QUESTION 5
The primary target audience of my film is young adults which is
very conventional of a teen dramas however it is not as
conventional for the thriller genre that of a thriller genre so I
chosen to overcome this by challenging the conventions of
thriller films by creating a plot which would not usually be used
to convey thriller films, our characters are young and of mixed
genders which will appeal to our target audience more as they
will be able to relate these characters more
 With our target audience established we were and to create a film
that appeals to this audience.
 One of the conventions of a thriller is scenes which create
suspense and tension, I believe that this accomplished in my with
my quick paced scenes which do not give away too much of the
plot so early so I believe that we have achieved this throughout
our film as we show scenes of mystery with a book and poison
also we don’t show any faces for effect within the opening which
shows that we are not giving too much information whilst still
showing some plot which is a convention of a narrative sequence
like our own.
 The name of the film serves a purpose to the film as a whole but
we did not manage to implicate it into our opening so it remains
ambiguous which yes is not the best however this also creates
mystery which plays to our spy sub genre
The setting also plays a part as to why my film appeals to my
target audience, the film has been set in the country as well as
city where we believe that our target audience will live this
makes it easier for my audience to identify themselves with my
film as they believe that they can associate themselves with the
product.
 My costumes also plays a part to the films success amongst
my audience. The costumes used challenge the stereotypes of
teen dramas and also they are a counter type of what young
adults usually wear also however in London young male adults
do find themselves occasionally wearing suits whether it be
for educational purposes or just special occasions. And as our
male character is seen wearing a suit might appeal to them
as this will allow them to gain a sense of escapism whilst
watching our film as they cannot live the life of a spy however
they satisfy their desire be like the spy by watching our
product
 Another positive of the film is that we managed to find a to
expand our audience by making the main characters more
female than male which one is a counter type of thriller films
but also it makes the film more welcoming to females which
will result in more people coming to the cinemas to watch the
film and we will get more money as a result of this
The fast upbeat music that we have used in our film opening
raises tension and restricts our audience from any feeling of
boredom. This type is stereotypically like by young people so
they fill be more engaged whilst watching this product
The thriller genre is also getting slightly cliché and our audience
will be demanding more change and excitement to accomplish this
we implicated the spy sub genre which can act as a unique seling
point for our film as there are not many other films that make
thriller products with this sub genre. To make our films release as
effective as possible for both our primary and secondary audience I
believe two depressed releases will be appropriate. One will be
presented at the screen on the green a cinema which will be
strongly attended by youths and another one at picture house
which is mostly attended by older people
Through the use of more female than male our film will gain
more positive feedback from our audience for a number of
reasons. If we were to apply the male gaze theory to this and
assume that men only see women as objects then more
females will mean more attraction. Also we will gain a wider
audience amongst women as they will believe that we have
done something to satisfy them specifically
The Production and distribution of my film will be very independent which
means that we cannot market on a wider scale however this will be good
because this means that our techniques will be more direct towards our
target audience . To appeal to both my target audience I have made social
media accounts as young adults are stereotypically spent a lot of their time
on these media platforms .
There will also be DVD releases online on lower scale sights due to my low
budget this will appeal to my audience as both are stereotyped to be doing
things online

The Production and distribution of my film will be very independent which means that we cannot market on a wider scale however this will be good because this means that our techniques will be more direct towards our target audience . To appeal to both my target audience I have made social media accounts as young adults are stereotypically spent a lot of their time on these media platforms . There will also be DVD releases online on lower scale sights due to my low budget this will appeal to my audience as both are stereotyped to be doing things online
