• To create a film based on a married couple experiencing paranormal
activity within their house. They will both see visions of ghosts and
supernatural things.
Criticism:
This idea may work well, however I feel it isn't challenging conventions at
all. The narrative will seem repeated from other films such as Paranormal
activity and The unborn. I want my film to challenge the norms and to
have a unique point at which other films don’t use.

• Create a film of Two lesbian couples, where one character is very abusive and
manipulative to their partner. She torments her and makes her go
psychologically mad. The other woman then starts seeing visions of dead
people due to her mental break down.
Criticism:
People may not be used to or want to view a film consisting of a lesbian couple to
be the main roles. However, it could be a great opportunity to challenge the
conventions. There are barely any thriller films that consist of a couple from the
same sex. It could be a new type of film to the market; however the effect of this
could mean that there wont be a large audience for this type of film and may not
do well in the box office.
Chloe is an example of a thriller consisting of
lesbians. The budget was $12-14Million but
only grossed $11million worldwide.

• To create a film about two best friends, who’s
friendship is ruined as one of them starts to abuse the
other. The other then kills her friend, resulting her to
become mentally insane and experiencing visions.
I feel this idea has potential of working, as their have
been similar films following a narrative of a abusive
friend; such as The roommate. This narrative has a target
audience already and so it will sell well.
