1. In this evaluation i will be talking about our crime drama called “Midwinter Murders”. It
is a spoof of the actually drama called “ Midsummer Murders” which is a programme on
ITV.
My Strengths of making this trailer is:
Filming - I think that I was good at filming because I had some good ideas of how
to film to different scene by having different angles .so it change how the trailer
was made.
Editing - I think that editing is one of my strong points because I like to play
around with the different scenes and making changes such trying to make the
trailer funny. Also making the trailer flow.
Planning- I think that I was good at planning because I stuck to the task given to
us and I think I did a good plan of what we were going to do so this help use
when creating the trailer
My weakness of making this trailer is:
Acting - Acting is one of weak spots because I'm not a confident person and this
was hard for me to do because I was out of my comfort zone.
Communicate with the group- I think that I was not good at communicate
because the rest of my group had a lot of good ideas to say. So I couldn't give a
lot of ideas to the group because of that. But I did get some of points across such
as the camera shots.
What I edited and how I edited it
1. We all edited are own version of the trailer Midwinter Murders
2. When you have filmed your part for the trailer you have to put it on
a memory card/stick in to the computer (tower)
3. You have to create a folder and import the clip into the folder
4. Then open premiere pro and click new then title your work
5. After that import your work by clicking on file then import and find your
file that you saved your trailer clips in and highlight them all and press
import
6. When you have import your clips name the clip like chase scene 1 so it
easier to tell which is which
7. When you named your clips you can drag them into the time line at the
bottom and order them how you want
8. Then if you want you can title to your trailer to make even better
9. If you have add titles and finished your trailer go and press the ENTER
button to render the trailer to make it run better
The programme and tool we used were:
Adobe Premier Pro
Camera
Tripod
Razor tool
2. Timeline
New skills that i have learnt from doing this the different camera angles that you can get
when using a tripod. This means that the camera is still and stable, creating a better clip.
The team work of our team throughout the process was good- we all work well in a
group all doing the different roles from filming to acting and editing of our trailer
I am happy with our trailer because it suites what we had to do and was funny and
interesting at the same time and I think that it had a balanced of modern and traditional
ideas. I think that the lighting is good because it is not dark which make the trailer sad
and dull but it is bright and colourful to make the audience feel happy
It does meet the target audience of teenager to adults because it has good comedy that
this age group would understand. This would not be good for an 5 - 10 year old because
they might not get the jokes that are said.
I think that the idea has been done before but we have tried to put are own perspective
on it. And try to make it unique to all the other spoof crime drama.
I received my class mates feed back to my trailer i and they said that the dialogues of the
different scene are to quite and some of the dialogue cannot be heard. Also the clips
could be arranged differently to make more impact on the trailer.
