2. Antifungal antibiotics
 Antibiotic is defined as a chemical substance
produced by one micro organism which is in
low concentration can inhibit or even kill
other microorganism.
 They can be grouped as antibacterial
antibiotics and antifungal antibiotics

 Griseofulvin
 Cycloheximide
 Blasticidin
 Antimycin
 Kasugamycin
 Thiolution
 Endomycin
 Bulbiformin
 Nystatin
 Eurocidin

4. Aureofungin
 Sold as aurefungin sol.
 Normal spray 50 -100 ppm
 As a trunk application or root feeding ,2g
aureofungin + 1g copper sulphate in 100 mlof
water
 Reduce tanjore wilt

5. Antimycin
Produced by streptomyces
Commercially known as antimycin
Used against early blight of tomato
,rice blast ,seedling blight of oats

6. Thiolution
 Produced by streptomyces albus
 Effevtively used to control late blight of
potato amd downy mildew of cruciferous
vegetables.

7. Endomycin
 Product of streptomyces endus
 Used against leaf rust of wheat and
fruit rot of strawberry

8. Bulbiformin
 Produced by bacillus subtilis
 Used againt red gram wilt

9. Eurocidin
 Produced by streptomyces anandii
 Used against diseases caused by
colletotrichum and helminthosporium

10. Griseofulvin
 Penicilium griseofulvum
 Foliar spray 100 -1000 ppm
 Inhibit fungal cell mitosis and nucleic acid synthesis
 Aslo interferes with spindle tube
 Toxic to Downy mildew of cucumbers ,powdery mildew of roses

11. Kasugamycin
 Streptomyces kasugaensis
 Inhibits proliferation of bacteria by tampering their ability
to make proteins and ribosomes
 Specific against Rice blast disease

12. Nystatin
 Streptomyces noursei
 Also checks downy mildew of cucurbits
 Mycostain ,Fungicidin
 Leads to K+ leakage,acidification and death of the
fungus
 Used against Anthracnose in banana and brownrot
of peach

13. Cycloheximide
 Streptomyces griseus , S.noursei
 Actidione ,actidione PM ,actidione RZ ,Actispray
 Extremly phytotoxic
 Interferes with translocation in protein synthesis
 Used against bunt of wheat

14. Blasticidin
 Streptomyces griseochromogenes
 Bla –s
 Inhibits peptide bond formation And no
longer produce new proteins
 Used against blast of rice
