to resolve the types of complex, often ambiguous, issues that are most

Digital And Collaborative Learning Practices

  • 1. Digital And Collaborative Learning Practices The key problems, which I, unfortunately, was unable to identify in my first assessment, would be the lack of digital and collaborative learning practices in my teaching. These could be due to the following reasons: 1.Working within time frames to deliver the relevant content. My lessons are planned in such a way, which caters the needs of individual students. For evidence based I am required to have a paper trail. 13.Lack of professional development regarding DCI. 14.High expectations from senior management with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. Research Paper On Collaborative Learning Collaborative According to Barbara et al. (1992) "Collaborative learning" is an umbrella term for a variety of educational approaches involving joint intellectual effort by students, or students and teachers together. Usually, students are working in groups of two or more, mutually searching for understanding, solutions, or meanings, or creating a product. Collaborative learning activities vary widely, but most center on students' exploration or application of the course material, not simply the teacher's presentation or explication of it. Henneman et al. (2013) Collaboration is acknowledged as an important component of team processes. He identified that collaboration "requires competence, confidence and commitment on the part of all parties. Respect and trust, are both for one self and others, is key to collaboration. As such, patience, nurturance and time are required to build a relationship so that collaboration can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Totten et.al (1989) proponents of collaborative learning, the fact that students are actively exchanging, debating and negotiating ideas within their groups increases students' interest in learning. Importantly, by engaging in discussion and taking responsibility for their learning, students are encouraged to become critical thinkers For collaborative learning to be effective, there should be both "group goals" and "individual accountability". This means that the collaborative learning task must have a common goal that the group must be attain. Collaborative ensure that every group member has learnt something. • 3. Diverse Interaction Fosters Collaborative Learning Diverse Interaction Fosters Collaborative Learning Constructivism is an educational philosophy with many faces, however it primarily emphasizes on the social and cognitive abilities of the learner. A constructivist view on learning is where students share their experiences and knowledge in order to learn from another. Humans derive knowledge from previous knowledge, yet the teachers must conduct an environment that facilitates the learning process. It is a method of learning where the learner is active and makes sense of the world through external interventions. More importantly, educators that use collaborative learning to build morale and social skills collectively, contribute to the enhancement of student teaching (Hernandez, 2012). Theorists Jean Piaget, John Dewey and Lev Vygotsky were educational scientist who are responsible for the current way lessons are taught globally (Pass, 2004). Piaget, a psychologist, focus of constructivism has to do with the cognitive abilities of the individual and how they construct their own knowledge (Lam, 2011). Piaget is well known for the cognitive observational learning stages of the individual. Vygotsky is known for his sociocultural theory who designed the Zone for Proximal Development (ZDP) where students begin internalizes concepts. The Zone for Proximal Development is a key example of how constructivism uses collaboration to build knowledge through scaffolding. These philosophers make up the different parts of constructivism. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Collaborative Learning In Middle Schools Educators and researchers have never stopped the examination of the importance and relevance of collaborative learning that are encouraged by middle schools. When compared with studying alone, I personally believe that it is far more beneficial to students when working in groups for the following reasons. First off, working in a group finishing group projects can be very conducive for students since they can help students to study more effectively and get exposure in real–world issues. If teachers categorize students and organize them in small study groups, chances are that they would solve complex issues together, like research the history of the city, examine the water quality of the local town, so on and so forth. Students can develop critical ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Reflection On Collaborative Learning COLLABORATIVE LEARNING Collaborative learning is founded on the idea that the learning process is a naturally social act which requires the participants to talk among themselves. Collaborative learning involves small groups of students who act on a structured learning activity to solve a problem, complete a task, or create a product. In simpler terms, the students work in groups to learn or understand a new concept they are studying. In this learning approach, it is important to understand that the students are accountable for individual work as well as the group work they do as a group in collaborative learning MY VISION My vision of collaborative learning is a learning strategy that affords the students enormous opportunities and advantages not available through traditional learning processes. I believe that students in a collaborative team tend to attain ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Reflection helps one to improve especially when they can draw lessons from the positive and negative experiences of the past. It is an active process that enables individuals to understand how historical, social, cultural, as well as personal experiences contribute to how we study or learn. In any aspect of life, reflection can be applied to help individuals focus their efforts in getting the most out of different situations, and, therefore, improving self–performance and becoming lifelong learners. RELEVANCY IN THE PROFESSIONAL LEISURE PRACTICE In professional leisure practice, reflection is important to help a person grow based on interactions with others and experiences in different situations. Moreover, reflection can facilitate continuous professional development (CPD) so that a professional keeps up to date with new ideas and practices in the professional leisure practice. In this case, reflection is a key method we can use to identify personal CPD needs. Pivotal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

An analytical mind is essential to strategy and innovation because only a detailed understanding of the underlying problem enables the discovery of a novel approach to solving the actual cause rather than just the problem. Throughout my extensive training in computer science, I developed comprehensive analytical abilities such as conceptual problem decomposition, root–cause analysis, and solution inference. I love to contribute my analytical skills to the collaborative learning culture just as much as my international experience. • 7. Use of Collaborative and Cooperative Learning Collaborative and cooperative learning promotes student learning through group–oriented activities. Collaborative learning is a method of teaching and learning in which student teams will work together to create a meaningful multimedia project. Cooperative learning, which will be the primary focus of this paper, is a specific kind of collaborative learning. In cooperative learning, students work together in small groups on a structured activity. Cooperative groups will work face–to–face and will learn to work as a team. The multimedia project will allow all students to benefit from gaining a deeper knowledge of the multimedia matters through communication with their peers and building relationships among their peers of different ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This guide will be useful in my teaching practice to help provide strategies in developing a cooperative learning environment (Tanner, Bottoms, Feagin, Bearman, 2003). The guide will help integrate technology into this multimedia project that will provide students with fresh ways to learn and opportunities to apply knowledge to new situations, thus encouraging problem–solving and thinking skills. The instructional plans used in the multimedia project will make sure that students have access to technology that enhances learning. Students will learn to use technology in conducting research and in presenting what they have learned. Students will also apply productivity/multimedia products to support personal productivity, group collaboration and learning throughout the curriculum as well as use technology to design, develop, publish and present products related to classroom content. The purpose of this guide is to help teachers deepen students' learning and to challenge teachers and students to set learning goals that go far beyond the classroom (Tanner, Bottoms, Feagin, Bearman, 2003). Cooperative learning is considered a classroom organizational and instructional method which was considered for this multimedia project. Cooperative learning is more than just group work. • 8. Collaborative Learning Community Module 8: Assignments Collaborative Learning Community: Pricing Decisions 1) Within your CLC, choose a publicly traded company and identify one of its products that the group will analyze. Describe the strategic implications that would need to be considered in setting a price for that product, and determine whether the group would use a market–based pricing approach or a cost–based pricing approach to setting the product price. Explain the rationale behind choosing the pricing approach. Identify the costs that the group thinks would be considered in setting the product price, and come up with a sample cost structure for the product (make it as realistic as possible). Calculate a price for the product, and defend your product price and related cost structure. We decided on Apple and the iPhone 5 is the product. There is no exact theorem for determining how to price a product but the following can act as a heuristic of sorts: Consider marketing strategy – perform marketing analysis, segmentation, targeting, and positioning. (i.e. analysing the target market for whom the product is intended and assess whether or not they can afford intended price) Make marketing mix decisions – define the product, distribution, and promotional tactics. Sum up costs; based on that determine your profit. Estimate the demand curve assess possible demand for product. A larger demand usually reduces price. Calculate cost these include the fixed and variable costs associated with the product. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. A Definition of Collaborative vs Cooperative Learning A Definition of Collaborative vs Cooperative Learning Ted Panitz (1996) [pic] I have been searching for many years for the Holy Grail of interactive learning, a distinction between collaborative and cooperative learning definitions. I am getting closer to my elusive goal all the time but I am still not completely satisfied with my perception of the two concepts. I believe my confusion arises when I look at processes associated with each concept and see some overlap or inter–concept usage. I will make a humble attempt to clarify this question by presenting my definitions and reviewing those of other authors who have helped clarify my thinking. Collaboration is a philosophy of interaction and personal lifestyle whereas cooperation is a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The major difference lies in the fact that cooperative deals exclusively with traditional (canonical) knowledge while collaborative ties into the social constructivist movement, asserting that both knowledge and authority of knowledge have changed dramatically in the last century. "The result has been a transition from "foundational (cognitive) understanding of knowledge", to a nonfoundational ground where "we understand knowledge to be a social construct and learning a social process" (Brufee, Collaborative learning: Higher Education, Interdependence, and the Authority of Knowledge, 1993). Rockwood states: "In the ideal collaborative environment, the authority for testing and determining the appropriateness of the group product rests with, first, the small group, second, the plenary group (the whole class) and finally (but always understood to be subject to challenge and revision) the requisite knowledge community (i.e. the discipline: geography, history, biology etc.) The concept of non– foundational knowledge challenges not only the product acquired, but also the process employed in the acquisition of foundational knowledge." "Most importantly, in cooperative, the authority remains with the instructor, who retains ownership of the task, which involves either a closed or a closable (that is to say foundational) problem ( the instructor knows or can predict the answer). In collaborative, the instructor––once the task is set–– transfers ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Re: Re: Topic 1: Discussion Question 1 Essay Collaborative Learning Community (CLC) * Introduction: * Group work can seem like a daunting task, particularly in an asynchronous environment in which communication occurs primarily online or, at a distance. Even if you are enrolled in a course that meets weekly, conflicting schedules can make it difficult to arrange outside meetings with your group members. However, with proper planning and clear communications, teams can work effectively and efficiently with little or no face–to–face contact. Achieving good outcomes requires that individuals with different strengths, weaknesses, and perspectives come together to arrive at consensus. Your grade for each CLC assignment is based partly on the quality of the work submitted and partly on the demonstration of group dynamic and "group think." * How the CLC Works The instructor will assign students to teams during Topic 1 in preparation for the CLC assignment that is due in Topic 3. Each team will be assigned a color code. Your team will use the CLC forum, located in the Discussion Forum folder, to communicate with each other while working on the assignment. Your team's CLC forum can be identified by the color code that was assigned to your team. Tips to Get Started 1) Get to know your team members and their individual skills (what they do well and what they prefer to do when working in groups). 2) Establish a "To Do" list for the group. 3) Establish expectations (how and when to communicate, who will do what aspects of the project) and a timeline in which the group must complete specific tasks. 4) Organize your work into sections, ensuring that all items listed on the guidelines are accounted for. 5) Communicate with your group members often to ensure your group is on track.

  • 12. The Usage Of Mobile Usage Behavior MDU Patterns Mobile usage behavior was mostly consistent with past studies. In both countries, "Search information" was identified as one of the most frequent usage behaviors. The result was not surprising because the ubiquity in accessing information and resources is the major advantage of using mobile devices over desktop computers. Higher usage of text messages over emails appears to reflect the current younger generation. Emails may no longer be the primary means of online communication. Another interesting finding regarding mobile usage patterns was that in Israel "Check the news and read online magazines" was much higher than in the U.S. This gap may be due to a cultural difference between the two countries. One possible reason is that historically, Israel has been facing religious conflicts (Smooha, 1978); therefore Israeli students may be more interested in the current political news and use mobile devices to obtain up–to–date information on what is going on in their country. With respect to academic usage, the results were the same as those found in past research. Students in both countries do not use mobile devices for academic purposes as much as for other type of activities. One possible reason is that small mobile devices are not suitable for doing intensive academic tasks, such as writing research papers. It is easier to write and edit papers with a large monitor on a desktop computer than a small mobile device. Students may use mobile devices only for quick ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This chapter was about the different elements and skills that can help make collaborative teams work. The authors mention listening, communications, establishing shared values, setting ground rules, defining roles, establishing a schedule, conducting meetings, making decisions, and sharing information as skills that create positive collaborative teaming. For each of the skills the authors then discuss the signs of trouble for each. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A lot of this information were things that I tried to use when I was in charge of meetings as a teacher and a coach. I am not a big fan of meeting for the sake of meeting. I need to see a defined purpose and love to have an agenda that gets followed because I value the precious nature of time. For the previous six years, I was the parish council chair for St. Anthony Church. I created the agenda for our monthly meetings and made sure that the priest followed the time schedule. I even talked him out of meeting when he had nothing on the agenda and thought we could meet just to meet. Keeping a schedule seems to be the logical step within the meeting structure. That being said, my previous principal like to just meet and see what happens. In–service was him going on and on about topics that only he knew about and never had a strong focus. I think collaborative meeting will work so much smoother if core team members remember to stay on task and follow the agenda. • 14. Four Principles Of Collaborative Learning What is collaborative learning? Collaborative learning is an instructive way to deal with teaching and learning that involves groups of students working together to tackle an issue, finish a task, or make a product. According to Gerlach (1994), collaborative learning is "based on the idea that learning is a naturally social act in which the participants talk among themselves." When collaborative learning strategies are utilized to support instruction, students have tendency to be more engaged, retain information better, and have preferable learning results over those of individual learners (McLaren, 2014) Collaborative learning situation is an important move away from the typical teacher centered or lecture– centered process that take place ... Assumptions Collaborative learning takes on a variety of forms and is practiced by teachers of different disciplinary backgrounds and teaching traditions, the field is tied together by a number of important assumptions about learners and the learning process. Learning is lively, productive process: In collaborative learning situations, students are not just taking new thoughts or information. They are producing something new with the information and ideas. To learn new information, skills or ideas, students have to work lively in purposeful ways. • 15. Developing Technology And Collaborative Learning Introduction Information and communication have changed rapidly during the past decades, both hardware, software and networking. Many communication devices are smaller and easier to use and are more convenient. For example, smart phones, PDAs, portable computers, iPad, and tablets are important tools for study so having them smaller and easier to use is of great value. Educational policies in Thailand have packed Information and Communication Technology (ICT) into the curriculum. Therefore, the current tools used in teaching need to be portable devices. Teachers and students use portable devices for sharing information, preparing reports, presentations, and communications to promote learning together. Students interact in group activities together. However, if students are unable to interact easily with others, it affects their education. If the instructor integrates technology with collaborative learning, I believe it is the best way to teach the students. In this study, the researcher develops the model of collaborative learning to enhance undergraduate students' education. The borderless classroom utilizes both technology and collaborative learning. • 17. Literature Review On Collaborative And Individualist Learning Literature Review on Collaborative and Individualistic Learning When people think of collaborative learning, they think of students being forced to work together in order to complete a task. These all too common groups normally consist of one student that does all the work; while the other members of the group are copying down all of the answers. Everyone loses in this scenario. The teacher loses because they cannot assess student learning. And the students lose because they are not doing the work and learning collectively. This is why many first year teachers shy away from assigning instructional activities that involve collaborative learning. Instead, first year teachers implement strategies that encourages a more traditional mode of teaching called individualistic learning. Individualistic learning happens when the teacher assigns work and each student in the class is responsible for completing their work independently. This an ineffective mode of teaching because it creates an environment of competition. Also, it does not encourage students to learn from each other. Students who are subjected to individualized learning focus more on achieving the right answer than learning. This can cause students to become disengaged, discouraged or feel inadequate if they cannot keep up with their peers. While both cooperative and individualized learning have faults, cooperative learning is more effective because it promotes accountability, motivation, and interpersonal skills ... Drawbacks of Collaborative and Content–Based Filtering Methods and the Advantages of Deep Belief Networks in Recommender Systems Sayali Borkar*, Girija Godbole*, Amruta Kulkarni* and Shruti Palaskar* *Computer Engineering Department, Pune Institute of Computer Technology, India Abstract–A large number of modern businesses are based on core idea of users consuming content in a physical or digital form, from a catalogue. The catalogue is available for browsing through a web site or mobile application. For example, in video or audio rental and streaming applications, the content is a media file, in news applications, the content is in text and image based format. Although the applications look diverse, the differences are only superficial. There are numerous common factors. The basic content that forms a catalogue is dynamic in nature. The information is in the form of high dimensional temporal/time series sequence. In this paper, we present a survey of applications implementing collaborative filtering methods, content–based filtering methods and deep neural networks with Restricted Boltzmann Machines (RBMs) for generating recommendations. The drawbacks of collaborative and content–based methods is analyzed and proof of concept is provided for the need of deep learning based recommender systems. I intend to research whether the concept of collaborative learning will promote learning and progress with SEN students, and whether the social interaction of learners will encourage cognitive development in special needs students to reach higher levels of thought than they would independently. I intend to focus and examine the following questions: 1. Does collaborative learning improve the classroom experience for SEN students? 2. Does collaborative learning improve the academic performance for SEN students? 3. How do SEN students perceive the value of social interaction on their learning? 'Collaborative learning is an educational approach to teaching and learning that involves groups of learners working together to solve a problem, complete a task, or create a product. Collaborative learning is based on the idea that learning is a naturally social act in which the participants talk among themselves. It is through the talk that learning occurs.' Collaborative learning allows learners to be actively involved and engaged in their own learning, rather than expected to simply absorb knowledge from being lectured by a teacher. The grouping of SEN learners with other learners in theory should encourage cognitive development, promote critical thinking and create increased interest. • 29. Collaborative Learning As A Teacher Student Relationship Collaborative Learning Collaborative learning is a situation in which learners attempt to learn together. The people involved in collaborative learning capitalize on one another's skills and resources. Under these circumstances, they share information, monitor each other's work, and evaluate ideas together. Each participant is accountable to the rest of the learners (Bruffee 636). The learning can be online, chart rooms, or face to face, and may involve group projects, collaborative writing, debates, joint problem solving, and study teams (Bruffee 638). In essence, collaborative learning redefines the traditional learning paradigm in which learning was a teacher–student relationship. Collaboration can be used in various situations to enhance a student's ability to learn. One way in which collaborative learning can be used is in group projects. Group projects help learners develop skills that are increasingly important in the professional world. Positive group projects enhance students learning, retention, and success of the entire group and school (Bruffee 640). Working on a project in collaboration fosters the student's ability to manage time, break complex tasks into smaller parts, challenge assumptions, and develop stronger communication skills. Although there has been an increase in learning methods, technology has also made students increasingly distracted. This subsequently gave rise to the increasing need for teachers to facilitate the use of technology in the classroom. To make sure that their students stay focused and to fully utilize the potential of technology, Ministry of Education (MOE) Singapore must leverage on its main resource, teachers. This simple, yet complex, question can be answered differently as everyone 's perception of how education impacts his life is unique. The reality is that the name of a distinguished university attended or the title of a high salary earning career gives us an idea of the level of scholarship.
