2. I need to start thinking of what my text will be for my title
cards. I will look at a few examples from contemporary
horror trailers for inspiration.
3. These 3 screenshots have been taken from the trailer for ‘The
hallow’. They all feature the same background which seems like
branches or twigs to be portrayed in a negative and scary way. It
links in with the text itself of saying ‘darkest side of nature’. It allows
the audience to get a sense of the narrative.
4. I really love the title cards for this film! These screenshots are from
the trailer to Krumpus. I love the title cards because it mimics the
famous christmas song ‘Santa clause is coming to town’. It gives a
sinister feel as ‘He known if you’ve been bad or good’, connoting the
evil entity is watching over them at all times. I feel this is a good
technique and will try to use this idea to fit my trailer.
5. Thinking of the texts I could possibly use:
- A Year Later
- From the Director of ‘The Follower’, ’24 Days’
- Once you see her
- She will never leave
- Running wont help
- Based on the true Vaur murder case
- Last Summer
- They Killed children
- She’s back
- Two Sister’s
- In a Sinister house
- The truth will be revealed

- From the Director of ‘The Follower’, ’24
Days’
Most people agreed that this will be effective in
the film trailer; I also know as a media student
that this is a good technique used so I will be
using this as a title card.
- Once you see her
- She will never leave
Majority of people said that this will be effective. I
also received comments of people saying that it
will be more effective if they were on consecutive
separate slides. I will be using this.0

7. - Running wont help
Majority of the people said that this wouldn't be
as effective as a title card. I started to think as
well, and its bit cliche that this is written in title
cards and often doesn't scare the audience or
build tension. So I wont be using this.0

- Based on the true Vaur murder case
This was the only one that received 10/10. The
audience loved this idea as they agreed basing
a film on a true story scares them. So I will be
using this.

This was another one where the audience
didn't see as a good choice. Im in two minds
myself, however there is a chance that I will
consider using these.

The audience were half for this and half
against. I also feel unsure about this as it
seems a little cheesy! There is a high chance I
wont use these.

The audience feedback was useful in helping me make my decisions. I also
will take more time to think of them from a media student perspective. Also,
to make sure this wasn't unfair, I used 5 females and 5 males from the
ages of 16-19, Which fits in with the age range for target audiences of
horror films.
