Talking to Boys
Things to think about?
A language for learning
Non teacher mentors
Lippy kids on the corner again
Lippy kids on the corner begin settling like crows
Though I never perfected that simian stroll
But the cigarette scent, it was everything then
Do they know those days are golden?
Build a rocket boys!
Build a rocket boys!
According to Save the Children, in
Lincoln, there is an 11-12%
percentage point gender gap
between boys and girls when it
comes to reaching the expected
level of speech and language skills
at the age of five. 25% of boys do
not reach the expected level.
What are we talking to
them about?
Who is doing the
talking and who is
doing the listening?
Evolving a meaningful
language of learning
based on learning power
and visualisations
Developing a
mentoring program
delivered by
undergraduate
students at Lincoln
University
Are we speaking the
same language?
Do we stop to consider
what it sounds like
from the other side?
