3. Literature review
 A literature review is an evaluative report of information
found in the literature related to your selected area of
study.
The review should describe, summarise, evaluate and
clarify this literature. It should give a theoretical base for
the research
and help you (the author) determine the nature of your
research.

4. THE PURPOSE OF THE LITERATURE REVIEW
• A good literature review shows that you are aware of what is going on in
the field
• That there is a theory base for the work you are proposing to do
• How your work fits in with what has already been done (it provides a
detailed context for your work)
• That your work has significance
• That your work will lead to new knowledge.
