Subject: Public review comments on Case No. 865F - 337 Ogden (Compatibility Only)
I am providing comments on Case No. 865F - 337 Ogden (Compatibility Only) in prepartion for the ARB meeting on 19
October.
This propert:y is in the Cottage District of Alamo Heights. The current structure is a cottage. However, the proposed
replacement structure is not a cottage. While it appears it may be compatible with 401 Ogden, it is not compatible with
the other cottages surrounding 337 Ogden. This is both in style and in size. The syle is contemporary both in look and
materials, and at just under 3,200 sq ft, the size is massive in comparison to its cottage neighbors. I am also gravely
concerned that the trees on the 337 Ogen property will be removed. There has been massive tree loss in the
surrounding area recently (335, 337, and 339 Abiso). The potential impact to the trees and the choice of the style and
size of the replacement structure are in direct contradiction to the City of Alamo Height’s Comprehensive Plan.
