3. The Ward
The film The Ward was Carpenters first film since 2001.
It was released in 2011.
This film featured a psychological sense as well as a horror theme. I feel this film
had a great influence on creating my own film because It has given me the idea
to base my film about visions and mental health. The Ward consists of a woman
who had been entered into a psychiatric facility, and she believes that a dead
patient who used to stay there, is haunting her. When in reality, the character
has many split personalities due to a traumatic experience in her past.
I felt this film could be used as an influence because I like the way the ending
has a twist to it. Something the audience wouldn't’t have guessed and therefore
can come under a psychological thriller as it plays a trick on the audience.
