This presentation is about a case study students which can be conducted by teachers to understand the inappropriate or unusual behaviour of students in classrooms. This presentation gives a stepwise approach to handle difficult students.

• Diversity in school as well as in a classroom is a common
observation.
• Each student has his/her strength and weakness and pace of
learning.
• A student is a case if :
 display of age inappropriate behaviour
Actions and behaviour are not conducive to school environment.
Actions and behaviour are detrimental to his/her own health/
grades.

General information
• Name, DOB, Parent’s name and
occupation, Siblings, Home Address
Analysis of positive and
negative points
• Observe the case carefully for at least
15 days

8. Befriend
your case.

9. 3. Diagnosis
• Figure out the reasons behind the inappropriate or unusual
behaviour of your case.

10. 4. Intervention
• These are the actions which you take to bring improvement in your
case.
• The nature of problem under consideration decides the
intervention.
• Some basic interventions that can be followed are:
Counselling the student
Counselling the parents
• Plan your intervention. Time period of each intervention should be
planned and result of each intervention should be noted.

11. • Observe the changes regularly.
• Case study should be carried out as long as complete
or significant improvement is not observed .
