Abstract
The main objective of my paper " Effects of skill development courses in someone's career " is to
comprehend the outcomes of skill development programs in 3 diverse domains. The most utmost
benefit of the skill development program is that one who went through a skill training program
and obtained some solid skills will stay one step ahead in the race of getting employment
compared to those who do not have any practical skills. Where the traditional education system
failed for many being denied the opportunity to enter the workforce, their skills development
training programs came out to be promising and successfully able to minimize and bridge the
deficit gap by building a competent workforce. Consequently, more women are joining the
workforce nowadays and as a result, our economy is thriving. This is not uncommon that after
completion of the skill training program many started their own business or new training center
where they lead new generations. This study can also help to pinpoint our research related
problems and overcome them.

Introduction
Our current world is rapidly changing. Due to globalization, the competition of job
seekers is now not limited to our own country. There is no alternative for skill development to
survive in this global competition. Change is happening very fast in our country, and our
education system has not been adapted to suit that change. So, most of the students are found to
be unemployed after graduation due to traditional certificate-based education. Most students do
not want to understand that skills development outside of formal education is significant to
survive in today's competitive world. Due to the lack of skilled human resources, foreigners are
employed in the private sector, especially in the garment industry, in higher-paid positions.
Therefore, the policy emphasis should not only be on creating employment opportunities, but
also on providing employees with opportunities through structured institutional structures to get
good jobs with steady earnings and the development of skills through education and training will
play an important role in achieving such a goal. ("Bangladesh should focus on skills
development for growth in labour market - CPD RMG Study", 2021). Most of the educated
people cannot do the basic necessary household chores well, let alone getting a job by submitting
the conventional education certificate. Doing proper skill development courses will put them far
ahead of other competitors in getting jobs based on the right skills. Skill development courses
can put them far ahead of other competitors in the race for qualifications. There are effects of
skill development courses in someone's career. In this research, I have tried to show the
importance of skill development for an educated, uneducated woman and disabled people to get
a job and positively impact their lives. I tried to figure out how skill development courses can
enhance their job opportunities with a much better salary. I expect that people can understand
why we should do skill development courses and what kind of impact a person can have after
taking skill development courses.
7. Page | 3
Objectives of the Study
Skill development has become crucial for landing a job nowadays. First of all, skilled
development courses can enhance job opportunities for different types of people, such as
educated people or uneducated people or even people with disabilities. Secondly, Skill
development courses have an impact on women empowerment and driving them forward with
men evenly. Finally, A skilled person can guide other people on the path to grow skills and make
them self-dependent.
The problem is that there is a massive demand for the skill with traditional education, which can
help a person in a future job, business, and help to empower women. The solution is that skill
development courses can help solve or reduce these problems and help to succeed.

Research Methodology
Primary Research: I conducted a survey for my primary study, where I wanted to find
out how courses for skill development would improve our job opportunities. Right now, we are
not allowed to go outside because of the pandemic so I use the method of google survey from to
survey the respondents. After finishing the survey and collecting the respondent’s response I use
their responses for my research. The primary analysis was focused on a target population
between the ages of 18-45. They were given a survey questionnaire containing a variety of
questions related to the research subject. There are 10 questions with multiple-choice choices in
the questionnaire. The survey focused on study-related issues. Twenty random students (NSU,
BRAC, BUET, DU), teachers, physicians, corporate employees and businessmen were surveyed.
It was carried out on the 26th of December 2020.
Secondary Research: Secondary studies were very important and crucial to prove my
hypothesis. I gathered knowledge from different outlets, such as the internet, journals, for my
secondary research. I have used Google, Yahoo & Bing search engines to search for details on
the internet. I've been gathering data from a number of different blogs, newspapers, journals. To
do my research paper, I also found some YouTube interviews and videos that also guided me.
The information’s which I have collected through the survey I am going to present them
with the help of charts. To show the respondents’ opinions I am using percentage in chart.

Suggestions/Solutions/Recommendations
The first question was, ‘‘Do you have any idea about skill development courses?’’. In 1st
question, most people (90%) have an idea about skill development courses and think skill
development courses are effective. The creation of employee skills is a collaborative effort
between employers and their employees aimed at developing employee awareness and skills.
("Advantages of Employee Skills Development for Businesses", 2020).
My Suggestions/Solutions/Recommendations will be:
⮚ We live in a world where additional skill development courses are useful, and people
should know about those skill development courses.
⮚ Knowledge is a thing which will never be a wastage, so gain an idea about extra ability
always grateful.
The second question was, "Did you do any skill development course ever?". In the 2nd question,
most people (75%) did skill development courses. Employee professional development systems
are structured to refine the employee's skills to help them fulfill future requirements.
("Advantages of Employee Skills Development for Businesses", 2020).
My Suggestions/Solutions/Recommendations will be:
⮚ Extra knowledge means extra advantage and better understand. Skill development
courses always provide these. So, it's better to grab those opportunities.
⮚ Skill development courses are beneficial to the employee as well as the organization they
work in. So, focus on skill development courses is proven helpful.
21. Page | 17
The third question was, "Do you think that the people of our country are suffering from a lack of
skills?". In the 3rd question, most people (80%) think that a huge number of people are suffering
from a lack of skills in our country. A better-skilled workforce would enable Bangladesh to take
advantage of new economic opportunities and improve the job options of its growing workforce.
("Skills and employability in Bangladesh (ILO in Bangladesh)", 2020)
My Suggestions/Solutions/Recommendations will be:
⮚ Many people suffer from a lack of skill; that's why they are not getting their expected job
because they have only academic excellence, not outside knowledge. So, skill
development courses can be one of the most helpful elements.
⮚ Many people are getting jobs, but they don't get a promotion due to a lack of skill. Skill
development courses can bring them out from this problem.
The fourth question was, "What kind of people need a development course?". In the 4th question,
most people (80%) think that both educated and uneducated people need skill development
courses. The absence of qualified workers ranks second on the list of factors unfavorable to
Bangladesh's business environment, according to the survey of employers, which was next cited
after the issue of electricity. ("Bangladesh should focus on skills development for growth in
labour market - CPD RMG Study", 2020).
My Suggestions/Solutions/Recommendations will be:
⮚ Both educated and uneducated people need skill development courses to enhance their
performance. Educated people can use the benefit of skill development course in their job
or business sector.
⮚ People who are uneducated can-do skill development courses that can teach them
technical knowledge and help them make earning systems.
22. Page | 18
The fifth question was, "Why do people need to do skill development courses?". In the 5th
question, most people (35%) think that people need to do skill development courses for their
future benefit and also (35%) believe that people need to do skill development courses for their
job facilities. Skill learning increases and enhances the earning potential of a person.
Nevertheless, the state can also turn the nation's population into a more efficient one and thereby
contribute enormously to the growth momentum of an economy. ("Bangladesh should focus on
skills development for growth in labour market - CPD RMG Study", 2020).
My Suggestions/Solutions/Recommendations will be:
⮚ In this era of competition, recruiter always finds extra skills when they take interviews of
candidates. These skill development courses can be a significant weapon to make the
future better and help get a job.
⮚ Skill development courses can help an employee perform better than other employees,
providing extra employee satisfaction to work better.
The sixth question was, "Is it important for every student to learn any kind of skill set?". In the
6th question, most people (75%) think that skill development courses are important for every
student to learn, and it is important for future career prospects. Strategies to help students
develop skill sets required for successful careers include providing student skills classes,
incorporating student-skill-focused activities into daily curricular offerings, and involving
students in study and internship experiences. ("Development of Student Skills for Academic and
Professional Success - American Chemical Society", 2020).
My Suggestions/Solutions/Recommendations will be:
⮚ For building a successful career, skill sets are essential, and it will help to be unique from
others. These skill sets will maximize the development of one career.
⮚ Skill development courses provide a hands-on experience, which is much more helpful
than traditional education system learning.
23. Page | 19
The seventh question was, ‘‘What kind of benefits do people get while working after skill
development?’’. In the 7th question, most people (68.4%) think that by doing skill development
courses, people benefit most, which is skill development courses help enhance performance.
Personal development skills are traits and abilities that help you grow personally and
professionally, and this approach is known as self-development or personal development.
(Abbott, 1998)
My Suggestions/Solutions/Recommendations will be:
⮚ To enhance performance, people need various kinds of skills. Different skills help one for
doing a task/job better than others. So, doing skill development courses can play a
significant role in enhancing one’s performance.
⮚ By doing skill development courses, people will be more efficient in attaining their goals,
enhancing the qualities to reach the potential.
The eighth question was, ‘‘Skill development courses can impact on women empowerment?’’.
In the 8th question, most people (40%) agreed that skill development courses could impact
women empowerment, and the same number (40%) didn’t agree and disagree; they choose the
option neutral. Socio-economic development must empower women socially, economically,
educationally, politically, and legally. If given a chance, women can handle it. The need for the
hour is a useful skill development method to convert its demographic dividend. (Vyas, 2018)
My Suggestions/Solutions/Recommendations will be:
⮚ In the world, women playing the right role and participating in the job sector, business,
etc. Women empowerment now a noticeable topic. By participating in various skill
development courses and learning skill, they are now empowering themselves. So, by
participating more, they can do more better work for them.
⮚ One of the biggest earnings for Bangladesh is the garments industry and clothing
industry, which are run by women right now. They came out from home, learn those
skills, and now earn for them and bring revenues for the country. So, this skill
development course is turning a very beneficial thing for them.
24. Page | 20
The ninth question was, ‘‘Does the skill development program solve our country's problem?’’. In
the 9th question, most people (70%) think that doing skill development courses can solve our
country’s problem partially. In today's world, education and skills are both important and
Bangladesh needs to make adequate investments in this respect. Children should not only finish
their schooling, but they should also have the skills they need to face the demands of an
increasingly complex future. (Chowdhury, 2012)
My Suggestions/Solutions/Recommendations will be:
⮚ Skill development courses provide many kinds of benefits but it cannot provide anyone
guarantee that he will do better in a certain period of time. It will take time to help
anyone. And have to keep in mind that knowledge is never a thing which will a wastage.
There are many things are related for which our development is occurring slowly but skill
development courses can play a big game to solve those problem and can help to solve
country’s problem.
⮚ As always just one thing cannot change the system of full country or cannot develop the
country. But that thing will play its part will contribute to solve the country’s problem.
The tenth question was, ‘‘Can a skilled person teach other people about a skill development
course?’’. In the 10th question, most people (50%) think that skilled people are able to teach or
provide knowledge to others about a skill development course. In terms of digital transformation,
Bangladesh's education sector is awaiting an exciting paradigm change. It is important that
institutions of education or training change their youth delivery strategies accordingly. (Mamoon
& Andaleeb, 2017)
My Suggestions/Solutions/Recommendations will be:
⮚ We always seen that people who provide education are all skilled people. Education is
thing which only skilled people can provide as because they have knowledge, they are
able to make other understand. So, take teaching from a skilled person is always
preferable.
⮚ Skilled person is holding the top positions so what they can teach no other can teach that
level. They are best in their sector and skilled they know deeply and can teach other in
25. Page | 21
depth. So, gain knowledge from a skilled person is always beneficial and effective as
well.
Conclusion
My hypothesis was matched by the data I collected and the proof that was presented. I will admit
that all of my theories were proved correct after working through my primary and secondary data
answers. This research reveals that most respondents agreed on the impact of skill development
courses in someone's career. Almost all respondents have agreed that proper training boosts a
person's self-confidence. I found out how the potentials and capabilities of educated, uneducated,
women, and disabled can increase over time by doing different skill development courses.
Students should learn skills such as networking, resume-writing, and interviewing related to
finding and seeking job opportunities and students should be aware of and prepared for the
situations they will face while working. ("Development of Student Skills for Academic and
Professional Success - American Chemical Society", 2021). In today's competitive world, only
qualified and skilled people will survive. To get fit in this super-competitive world and move our
country's economy forward, we need to realize the importance of skill development courses.
