Proposal
Working title:
My working title is Game Hub
Audience:
My audienceis teenagers, aged 15-24.
Using YouGov, In the UK the majority of people interested in gaming are
located in central Scotland first, then Yorkshire, and lastly the North East,
however this could be inaccurate as the sample size was just over 12,000
people. Meaningit could be very inaccurate as there is millionsof gamers
in the world, we know this down to the consoles and games sold,
meaning we only get a glimpse of this group through this survey.
The majority of my audienceis male, however there is also most likely
female people in the audienceas well. You might say that video games
are mainly aimed at men, because of many games focusing around
violence, which of course is stereotypical, but there is some form of
backing to it, certainly at one point there. This is reflecting in my
magazine, as my magazine is going to contain one of the best games of
2017, in my opinion,which is Assassins Creed Origins, which is very
violent.
My audiencetends to be the social status/social grade C2DE. This is
skilled, working class, unemployed.My audiencewill most likely fit into
these two psychographics. Emulator/wannabe: this group wants to
appearlike an achiever to attract the opposite sex or the approvalto
their peers They respond to messages about making them seem more
successful and becoming Achievers. Needsdriven: this group act upon
impulse and instinct. This group does not plan and will respond to
messages relating missing opportunitiesand impulse buying.
I think that my project would appealto my audience. Because it appeals
to the people that want to know about video games, and to the people
who like violence in video games, which is common part of many popular
and underrated video games. As I say it does also appealto the people
who just want to know the latest gaming news, in this case a piece on the
top 5 best video games of 2017, in my opinion.
Rationale:
I think have improved in a few areas through the year so far. One of
these was that I have improved in being able to use research to give a
detailedanalysisof my target audience. I have also gained a few skillsas
well like being use a camera, and using it to get certain shots, like close
up shots and long shots for example. Also I am able to a sufficient job at
editing footage into a watchable state.
Project Concept:
The concept for the project is a gaming magazine calledGame Hub. It’s
doublepage will contain my personal opinionon a game, as part of the
magazine’s content of top 5 video games of 2017. The cover image will
be of Bayek from the game assassin’s creed Origins, this should be
relevant as the game is still relativelynew in gaming. If this were a real,
product on shelves, I would say that the image would increase sales.
Evaluation:
I plan to have peopleevaluate my work, by taking a look and then giving
me theirpros and cons, and anythingthey would improve upon. I will
also try to evaluate my work throughout the coming weeks through the
blog. After everything else Is completed I will then conduct my final self-
reflection, in which I will try to reference my on-going evaluationthat
was conducted throughout the weeks of this rotation.
