1 Imma meta kien ilu hemm għal xi żmien, f’xi jum meta
kien waħdu, l-anġlu tal-Mulej kien ħdejh b’dawl prodiġjuż.
2 Lilu, mħasseb bid-dehra, l-anġlu li kien deher lilu, u
jipprova jikkomponih qal:
3 Tibżax, Ġoakim, u lanqas tnikket quddiemi, għax jien
anġlu tal-Mulej mibgħut minnu lilek, biex ngħarrafek, li t-

kienet il- omm taʼ Ġużeppi, li mhux biss kien gvernatur taʼ
l- Eġittu, imma ħeles lil ħafna ġnus milli jitħassru b’ ġuħ.
8 Min fost l- imħallfin kien iktar qalbieni minn Sansun,
jew iktar qaddis minn Samwel? U madankollu t-tnejn
ommijiethom kienu għerja.
9 Imma jekk ir-raġuni ma tikkonvinċikomx mill-verità ta’
kliemi, li hemm konċepimenti frekwenti fi snin avvanzati,
u li dawk li kienu għerja ħarġu għas-sorpriża kbira
tagħhom; għalhekk Anna martek iġġiblek tifla, u isimha
Marija;

poġġewha fuq wieħed minn dawn it-taraġ;
5 Imma waqt li kienu qed ineħħu ħwejjiġhom, li kienu
vjaġġaw fihom, u skond id-drawwa jilbsu xi wħud li kienu
aktar puliti u nodfa,
6 Sadanittant il-Verġni tal-Mulej b’tali mod telgħet it-taraġ
kollu wieħed wara l-ieħor, mingħajr l-għajnuna ta’ ħadd

1 Imma l-Verġni tal-Mulej, kif avvanzat fil-biżgħat, żdiedet
ukoll fil-perfezzjonijiet, u skond il-kliem tas-Salmista,
missierha u ommha abbandunawha, imma l-Mulej ħa
ħsiebha.
2 Għax hi kuljum kellha l-konverżazzjoni tal-anġli, u
kuljum rċeviet viżitaturi mingħand Alla, li ppreservaha
minn kull xorta taʼ ħażen, u ġġiegħelha titkabbar b’kull
ħaġa tajba;
3 Għalhekk, meta waslet għall-erbatax-il sena tagħha, kif
il-ħżiena ma setgħux ipoġġu fuqha xejn denju ta’ ċanfar,
hekk il-persuni tajbin kollha, li kienu midħla tagħha,
ammiraw ħajjitha u l-konversazzjoni tagħha.

Iskrittura, li tgħid, Wegħda u ħallas,
9 Min-naħa l-oħra lanqas tintroduċi drawwa, li għaliha n-
nies kienu barranin, ikkmandaw,
10 Biex fil-festa li toqrob il-persuni prinċipali kollha kemm
taʼ Ġerusalemm kif ukoll tal-postijiet ġirien għandhom
jiltaqgħu flimkien, biex ikun jistaʼ jieħu l-parir tagħhom,
kif kien l-aħjar li jipproċedi f’każ daqshekk diffiċli.
11 Meta ntlaqgħu kif xieraq, huma qablu unanimament li
jfittxu lill-Mulej, u jitolbu parir mingħandu dwar din il-
kwistjoni.
12 U meta kienu kollha mpenjati fit-talb, il-qassis il-kbir,
skond il-mod tas-soltu, mar jikkonsulta lil Alla.
13 U mill-ewwel kien hemm leħen mill-arka, u mis-sit tal-
ħniena, li kollha preżenti semgħu, li jrid jiġi mistoqsi jew
imfittex permezz ta’ profezija ta’ Isaija lil min għandha
tingħata u tiġi mgħarrsa l-Verġni;
14 Għax Isaija jgħid, se toħroġ virga minn zokk Ġesse, u
fjura toħroġ mill-għerq tagħha,
15 U l-Ispirtu tal-Mulej jistrieħ fuqu, l-Ispirtu tal-Għerf u l-
Fehim, l-Ispirtu tal-Parir u l-Qawwa, l-Ispirtu tal-Għarfien
u l-Pietà, u l-Ispirtu tal-biżaʼ tal-Mulej jimlewh.
16 Imbagħad, skond din il-profezija, ħatar, li l-irġiel kollha
tad-dar u tal-familja taʼ David, li kienu miżżewġin, u mhux
miżżewġin, iġibu l-bastun tagħhom fuq l-artal,
17 U minn kull virga taʼ kull persuna wara li tkun inġiebet,
għandha tinbet fjura, u fuqha l-Ispirtu tal-Mulej għandu
joqgħod fid-dehra ta’ ħamiema, hu għandu jkun il-bniedem
li l-Verġni għandha tingħata. u tkun għarusa.
KAPITOLU 6
1 Fost il-bqija kien hemm raġel jismu Ġużeppi, mid-dar u
l-familja taʼ David, u bniedem avvanzat ħafna fis-snin, li
ġibed lura l-bastun tiegħu, meta kull wieħed barra minn
hekk ippreżenta tiegħu.
2 Allura meta xejn ma deher jaqbel mal-leħen tas-sema, il-
qassis il-kbir qies li kien xieraq li jerġa’ jikkonsulta lil Alla,
3 Min wieġeb li dak li l-Verġni kellha tiġi għarusa kien l-
uniku persuna minn dawk li nġabru flimkien, li ma kienx
ġabu l-bastun tiegħu.
4 Għalhekk Ġużeppi ġie tradit.
5 Għax, meta ġab il-qasba tiegħu, u ħamiema ġejja mis-
Sema imqiegħda fuqha, kulħadd ra b’mod ċar, li l-Verġni
kellha tiġi għarusa miegħu:
6 Għalhekk, iċ-ċerimonji tas-soltu tal-għarajjes spiċċaw, hu
mar lura lejn il-belt tiegħu stess ta’ Betlehem, biex jirranġa
daru, u jagħmel il-bżonn għaż-żwieġ.
7 Imma l-Verġni tal-Mulej, Marija, ma’ seba’ verġni oħra
tal-istess età, li kienu miftuma fl-istess żmien, u li kienu
ġew maħtura biex jattenduha mill-qassis, reġgħu lura lejn
dar il-ġenituri tagħha fil-Galilija.
3. KAPITOLU 7
1 Issa, f’dan iż-żmien tal-ewwel daħlet tagħha fil-Galilija,
l-anġlu Gabrijel intbagħat lilha mingħand Alla, biex
jiddikjaralha t-tnissil tas-Salvatur tagħna, u l-mod u l-mod
kif kienet tnissilha.
2 Għalhekk, daħal fiha, imla l-kamra fejn kienet hi b’dawl
prodiġjuż, u sellemha bl-aktar mod korteżis, u qal:
3 Is-sliem, Marija! Verġni tal-Mulej l-aktar aċċettabbli! O
Verġni mimlija bil-Grazzja! Il-Mulej miegħek, intom
mbierka fuq in-nisa kollha, intom mbierka fuq l-irġiel
kollha, dak. twieldu sa issa.
4 Imma l-Verġni, li qabel kienet taf sewwa l-wiċċ tal-anġli,
u li għaliha dawl bħal dan mis-sema ma kienx ħaġa rari,
5 La kien imwerwer bil-viżjoni tal-anġlu, u lanqas
mistagħġeb bil-kobor tad-dawl, imma biss inkwetat bil-
kliem tal-anġlu:
6 U beda jikkunsidra x’għandha tfisser tislima tant
straordinarja, x’kienet tipprevedi, jew x’tip taʼ tmiem se
jkollha.
7 Għal dan il-ħsieb iwieġeb l-anġlu, ispirat minn Alla;
8 Tibżax, Marija, bħallikieku jien ridt xi ħaġa inkonsistenti
mal-kastità tiegħek f’din it-tislima:
9 Għax int sibt grazzja mal-Mulej, għax għamilt il-
verġinità l-għażla tiegħek.
10 Għalhekk, waqt li tkun Verġni, għandek tnisslet bla
dnub, u tnisslet iben.
11 Huwa għandu jkun kbir, għax għandu jsaltan minn
baħar sa baħar, u mix-xmajjar sa truf l-art.
12 U għandu jissejjaħ Bin l-Ogħla; għax min twieled fi stat
ħażin fuq l-art isaltan fi wieħed għola fis-sema.
13 U l-Mulej jagħtih it-tron taʼ missieru David, u jsaltan
fuq dar Ġakobb għal dejjem, u s-saltna tiegħu ma jkunx
hemm tmiem.
14 Għax hu s-Sultan tas-Slaten, u Sid il-Mulej, u t-tron
tiegħu hu għal dejjem taʼ dejjem.
15 Għal dan id-diskors tal-anġlu l-Verġni ma wieġbitx,
bħallikieku ma temminx, imma lesta li tkun taf il-mod
tiegħu.
16 Hi qalet, Kif jista’ jkun? Talli rajt, skond il-vot tiegħi,
qatt ma kont naf lil xi raġel, kif nista’ nġarr tarbija
mingħajr iż-żieda taż-żerriegħa ta’ raġel?
17 Għal dan, l-anġlu wieġeb u qal: La taħsibx, Marija, li int
se tfassal bil-mod ordinarju.
18 Għax, mingħajr ma timtedd maʼ raġel, waqt li tkun
Verġni, int taħseb; filwaqt li Verġni, inti għandha tnissel; u
filwaqt li Verġni għandha terda’.
19 Għax l-Ispirtu s-Santu jiġi fuqkom, u l-qawwa ta’ l-Iktar
Għoli tgħibkom dell, mingħajr ebda sħana tax-xewqa.
20 Mela dak li jitwieled minnkom ikun qaddis biss, ikun.
għaliex hija biss hija mnissla mingħajr dnub, u li titwieled,
għandu jissejjaħ l-Iben ta 'Alla.
21 Imbagħad Marija ġġendiet idejha, u għollet għajnejha
lejn is-sema, qalet: “Ara l-qaddejja tal-Mulej! Ħa jkun lili
skond kelmtek.
KAPITOLU 8
1 Għalhekk Ġużeppi mar mill-Lhudija għall-Galilija, bil-
ħsieb li jiżżewweġ lill-Verġni li kienet għarusa miegħu;
2 Għax issa kienu qrib tliet xhur minn meta kienet għarusa
miegħu.
3 Fl-aħħar dehret ċar li kienet ttqal, u ma setgħetx tinħeba
minn Ġużeppi:
4 Għax imur ħdejn il-Verġni b’mod ħieles, kif wieħed
miżżewweġ, u jitkellem familjari magħha, hu ħass li kienet
qed titkabbar.
5 U allura beda jkun inċert u dubjuż, ma kienx jaf x’triq
kien ikun aħjar li tieħu;
6 Għax kien raġel ġust, ma kienx lest jikxefha, u lanqas
iffafamaha bis-suspett li hu prostituta, peress li kien raġel
piju.
7 Għalhekk kellu l-iskop li privatament iwaqqaf il-ftehim
tagħhom, u bħala privatament li jwarrabha.
8 Imma waqt li kien qed jimmedita dawn l-affarijiet, ara l-
anġlu tal-Mulej deherlu fl-irqad, u qal Ġużeppi, bin David,
tibżax;
9 Ikunu lesti li tilqgħu l-ebda suspett li l-Verġni hija ħatja
taż-żína, jew li taħsbu xi ħaġa ħażina minnha, la tibżgħux
teħodha għall-mara;
10 Għax dak li hu mnissel Fiha u li issa jnikket moħħok,
mhuwiex xogħol il-bniedem, imma l-Ispirtu s-Santu.
11 Għax hi min-nisa kollha l-unika Verġni li tnissel l-Iben
ta’ Alla, u intom isejħulu Ġesù, jiġifieri s-Salvatur, għax hu
jsalva lill-poplu tiegħu minn dnubiethom.
12 Imbagħad Ġużeppi, skont il-kmand tal-anġlu, iżżewweġ
lill-Verġni, u ma għarafhiex, imma żammha fil-kastità.
13 U issa wasal id-disaʼ xahar mit-tnissil tagħha, meta
Ġużeppi ħa lil martu u x’affarijiet oħra kienu meħtieġa
għal Betlehem, il-belt minn fejn ġie.
14 U ġara li, waqt li kienu hemm, tlestiet il-ġranet għat-
tnissil tagħha.
15 U ġabet lil binha l-ewwel imwieled, kif għallmu l-
Evanġelisti qaddisa, anki Sidna Ġesù Kristu, li mal-Missier,
l-Iben u l-Ispirtu s-Santu, jgħix u jsaltan għal żmien ta’
dejjem.
