Personal Summary
I began my career in the oil industry in 1990 after serving 8 years with the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers as a
Class I Weapons Engineer. I held many positions and gained valuable experience both offshore and onshore until I found
my niche in Field Operations working for Schlumberger in 1995.
I joined Schlumberger as a permanent sensors monitoring technician and subsequently progressed to the level of
Completion installation Specialist/Crew Chief. This role involved planning, executing and supervision of high profile
completions incorporating permanent instrumentation and multi-line spooling operations for major clients. In 1998, I
transferred to Houston where I took up the position of Field Service Supervisor progressing to Application Engineer based
onshore in New Orleans.
In 2001 I returned to Aberdeen as the Field Service Manager a position I held for 5 years until I transferred to The Caspian
Region as GeoMarket Operations Manager for 5 Countries with a staff of 100. I continued in operations management for
a further 14 years increasing my financial responsibility from $30 to $70m to $100m.

In the 5 years between leaving the British Army and joining Schlumberger I worked as a multi coded welder, welding
inspector (CSWIP), fitted automated flushing systems in Whisky distilleries, NAS Class 6 high pressure flushing on topside
modules in Port Clarence, Chief Maintenance Engineer in ice producing plant, cutting processing/re-injection tech in Wytch
Farm and on the Brents, North Sea.
