2. The importance of audience feedback is to know weather or not the
film is a success if the audience don’t like it then there is no way of
making much of a profit. Also if it isn’t liked then no one else is going
to go and watch the film. However if the audience feedback is
positive then more people are more likely going to go and watch it,
and it is almost like free advertisement. By having audience feedback
the film could be improved and made so more people will like it
resulting in more people going to see it and enjoy it.
3. The way I gathered audience feedback was to show my whole class my
horror trailer and after they had seen it they gave me feedback on what
could be improved and what was good about my trailer. My target
audience from my film would be late teens and adults both male and
female. The audience I got feedback off were all between the ages of 17
to 18 and mixed gender, this helped more as they were my target
audience.

The feedback that I received seem to be outlining the same things. Things that
were good about my trailer was the television scene and the camera angles.
However there were recurring issues with other things such as:
• The end scene was too dark for the audience to see what was happening
• Narrative was needed to make the storyline more understandable
• The music change wasn’t smooth
• The music didn’t fit
• Seeing the kills takes away the surprise of what’s going to happen in the film
• The ending was anti climatic
Before I had started filming my trailer I also send out a questionnaire with the
synopsis of my film idea on it, most of the feedback was positive. However others
said it needed to have more of a back story to it.
5. Using the feedback from before I had made my trailer I added more of
a back story to the trailer and added the detective’s story in. This
made it more of an exciting trailer to watch as it wasn’t just about the
murderer. With the feedback of the trailer I made the music have a
smoother transition, changed some of the music so it fitted better and
also so it didn’t create an anti-climax at the end. The end scene was
made lighter so that the audience can see what is happening and also
the murders were taken out or made so that the audience can’t see
how the murder is. I also added in some dialogue so that the storyline
was easy to follow and it didn’t feel so empty.
