Provide detailed descriptions from chosen examples that establish… Clearly state what production technique(s) you think have
been used to create specific soundtrack elements
Setting The first couple of minutes of the trailer seem to make listener believe that the
game is going to be a non-horror game, as the background music indicates that.
Minutes into the trailer you can hear that chaos slowly starts to break loose. With a
woman starting to scream in the background which indicates that maybe she is
being attacked. Then you hear glass breaking and a man saying something in the
distance, with a couple of shots being fired after it goes quiet. As the background
music continues to play, there’s a sound of a car engine slowly approaching then
screeches up and then crashing into some sort of object. Dead Island 2 is an
upcoming action role-playing, survival horror video game developed by German
developer Yager Development and published by Deep Silver for Microsoft Windows,
PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
The background music itself was probably used by
using a purchased license to use the music n the
trailer. Many other sounds were probably
edited/reedited to create various sounds for the
cars/screaming etc. All through audio production
software etc.
Mood The mood seems to be slight horroish but isn’t nothing as serious as a horror game
itself. It really is like a goofy sort of fun action game, instead of it basing its game on
trying to scare you its intention are for fun and to be an easy game.

Game genre
First person, survival horror, action
The sounds were perhaps manipulated in some
sort of engine.

Half way throught the trailer chaos breaks loose, and you can faintly hear shotgun
shots being fire in the background. And people screaming for help. This could lead
the listener to believe the video game is an action shooter. But that’s all the trailer
leads the listener to believe.
Narrative
There is no narrative till the end of the trailer where there is 2 guys arguing.
Recorded in some sort of recording booth with a
high quality microphone.
