1. 1. Groundwater, a natural ressource to preserve. NABYL Sarah DUCRET Camille PROMPT Jean-Matthieu BERNIGAUD Camille
 2. 2. Presentation

Our project is about groundwater, a natural ressource to preserve. We are going to deal about this subject in seven steps:

- Introduction

- Water Table

- Aquifer system

- Working of the aquifer system

- Connexion between aquifers and rivers

- Supervising and preservation

- Water problems

 3. 3. Introduction

Groundwater is all the water that is underground. It is in direct contact with the ground. It is an essential natural ressource. Sometimes there are water conflicts between countries.

 4. 4. Water Table Water table comes from water falling down from atmosphere and taking several ways to reach seas. A third of these precipitations reach seas. Another part infiltrates the ground and forms the groundwater. What we call the water tables is the ‘surface’ of the groundwater. They are areas saturated by water situated in low depth and accessible by drilling. It supplies drinkable water but it’s also the part of groundwater the most exposed to pollution
 5. 5. Aquifer

An aquifer is a permeable hydrogeological training for the significant flow of groundwater. It is constituted by two main phases in perpetual interaction :

- The solid is the reservoir

- The other liquid is water underground

The rate of water in a cubic

meter of aquifer

 6. 6. Supervising and preservation

To avoid the over exploitation of a resource, we must consider the water demand, the time and the parameters of the aquifer system… We must maintain the water level and being careful not to use more than we have even if water is an extensible resource.

The taste of the tap water is often linked to the natural mineralisation or to some treatment products used but not often linked to ground pollution because we don’t distribute polluted water to people. The more often pollutants are nitrates, pesticides, hydrocarbons…
 7. 7. Water problems

Excesses of water:

Every years water killed people with inundations and with the climates changements.

Since thousand and thousand years, a lot of regions support a lot of water when there is tropical storm or with the river or lack really big to contain it.

In the entire planet, temperatures augments reason has pollution by gas. The gas keeps the warmth in the atmosphere so some regions will be hotter and more humid because the regime of precipitation is changed so the number of storm augments.

Water doesn’t have colour, form, smell, it is transparent and sometime we don’t really care about it but it is after air the substance the most important for our survive. Everybody needs it but there are many problems with it.
 8. 8.

The lack of water:

The desert has less than 15cm of water by years, people, animal and plants can survive there.

In regions where water is rare, people used more water than nature can have and in town where there is more water, half is lost because of escape.

In dry regions, water is used for irrigation. But people want more for grace, park… This consummation can’t continue like that because groundwater took thousand and thousand years to form them and a lot of forage is exhaust in 10 years.

 9. 9. Conclusion

Water is a natural and renewable ressource that’s indispensable for the entire humanity.

THE END.
