Provide detailed descriptions from chosen examples that establish…
Clearly state what production technique(s) you think have
been used to create specific soundtrack elements
Setting
The ambient background music establishes the setting of the destroyed city that the
three characters are in the middle of.
This could have been composed on a computer.
Mood
The music and voice actors help give the mood of calmness to anger as Dante and
Vergil talk and argue over whether they should rule over humanity.
Game genre
The game has a hack and slash genre, the sound and music is meant to go with the
dark, action theme that the game has, most music throughout the game is fast
paced but there are sound tracks like the one in this scene that are slower and add
more to the drama side of the game.
The change in the music could have been done
using a combination of the music being recorded
(for example, the guitar) and other parts being
made on a computer.
The swords clashing sound effect could have been
created simply by banging two metal objects
together and then altering it slightly to sound
more like a couple of swords hitting each other.
Narrative
The dialog, I think, is well written. For example, when Vergil is trying to convince
Dante that he’s right. Vergil sounds quite worried when he realises that Dante
doesn’t agree with him.
This would have been completely on the voice
actors to make the characters sound the way they
do.
