A digipakisthe packagingforthe CD or DVDwhichpromotesthe artist.
What are the sizes?
Typical sizesare 14cm by 14cm to 6mm
What are the differentstyles?
The most commonand mostusedone is the 4 panel,howeverthere are manydifferenttypesof
ones, includinga6 panel one,8 and even10, theydothisso theyhave more space to show what
theywantto show.
What informationis includedinthe digipak?
Thiscan include the tracklist,maybe abitof contextof the album.The name of the album, the
name of the artistand where youcan buyit.
What is featured/highlightedonthe front? The inside?
Typicallythe artistwill be onthe frontof the cover,withthe name of the albumandalsothe artist.
The inside wouldtypicallybe afillershotasthe audience won’tbe seeingthisside asmuch.Lastly
the back of the coverwill have the track listings,the name of the produceranddetailsof the website
and where youcan buythe product.
Where doesthe CD go?
The CD goeswhere the fillershotwouldbe.
What is conventional or expectedaboutthe graphics or photography?
The graphics andphotographywill be veryhighendandwill show verygoodandclearshots.In
additionthe shotsneedtocorrelate witheachothersothat the whole albummakessense together.
Is the artist featured?
Thisdoesdependonthe artistthemselvesbuttypicallythe artistisfeaturedonthe albumasthey
wantto promote themselvesaswell astheiralbumsothattheiraudience will buyotheralbumsor
songstheywill bringinthe future. However,someartists(typicallysmallerones) will notwantthe
recognitionandwouldnotwanttheiridentityonthe frontcover.
Is there a “brand” that isestablishedinconsistentwith the artist in theirother promotional
material?
There can be a brandthat is establishedinconsistentwiththe artistandtheirotherpromotional
material. The artistneedstoknowwhattheirunique brandingis andtheirUSP,thiswill allow the
artistto have a strongerrelationshipwiththeiraudience astheywill connectmore throughthe
music.
