Working Title: The Wanderer.
What is it called? This can change if you think of something better later
Audience: The main target audience in terms of demographics are those from a lower to
upper middle class background, with a specific focus on women in their late twenties to
early thirties, and with an NRS grade of C2 – B. Psychographically, the most prominent
VALS archetypes are Innovator, Thinker, Achiever, and Experiencer, with auxiliary
archetypes of Believer and Maker.
Who is your audience? Be very detailed; age, gender, social status, psychographic etc. Use the
Audience Classifications PowerPoint on Blackboard to help you develop this section.
Why would your project appeal to this person? Discuss each audience element in relation to
content (why would your product appeal to the age group? Why would your product appeal to the
gender? Etc.)
Rationale (approx. 100 words): The foremost reason for me pursuing the project medium is
because it is what I am best at, and that it allows me to display my talents to their fullest
degree. I have a good eye for design-based visual elements, and I thoroughly enjoy
expanding the worlds that I have the opportunity to create, whether textually or visually. I
am comfortably familiar with the software required to properly create what I have
envisioned, and the previous products I have created using it show my level of competency
in its use. It is also the medium that frustrates and confuses me the least, and in fact has a
calming effect on me, helping me to think rationally and productively.
Review your progress throughout the year- what skills and knowledge have you acquired?
How has the subjects you have studied this year informed your choice for this project?
What have you studied and how will it have a direct impact upon your project?
Project Concept (approx. 200 words): The primary focus of my project is a series of
promotional posters and possible screenshots for a fake video game. Focus is divided
among two aspects, content and style. The game as a product is designed to be an
investigation-based, questline focused experience, with an emphasis on personal
preferences and freedom of choice. Stylistically, colour theory and the connotations
associated with different colours are used to represent the different groups within the
setting, with the main themes being ideological relationships and misconceptions. In order
to make the project the best it can be, I will need to research similar poster products,
particularly of investigation-based games. To properly follow through on the planned
themes of the product, I will need to have at least a layman’s comprehension of pre -existing
existential, psychological, and sociological ideals, as well aswhat stylistic attitudes would
best suit each area. These will help to establish what conventions are needed to set the
tone of the game and to attract the appropriate audience, and further develop the product’s
own personal appeal through the central scheme by accurately portraying the researched
elements. In terms of additional research, respectful portrayals of the beliefs and figures
included in the product will be needed to appeal to a wider audience, necessitating
research into historical and cultural resources.
What is the concept for your project and what are you going to make?
What research will you need to conduct and how will it help you make your project/
Evaluation (approx. 50 words): The main criteria for evaluation are how accurately the
posters convey the themes and the content of the game, and the overall presentation of the
project. Additional evaluation areaswould be the amount of time proportionate to the
development of the project, the efficiency of the production as a whole, and whether the
product successfully incorporates what is needed to attract the target audience.
How do you plan to evaluate the work? Reference conducting on-going evaluation and your final
self-reflection, analysing your work and its outcomes.
