Images day 1
Day 1 Production
• Since planning I received a message that one of the graphics that my client would like to receive are
some stat graphic templates, I wanted to try get some started today so I quickly looked at some
existing ones that other people had created for my client for inspiration. Obviously one of the issues
with these images is that they are quite hard to technically develop so I have tried following a
YouTube tutorial to edit the image as highly as possible and make it as technically good as possible.
However I am still not finished with it and there is a fair amount of it still to complete. In total I am
not very satisfied with this work so far I created today and I might completely change it in the next
coming days as the effect I am trying to create is not looking like what I was hoping it would as it is
quite hard to blend it in. On the new Photoshop document I used the guides to split the page in two
for the graphic as I wanted one side to show the stats and hen another side showing an image of
the player. The colour schemes I will be using are the initial colour schemes my client already uses
as they may actually want to use this product. First of all I removed Alisson (the player) from the
background by using the polygonal lasso tool and then selecting layer via copy. I then inserted the
jpeg I had downloaded of the smoke and tried to blend it in to create a smoke effect coming out of
the player. I edited the smoke on it’s own first using a variety of tools and then I changed its
positioning a lot and lowered it’s opacity. I used layer masks and also used the brush tool which
replaced Alisson with the smoke jpeg I had edited to try blend them together, however I did not get
the desired effect and I was overall unsatisfied with the product. I wanted to try edit Alisson as
heavily as possible as the image was not my own and to try avoid copy right issues. The creative
reasoning behind trying to edit him in the way I wanted to was I thought the smoke and fire would
represent his
Images Day 2
Day 2 Production
On the second day of production I largely focused on editing Alisson again, however I
quickly realised I was not happy at all with the first edit with the smoke I tried so I
went about editing the image differently again. I firstly edited the colour’s in the
background as much as possible. I cut out Alisson onto a separate layer and edited the
colours by adjusting the images curves. I firstly made an s type shape on the RGB
section but then I individually adjusted the red, green and blue curves and also made
an s shape with them, I wanted to boost the red the most although I also wanted it to
be fairly subtle and not overly red. I also adjusted the levels until I was satisfied.
Unfortunately there was still not much difference to the image other than his face and
the background looking fairly different. I had added a gold stroke which is the colour
my client uses around the border also as that is something I have noticed in their own
similar products. Before I finished for the day I wanted to get started on the other half,
where the actual statistics would be. I used a simple, fairly bold font so it would stand
out and be easy to read. On other info graphics/ stat designs I had seen I liked the use
of the circle styles they had created, so I created two circles, an inside and an outside
on. Both Circles had a different style/border edit on with dotted lines and a spaced out
square line for the inside circle. I quite liked the look of this design and I will carry on
using it for the statistics I place inside it

Day 3 Production
• For the third day of my production, I focused a lot again on the other side of of the
production, with the stats side. I used the circles I had already done and created
two extra ones so there would be three stats in total. I researched some statistics
and I chose to use stats that could be edited for when my client wants to use them,
for example how many games played and how many he had conceded, so all that
would need to be changed was a single number if my client decided to use the
image at a later date. I was quite happy with the look of this and I was happy I
used he colour schemes that already exist as they looked good and also kept the
consistency of the brand which appeals to my client as well as looking aesthetically
good. Another thing I did was include an image of my client’s logo and I reduced
the opacity but made it very large in the background, this made the stats more
visible and made sure the colours did not clash but also represented my client well,
I was also happy with this change. I also edited the text for Alisson’s name, I cut it
in half and changed the angle to give it a sliced effect, there was no creative
meaning behind this but I thought it made it look better and was technically a bit
better than just having plain text. I also chose to add the logo in a lower opacity in
the background. Overall I thought it looked quite good and I was fairly happy.

Day 4
For my fourth day I had finished the left hand side with the information
on it and I was satisfied with that, however I had one last final revamp for
my last day of production for this product for the right hand side with the
image of Alisson. I wanted to have the image as heavily edited as
possible for the reasons that firstly, I wanted to avoid it looking like a
stolen image and secondly to try demonstrate more technical ability. I
followed a YouTube tutorial on an image to try create a similar effect. To
do this I split the image into lots of different sections which eventually
became group. I used the rectangle tool over each area for example the
bottom left corner and then adjusted the hue and saturation of the
rectangle to make it a slightly different colour. I had to duplicate the
rectangles and then place each new rectangle over different parts of the
image and individually adjust the colours to my liking. The process was
more complex however I can't entirely remember it. Once I finished it, I
was satisfied overall and I thought it looked quite good. I did not use too
bright colours like I have done in the pass for the Alisson image so it did
not really strain the eyes and I also liked the colours used for the left
hand side. I liked this aspect because it meant I maintained the colour
scheme used and associated by my client. Not only does this benefit my
client but I also thought the colours looked aesthetically good and
Images Day 5
Day 5 Production
This day was the first day of my production for my goal gif. This was an
animated image for their twitter page to use when the team scores a goal. I
used Photoshop and opened the timeline window in order to animate it,
however I did not begin with any animations today and instead just made the
templates before animating. I firstly set the background colour to the colour
my client uses. I then placed their logo on the background and reduced the
opacity, that way it was still large and on the canvas however it would not get
in the way of anything. Following this, I then added the text 'goal'. I changed
the gradient overlay on the text to try make the font colour a blend of both of
my client's two main colours. I also used rectangles which I intend on moving
when making the animation. I coloured these in the gold colour my client
often uses. At this point I was not satisfied with the product and I wanted to
change the background from being just a block of colour and make it look a
bit different as well as change the text entirely as I did not like the colour or
the font. I firstly went onto the effects of the background and adjusted the
texture to the background that can be seen on the image on the right. I then
changed the text to a much bigger size as well as font and colour. All of
these changes to the text made it look much better, although it was fairly time
consuming looking for new fonts. This happened because it was requested
fairly late by my client so I did not have much time to plan it in the detail I
would have liked to. Tomorrow I will begin to animate this product.
Day 6 Images
Day 6 Production
On this day of production I began the animation for my gif.I created
the video timeline. I had to make different copies of text for moving it
in each frame. This day went fairly wrong and tomorrow I plan to
change a lot. This was mainly because I got confused and made
some errors with the timeline and made far too many frames
because I kept tweening it to try edit it and ended up with lots of
frames. I started off by changing the colour of the text between
frames, from white to the colours above which was not really an
issue and I will probably keep that part. I made it so that the 'goal'
text went from the middle, to the top, back to the middle and then to
the bottom of the screen, to finish in the middle. Once it got back to
the middle I then hid the text layer every other layer to make it
appear as if it was flashing. Once I finished this though I had way too
many layers as every time I tweened it, it added five new layers and
eventually got out of hand. Also while doing this I tried moving the
rectangles as part of the animation which added to making it very
confusing, therefore tomorrow I will start again.
Images Day 7
Day 7 Production
On this day I started my gif again. I kept the same text as last time and it
started off as white. As the frame changed it changed to a bolder, colour
font with a stroke around it. Also instead of moving the text around, I just
made it change colour and instead move things around it such as the
rectangles. I switched all four rectangles position and moved them but this
time I didn't tween the frames and it looked much better. There was not a
lot to talk about on this one as it was more simple as I just changed the
colours and moved the rectangles. I am fairly satisfied with this so far
considering I did not have much time to plan it, however I think it could be
better and I may make improvements tomorrow, as I show it to my client
and ask what type of improvements they would like to be made.
Images Day 8
Day 8 Production
Following my client's feedback, they, unlike me, quite liked the first GIF I
made and were happy with it. However they wanted me to create an extra
one with different colour schemes for when the club plays in a different
competition. I kept the background including the shapes from the original GIF
however and edited the colour of the text to Champions League colour
schemes. I also used shapes to create a small Champions League trophy in
the corner to further signal how it is for a different competition. This GIF was
more developed and harder to do that my first GIF, however it did not take too
long as I had got used to using that part of Photoshop over the last few days. I
also added the word goal in a much smaller size at the top and bottom and
animated it so one started in the top left while the other started in the bottom
right, and then they go towards the opposite side like a banner at the top and
bottom. I personally though this aspect looked quite good. In terms of the
main text, I made this flash while the other text moved. I did not move the
shapes this time. This day was my my planned last day for this product so I
did not have too much time to work on it, however I thought it looked okay and
I was fairlty satisfied with it. If I could improve it I would have done more with
the background and I also think I needed to make the main text more central.
Images Day 9
Production Day 9
On this day I began my final production. This was going to be the most simple
product. This product was meant to be a cover photo/ banner they could use
for their social media. I wanted to look at tutorials for business cards as that
could help it look more professional and technically better. One of the
common themes in these were the use of shapes so I also wanted to do that.
I firstly set the background to the maroon colour my client uses. I then put the
logo on the background and like in the previous products, I reduced the
opacity of it. I then added the text over it and changed the colour of the text to
the gold type colour. Once I had done that I used the shape tool and made
triangles along the side of the canvas. I changed the colours of each of these
slightly to a sightly different shade of the gold colour as I thought it looked
quite good. I also added a stroke to each of these. At this point I was finished
with this for the day and as (because I missed a day) only have two days of
production left, so I will ask my client for feedback and act on that on the next
day of production. So far this has gone better than I expected , particularly
because I could not plan this in a lot of detail in advance.
Images day 10
Day 10 Production
I was supposed to have an extra day of production, however I ended up finishing
this product, and therefore all my production today, so this will be my last part of
this development diary as tomorrow I won't be doing anything major tomorrow
other than minor improvements on each product. After receiving my feedback
from my client, they asked me to adjust the stroke and make it smaller as the
edges were too thick and make it look quite cartoon like, so I lowered the stroke
to 3. Other than that my client was quite happy with this product, although I
made a couple extra changes myself. I added a drop shadow to the text to make
it stand out more. Lastly the change I made was similar to what I had done on
another product where I added a texture to the background. Overall I was quite
satisfied with this product as well as all my products and from their feedback, my
client was also quite satisfied. If I was to improve this I would have tried learning
new things and expanding my technical abilities.

  • 3. Day 1 Production • Since planning I received a message that one of the graphics that my client would like to receive are some stat graphic templates, I wanted to try get some started today so I quickly looked at some existing ones that other people had created for my client for inspiration. Obviously one of the issues with these images is that they are quite hard to technically develop so I have tried following a YouTube tutorial to edit the image as highly as possible and make it as technically good as possible. However I am still not finished with it and there is a fair amount of it still to complete. In total I am not very satisfied with this work so far I created today and I might completely change it in the next coming days as the effect I am trying to create is not looking like what I was hoping it would as it is quite hard to blend it in. On the new Photoshop document I used the guides to split the page in two for the graphic as I wanted one side to show the stats and hen another side showing an image of the player. The colour schemes I will be using are the initial colour schemes my client already uses as they may actually want to use this product. First of all I removed Alisson (the player) from the background by using the polygonal lasso tool and then selecting layer via copy. I then inserted the jpeg I had downloaded of the smoke and tried to blend it in to create a smoke effect coming out of the player. I edited the smoke on it’s own first using a variety of tools and then I changed its positioning a lot and lowered it’s opacity. I used layer masks and also used the brush tool which replaced Alisson with the smoke jpeg I had edited to try blend them together, however I did not get the desired effect and I was overall unsatisfied with the product. I wanted to try edit Alisson as heavily as possible as the image was not my own and to try avoid copy right issues. The creative reasoning behind trying to edit him in the way I wanted to was I thought the smoke and fire would represent his
  • 5. Day 2 Production On the second day of production I largely focused on editing Alisson again, however I quickly realised I was not happy at all with the first edit with the smoke I tried so I went about editing the image differently again. I firstly edited the colour’s in the background as much as possible. I cut out Alisson onto a separate layer and edited the colours by adjusting the images curves. I firstly made an s type shape on the RGB section but then I individually adjusted the red, green and blue curves and also made an s shape with them, I wanted to boost the red the most although I also wanted it to be fairly subtle and not overly red. I also adjusted the levels until I was satisfied. Unfortunately there was still not much difference to the image other than his face and the background looking fairly different. I had added a gold stroke which is the colour my client uses around the border also as that is something I have noticed in their own similar products. Before I finished for the day I wanted to get started on the other half, where the actual statistics would be. I used a simple, fairly bold font so it would stand out and be easy to read. On other info graphics/ stat designs I had seen I liked the use of the circle styles they had created, so I created two circles, an inside and an outside on. Both Circles had a different style/border edit on with dotted lines and a spaced out square line for the inside circle. I quite liked the look of this design and I will carry on using it for the statistics I place inside it
  • 7. Day 3 Production • For the third day of my production, I focused a lot again on the other side of of the production, with the stats side. I used the circles I had already done and created two extra ones so there would be three stats in total. I researched some statistics and I chose to use stats that could be edited for when my client wants to use them, for example how many games played and how many he had conceded, so all that would need to be changed was a single number if my client decided to use the image at a later date. I was quite happy with the look of this and I was happy I used he colour schemes that already exist as they looked good and also kept the consistency of the brand which appeals to my client as well as looking aesthetically good. Another thing I did was include an image of my client’s logo and I reduced the opacity but made it very large in the background, this made the stats more visible and made sure the colours did not clash but also represented my client well, I was also happy with this change. I also edited the text for Alisson’s name, I cut it in half and changed the angle to give it a sliced effect, there was no creative meaning behind this but I thought it made it look better and was technically a bit better than just having plain text. I also chose to add the logo in a lower opacity in the background. Overall I thought it looked quite good and I was fairly happy.
  • 8. Images Day 4 Before After Adjusting the hue/satur ation on each panel
  • 9. Day 4 For my fourth day I had finished the left hand side with the information on it and I was satisfied with that, however I had one last final revamp for my last day of production for this product for the right hand side with the image of Alisson. I wanted to have the image as heavily edited as possible for the reasons that firstly, I wanted to avoid it looking like a stolen image and secondly to try demonstrate more technical ability. I followed a YouTube tutorial on an image to try create a similar effect. To do this I split the image into lots of different sections which eventually became group. I used the rectangle tool over each area for example the bottom left corner and then adjusted the hue and saturation of the rectangle to make it a slightly different colour. I had to duplicate the rectangles and then place each new rectangle over different parts of the image and individually adjust the colours to my liking. The process was more complex however I can't entirely remember it. Once I finished it, I was satisfied overall and I thought it looked quite good. I did not use too bright colours like I have done in the pass for the Alisson image so it did not really strain the eyes and I also liked the colours used for the left hand side. I liked this aspect because it meant I maintained the colour scheme used and associated by my client. Not only does this benefit my client but I also thought the colours looked aesthetically good and
  • 11. Day 5 Production This day was the first day of my production for my goal gif. This was an animated image for their twitter page to use when the team scores a goal. I used Photoshop and opened the timeline window in order to animate it, however I did not begin with any animations today and instead just made the templates before animating. I firstly set the background colour to the colour my client uses. I then placed their logo on the background and reduced the opacity, that way it was still large and on the canvas however it would not get in the way of anything. Following this, I then added the text 'goal'. I changed the gradient overlay on the text to try make the font colour a blend of both of my client's two main colours. I also used rectangles which I intend on moving when making the animation. I coloured these in the gold colour my client often uses. At this point I was not satisfied with the product and I wanted to change the background from being just a block of colour and make it look a bit different as well as change the text entirely as I did not like the colour or the font. I firstly went onto the effects of the background and adjusted the texture to the background that can be seen on the image on the right. I then changed the text to a much bigger size as well as font and colour. All of these changes to the text made it look much better, although it was fairly time consuming looking for new fonts. This happened because it was requested fairly late by my client so I did not have much time to plan it in the detail I would have liked to. Tomorrow I will begin to animate this product.
  • 13. Day 6 Production On this day of production I began the animation for my gif.I created the video timeline. I had to make different copies of text for moving it in each frame. This day went fairly wrong and tomorrow I plan to change a lot. This was mainly because I got confused and made some errors with the timeline and made far too many frames because I kept tweening it to try edit it and ended up with lots of frames. I started off by changing the colour of the text between frames, from white to the colours above which was not really an issue and I will probably keep that part. I made it so that the 'goal' text went from the middle, to the top, back to the middle and then to the bottom of the screen, to finish in the middle. Once it got back to the middle I then hid the text layer every other layer to make it appear as if it was flashing. Once I finished this though I had way too many layers as every time I tweened it, it added five new layers and eventually got out of hand. Also while doing this I tried moving the rectangles as part of the animation which added to making it very confusing, therefore tomorrow I will start again.
  • 15. Day 7 Production On this day I started my gif again. I kept the same text as last time and it started off as white. As the frame changed it changed to a bolder, colour font with a stroke around it. Also instead of moving the text around, I just made it change colour and instead move things around it such as the rectangles. I switched all four rectangles position and moved them but this time I didn't tween the frames and it looked much better. There was not a lot to talk about on this one as it was more simple as I just changed the colours and moved the rectangles. I am fairly satisfied with this so far considering I did not have much time to plan it, however I think it could be better and I may make improvements tomorrow, as I show it to my client and ask what type of improvements they would like to be made.
  • 17. Day 8 Production Following my client's feedback, they, unlike me, quite liked the first GIF I made and were happy with it. However they wanted me to create an extra one with different colour schemes for when the club plays in a different competition. I kept the background including the shapes from the original GIF however and edited the colour of the text to Champions League colour schemes. I also used shapes to create a small Champions League trophy in the corner to further signal how it is for a different competition. This GIF was more developed and harder to do that my first GIF, however it did not take too long as I had got used to using that part of Photoshop over the last few days. I also added the word goal in a much smaller size at the top and bottom and animated it so one started in the top left while the other started in the bottom right, and then they go towards the opposite side like a banner at the top and bottom. I personally though this aspect looked quite good. In terms of the main text, I made this flash while the other text moved. I did not move the shapes this time. This day was my my planned last day for this product so I did not have too much time to work on it, however I thought it looked okay and I was fairlty satisfied with it. If I could improve it I would have done more with the background and I also think I needed to make the main text more central.
  • 19. Production Day 9 On this day I began my final production. This was going to be the most simple product. This product was meant to be a cover photo/ banner they could use for their social media. I wanted to look at tutorials for business cards as that could help it look more professional and technically better. One of the common themes in these were the use of shapes so I also wanted to do that. I firstly set the background to the maroon colour my client uses. I then put the logo on the background and like in the previous products, I reduced the opacity of it. I then added the text over it and changed the colour of the text to the gold type colour. Once I had done that I used the shape tool and made triangles along the side of the canvas. I changed the colours of each of these slightly to a sightly different shade of the gold colour as I thought it looked quite good. I also added a stroke to each of these. At this point I was finished with this for the day and as (because I missed a day) only have two days of production left, so I will ask my client for feedback and act on that on the next day of production. So far this has gone better than I expected , particularly because I could not plan this in a lot of detail in advance.
  • 21. Day 10 Production I was supposed to have an extra day of production, however I ended up finishing this product, and therefore all my production today, so this will be my last part of this development diary as tomorrow I won't be doing anything major tomorrow other than minor improvements on each product. After receiving my feedback from my client, they asked me to adjust the stroke and make it smaller as the edges were too thick and make it look quite cartoon like, so I lowered the stroke to 3. Other than that my client was quite happy with this product, although I made a couple extra changes myself. I added a drop shadow to the text to make it stand out more. Lastly the change I made was similar to what I had done on another product where I added a texture to the background. Overall I was quite satisfied with this product as well as all my products and from their feedback, my client was also quite satisfied. If I was to improve this I would have tried learning new things and expanding my technical abilities.
