BACKGROUND
Zandile Faniso studied and completed a (B.Admin/Industrial Psychology) degree from the
University of the Western Cape. She graduated in 2000. Zandile started her remuneration career
as a Survey Consultant/Data Analyst in 2006 with 21st
Century Pay Solutions. Since then she has
held different positions with different organizations where she held roles such as Remuneration
Consultant, Senior Specialist Remuneration and most recently with ADvTECH, Cell C, AFGRI as
Group Remuneration and Benefits Manager. Zandile has been trained and has vast experience
(10 years) on many aspects of Technical Remuneration such as:
 Job Profile and Job Description Writing
 Job Evaluation, (Hay, Paterson, Peromnes, Task)

SERVICE OFFERING, METHODOLOGY, APPROACH AND PRICING
Job Profile and Job Description Writing Job Analysis is conducted through Questionnaires that
are sent to HR Management and Line Management. These are followed by One on One and half
hour interview sessions with Line Management and HR Representatives. The job profile is then
calibrated against similar positions in the market and is then signed off by line management and
Human Resources. The price to write a Job Profile is R850 excl. vat for a General Staff
Position and R1 230 excl. vat for a Senior Management or Executive position (Senior
Management/Executive role are those that are currently on Paterson E Band and above).
Job Evaluation and Facilitation
Job evaluations are conducted using Paterson, Hay, Peromnes and Task methodologies. A
current job description is reviewed using questionnaires as well as Line management interviews
with HR representatives. In an event where organizations have online Job Evaluation Systems
like J EASY and HAY Decision Tree, Facilitation is then provided. Existing organization structures
are confirmed and calibrated with Line Management and HR. The price to evaluate a Job is
R850 excl. vat for a General Staff Position and R1 230 excl. vat for a Senior Management
or Executive position (Senior Management/Executive role are those that are currently on
Paterson E Band and above).
Remuneration Strategy and Philosophy
Remuneration Strategy and Philosophy design, is done through a proposal format where a brief
is received from a prospective client, Preliminary consultation is charged at R750 excl vat per
hour. A tailor made remuneration strategy and philosophy is designed based on client
requirements and work is commenced upon approval of the proposal by authorized officials within
a particular organization.
Salary Structuring and Benchmarking of Salaries
Market Data is provided for requested positions. The data is taken from the data base of National
and Industry specific data. Data is then compared and benchmarked against other existing survey
houses for the best in class result. Data is provided in the form of quartiles AND when company
actuals are given, A compa ratio and cost analyses is given in the form of the report. Data
is priced at R 490 per General Staff position and R900 excl vat for Senior Management or
Executive position. (Senior Management/Executive role are those that are currently on Paterson
E Band and above).
Surveys and Reward Analytics
Surveys are conducted on request of client. Typical Surveys conducted are as follows:
Snap Surveys These are conducted based on client requirements to gauge competitor practice
before and during salary review periods and Annual Cash Bonus Payments.
Benefit Surveys – Are conducted to look at the market with regards to different benefits such as
Pension/Provident funds, Car Schemes, Bonus Schemes, Adhoc bonuses (ex Gratia) and various
other benefits including non-cash benefits such as leave and work from home benefits.
Market Surveys to look at local and Global Market Trends
Reward Analytics
Current Company data is looked at using current pay actuals from a particular company and a
compa ratio database is developed and information is also provided in graphical format (Column
Charts and Scatter Graphs) to depict trends in different job families and/or divisions within a
particular company. The analysis is charged as follows:

Salary Review Processes and Guidelines– Creating Pay for Performance Cultures
Preparation for Salary Review Processes - Drafting and preparing documentation for Salary
Budgets, conducting analysis, preparing spreadsheets with internal data to guide the salary
review process by:
 Drafting and workshopping existing salary review guidelines
 Developing matrices (to encourage the pay for performance culture)
 Conducting pre and post calibration sessions (Round Table) with line and HR
representatives
 Administrative processes - Preparing and Distributing Pay Discussion Guides and
/or letters to employees
The pricing is based on time spent on client premises and what is briefed and agreed upon by
client as stipulated on the proposal. Consultation will be priced between R500 and R700 per
hour excluding VAT.
Remuneration and Administrative Audits
Available as a resource to assist clients during different types of Audits such as
 Internal Control Audits (HR)
 BEE Audits
 Remuneration Audits
Pricing for assisting during Internal and External Audits is charged at R700 per hour excl. Vat.
Job Matching/Creating Salary Books/Tools for the HR community
The job matching will be conducted using the internal market data available at respective
companies. Interviews will be conducted with Line management and HR representatives. Salary
Books and tools will be created for HR communities by matching and providing
appropriate salary scales as laid down in the remuneration philosophy documents. The job
matching and salary books will be priced as follows:
