2. How did we tackle the task?
Grade 5 class were set the homework task of
interviewing one of their grandparents via skype or
facetime.
Students were given the questions and had the
opportunity to add more if they wanted to.
Students were allowed to conduct the interview in their
mother tongue language then translate the answers to
English.
4. Q1 How often/long did you play
with your friends?
The majority of grandparents played with their friends everyday.
One grandparent along was able to play with their friends at the weekends.
The majority of grandparents played with their friends between 1-2 hours.
5. Q2 Did you play mostly alone or
with friends?
All grandparents spent most of their time playing with their friends.
Some grandparents did play on their own if they wanted quiet time reading a
book.
6. Q3 Where did you play mostly?
Most grandparents played outside during their childhood including,
Garden
Park
Playground
Backyard
7. Q4 what were the games you
played most?
The games grandparents played the most were outdoor games including –
Tag
Hide and Seek
Basketball
Building dens with wood
A few mentioned indoor games including –
Cards
Board games – Ludo, Snakes and Ladders
8. Q5 How did you get toys?
Most grandparents responded that they did not have toys as a child. If they
did then they were made by themselves or by their parents.
Many grandparents played games which did not require equipment.
If they were lucky they got them as a present from their parents.
