1. My evaluation Krave killer
`
• Does it meet the target audience you planned it for?
• Do you think its an original idea?
• How was it received by the class? Do you agree with their feedback?
Well as we have just started I wasn’t very good at editing but as it was my first go I think I did okay. I
could have tried better, but editing was hard. The strengths of the project were the making of the
props. We made the police tape and Krave box. The music choice was also good as it went well with
the trailer and made it look and sound a lot better.
First of all we planned out a story board as a group and decided what are story line was going to be.
We then decided what locations we wanted to film and then took photos of the locations. Once we
had got all are story line, locations and story board done we started filming. Once all the filming was
done we started editing.
Are group had a lot of team work; everyone was helping and getting involved with the filming editing
and overall. The whole group gave equal input throughout the project. If someone didn’t like
something they would say and we would all decide whether we should change it or not. This helped
as it was constructive criticism for the whole group and showing that we were open to this and were
willing to change is trailer to make it better.
We started out by choosing the clips of video that we wanted and got rid of the ones that were non-
useable. This created a clean space for us to work in. So we then moved on to ordering the clips
making sure they order made sense. Then as a group we watch each clip through and cropped out the
bits of the video that were not needed and this made them 3-9 second long clips. Once we had done
this and all the clips were in order and all the group members had watch through we rendered the
whole trailer to make sure we didn’t lose it for when we used it next. Finally we edited scenes in the
middle where text would appear saying quotes like ‘watch out for the krave killer.’ We also added on
the end out in cinemas now and the date this would be happening. WE made it so the text would fly in
to the screen an changed the text to make it look more appealing to the audience.
I think our trailer shows what our movie would be about. It’s also got humour so it’s not so serious.
This fit into are target audience showing that it’s not aimed at an older range of people because they
wouldn’t get the humour. The Idea of krave killer is very original. We researched beforehand to see if
this had already been done and it hadn’t and nothing of the same had been created therefore are idea
was creative.
When we had showed the class we received mixed feedback. Most of the class got the humour and
liked it however some thought I could have been improved. The people that didn’t like it as much said
that the camera angles could have been improved and the locations of each shot could have been
better. I would agree with this but as we were restricted to only the school because It was hard to get
the whole group to go places all together because it was a large amount of people taking part.
I am sure as time goes on out skills will develop and we will get better and different things. I feel this
was a good project to start with it was very fun and creative getting everyone involved and trying out
new skills throughout the project. It was hard to get screen shots from editing because everyone did
different bit and put it all together. Therefore it was constantly going back of forth getting different
ideas all the time. Out group mate Aaron had the final trailer and we didn’t get any screen shots from
the process.
