2. Picture boosts - The picture boosts on
this page are centred around the
middle. This is done so they are the
focus point and the first thing you see
upon opening the page.
Columns - The text on the page is
located on the right hand side and
bottom. The text relating to the
articles in laid out in rows so the text is
broken up and easier to read. The text
also gives the reader an idea of what
to expect on that article or page.
Images - The images on this page are
placed around the centre so they are
easy to spot and stand out. Each one
has a feature that relates to the colour
scheme of the magazine, e.g. red
feathers, red background etc.
3. Drop shadows - Not all images on this
page have drop shadows, only layered
ones. This gives the affect of better
layering and separates the images
from each other. The shadows also
make the images stand out on the
page.
Sub headings - The lesser articles on
the right hand side of the page have
sub headings that categorize them.
The headings them selves are
underlined with the red so they match
the rest of the colour scheme. This
also means the reader can easily
locate the heading they need and find
the appropriate page number.
4. Large number/text - The article
references on the main images have a
brightly coloured large number on
them which is the page number. This
helps the reader to easily locate the
page number as it stands out and
contrasts with the image. The sub
headings on the right are also
underlined so they stand out and are
easily to skim read. This decreases the
time it takes for the reader to locate
the page they require.
Colour scheme - The colour scheme
for Q magazine is red. This is a good
colour to use as it stands out on the
shelf. It is also a bright eye catching
colour so it can be used to separate
text or images.
