Interview Population
• Fresh Business Graduates of Pakistani Universities in first step
• Interview of done in unstructured format
• HR experts, on-job guys and employers were interviewed to dig inside the issue in second
phase
Major Issue Faced by Students
• “Only candidates with reference get a call for job”
• “We know very little where to apply because many of the job are not advertised and are
filled without it”
• “If you don’t know someone inside industry its hard to get a job”
• “You must know a very high post person in order to get inside a multi national organization”
Concerns of Employers
• “We prefer that we hire from some reference as it gives us a better candidate”
• “Our experience of CV tells that most of them doesn’t have any differentiating factor”
• “We get so many irrelevant applications that its difficult to filter out”
Gap Analysis
• There is a lack of communication for needs of market and graduate understanding.
• Role of educational institutions and HR to be enhanced to bridge the gap.
What was missed previously
A Clear Problem Statement
So it is defined below
“Young Business graduates in Pakistan find it difficult
to get a good job without reference in industry while
HR has concerns on graduate applying and attempting
a job making a justification for this. There is stressful
desperation among the young graduates which we
are going to address”
Solutions
1. Make student placement center in university
2. University contact companies to hire their students
3. University hire a company to get their students job
4. Companies refine their recruitment process
5. Students have better networking chances through
communities
6. Student protest publically on the issue
7. Companies make universities and only admit students
they can give job
8. Students leave job search and do entrepreneurship
9. Students use their references to get job
10.Students bribe to get job

11.University give job to all students within campus
12.Government pay all the students a stipends till job
13.Government enforce job placement procedures
14.Government limit the number of students to
available jobs to balance supply and demand of
market
15.Government have contracts with other countries
to send unemployed graduates to foreign

47. Graduated ask their parents to get them jobs
48. University create entrepreneurial cells to promote
entrepreneurship
49. Contact venture lab to conduct a MOOC on issue
50. Go to some other country. You can get a job there
51. Develop skills that best suit the requirement of job
Best Solutions
For this Part, I Refer to previous learning from “Crash
Course on Creativity” and use the method “Connect
and Combine”
For most practical solution I combine two points and
recommend that companies must develop scrutiny
process and train students during their studies to
company required level. This gives a fair chance to all
students and a better candidate pool to companies.
Best Solutions
For most disruptive idea, I combine researching the
gap, identification of root causes, development of
processes to address those ideas
For personal favorite I go for entrepreneurship ideas
and strongly urge institutes, companies, government
and other stake holders to encourage it
Last but not Least
Thanks to the peer evaluators for reading such a lengthy
text. I know it was boring and I am sorry for that

deliberately missed two numbers in 51 numbered ideas
and a time pass for those who missed to find which two I
missed

  • 1. Ideate Young Graduate Students’ Problem By Mirza Ali Imran Baig

What was done previously Interview Population • Fresh Business Graduates of Pakistani Universities in first step • Interview of done in unstructured format • HR experts, on-job guys and employers were interviewed to dig inside the issue in second phase Major Issue Faced by Students • “Only candidates with reference get a call for job” • “We know very little where to apply because many of the job are not advertised and are filled without it” • “If you don’t know someone inside industry its hard to get a job” • “You must know a very high post person in order to get inside a multi national organization” Concerns of Employers • “We prefer that we hire from some reference as it gives us a better candidate” • “Our experience of CV tells that most of them doesn’t have any differentiating factor” • “We get so many irrelevant applications that its difficult to filter out” Gap Analysis • There is a lack of communication for needs of market and graduate understanding. • Role of educational institutions and HR to be enhanced to bridge the gap.

What was missed previously A Clear Problem Statement So it is defined below “Young Business graduates in Pakistan find it difficult to get a good job without reference in industry while HR has concerns on graduate applying and attempting a job making a justification for this. There is stressful desperation among the young graduates which we are going to address”
  • 4. Solutions 1. Make student placement center in university 2. University contact companies to hire their students 3. University hire a company to get their students job 4. Companies refine their recruitment process 5. Students have better networking chances through communities 6. Student protest publically on the issue 7. Companies make universities and only admit students they can give job 8. Students leave job search and do entrepreneurship 9. Students use their references to get job 10.Students bribe to get job

Solutions 11.University give job to all students within campus 12.Government pay all the students a stipends till job 13.Government enforce job placement procedures 14.Government limit the number of students to available jobs to balance supply and demand of market 15.Government have contracts with other countries to send unemployed graduates to foreign 16.Government support new ventures to get more job in market
  • 6. Solutions 17.Students make a change union to bring reforms 18.Student and HR together sort out the best solution 19.DO nothing. Let it be this way 20.Hire industry professionals in universities to bridge the gap 21.Make training programs to educate students for career counseling 22.Create pressure groups to change hiring procedures 23.Make a facebook page for all affected and say out their stress 24.Use Social Media to raise the voice on issue

Solutions 26.Make a recruitment company and change the things to better 27.Research on the gap and write scholarly papers 28.Interview large number of HR people and executives and publish it 29.Discuss the issue with group heads and ask for solution 30.Make quota for each university professor to recommend students 31.Select the students based on their grades only 32.Pool all the CVs, draw a few to give job by luck

Solutions 34.Hire psychiatrists in universities to kill out stress 35.Develop job sites to help students get jobs 36.Companies hire everyone applying 37.Make everybody rich so that no one need a job (unlimited budget solution from instructions) 38.Make job criteria tougher than current ones to more shorten the jobs 39.Allow open begging so job is not required 40.Do not study cause it has problems
  • 9. Solutions 41. Take DTAL course and think out a solution yourself 42. Company hold competitions for job placements 43. Ask the economists to help 44. Graduates start doing crimes 45. Student ask bill gates for donation so they don’t need a job 46. Graduates not getting job commit suicide 47. Graduated ask their parents to get them jobs 48. University create entrepreneurial cells to promote entrepreneurship 49. Contact venture lab to conduct a MOOC on issue 50. Go to some other country. You can get a job there 51. Develop skills that best suit the requirement of job

Best Solutions For this Part, I Refer to previous learning from “Crash Course on Creativity” and use the method “Connect and Combine” For most practical solution I combine two points and recommend that companies must develop scrutiny process and train students during their studies to company required level. This gives a fair chance to all students and a better candidate pool to companies.
  • 11. Best Solutions For most disruptive idea, I combine researching the gap, identification of root causes, development of processes to address those ideas For personal favorite I go for entrepreneurship ideas and strongly urge institutes, companies, government and other stake holders to encourage it
  • 12. Last but not Least Thanks to the peer evaluators for reading such a lengthy text. I know it was boring and I am sorry for that Thumbs up to those observers who figured out that I deliberately missed two numbers in 51 numbered ideas and a time pass for those who missed to find which two I missed Please do not rate me 3 for 49 ideas as I did generate 3 more connect and combine ideas to make total of 52 and I have more but thought to leave some fun behind
