1. Equipment, grounds, and facilities should be checked on a regular basis.
2. Equipment should be appropriate for the activity for which it is being used.
3. Safety equipment should be provided for all activities that require such equipment.
4. Facilities must be used in a safe manner.
5. Facilities, grounds, and equipment must all be maintained in good condition.
6. Grounds should be inspected daily for holes, uneven areas, and debris.
7. Unsafe grounds should not be used until they are safe.
8. Equipment and facility areas should be secured when not in use.
9. Protective equipment must fit properly and meet established safety standards.
10. Warning notices relation to equipment, facilities, and their use must be prominently
displayed.
11. Purchase high-quality equipment and do not use equipment that is worn or broken
unless it has been repaired

should have courses that prepare them to understand the injuries that
occur in their sports or activities.

e) Transportation of Students
Only school transportation should be used to transport students.
The vehicle should be checked thoroughly before beginning a trip.
A code of student conduct should be enforced at all times.
If a person is required to use a personal vehicle, the vehicle must have
sufficient insurance and the insurance must cover both the employee
and students when the vehicle is used for this purpose.
It is important that insurance coverage remain in effect when vehicles
are driven by students and other legal ramifications should be
investigated before a decision is made to let college students drive
school vehicles.

are used primarily to inform parents or guardians about an
activity that will take place and to request permission for their
child to participate. This keep parents and guardians aware of
activities in which their children can be involved.

These forms are considered a type of contract in which people
waive their right to sue responsible employees, the school
district, or the organization sponsoring the activity.
