2. A digipak is a type of packaging for CDs or DVDs, typically made from cardboard with an
internal plastic holder for one or more discs. From the image on the right you can see all
the different digipack formats, the normal size would be the 4 panal CD pack which
contains 4 images with the dimensions 5.49" X 0.31" X 4.94".
The information in the digipak usually includes the songs that are contained in the CD
and information on the band and there next tour dates. The front of the Digipak has
the photo album of the artist to advertise themselves on the store shelves and on the
back is usually the song list that is contained in the CD. Occasionally there will be a
photo of the actual artist or artists inside the digipak. Furthermore the CD Is located
inside the Digipack where there is a round CD holder on the right side of the inside
case.
The album art will be conventional to the target audience of the genre,
if the target audience is for young teenagers the photography will be
expected to be colorful and eye-catching. While more rock genre
audiences will be expected to have a darker theme in there
photography.
3. Evanescence
The main singer is displayed for the
cover on the front of the Digipak, as this is
the cover for there album.
The style of this album is not simplistic as
there is a lot going on inside the photo's, in
addition to this the colour is flushed out to
over exposed blue. I believe that the artist
chose this design to relate to their music
as their songs are related to some
dark meanings.

therefore the album cover looks
intimidating.
