What kind of media
    {
institution might
distribute your media
product and why?
Distribution Company
• For my magazine, I would choose a conglomeration that is
mainstream to distribute my magazine, so that my product
would be able to be distributed across a range of platforms, to
all the major retail outlines. I would want my magazine to be
distributed to retailers such as Tesco, ASDA and WH Smith, this
would mean that it would most likely be distributed by a
  company called Frontline.
What company/magazine fits into the
strategy I’ve chosen?

            • A real company that fits into this strategy would be
a company such as Frontline, as they sell magazines
of this genre, and also magazines such as women's
weeklies, women's lifestyle, TV, Music and film, and
also specialist magazine markets, therefore they
would most likely distribute my magazine.

            • A magazine that would fit into this strategy would be
a magazine such as NME or Q magazine, as they
have a wide market all over the UK and Ireland.
Why have I chosen this strategy?
 • The retail outlets where you can get the magazine would be suited to
my audience as it means that the magazine can be purchased from
several major outlets, as well as smaller outlets such as ‘corner shops’
and local newsagents, making it easy to get hold of for all ages,
however in particular teenagers and young adults.

 • This strategy would fit in with my brand of magazine as it is
not a specialist magazine, and this genre of magazine is
typically sold in all the retail outlets that I have chosen for my
   magazine to be sold in.
Multi – Platform distribution
strategy
• With my magazine I would prefer to use a multi-platform distribution as it
means that it would be advertised on the internet, however, if the magazine
had a website, there could be a chance that it may hinder the profits as a lot of
people look at stories on the internet, to save money, instead of going out and
  buying the hard copy.

• I think if it was on the internet as well it would suit the target audience as the
age range I have targeted would most likely look at the internet more, however
would want to buy the magazine as the website would not include the poster
pages and other things that you can only get inside the magazine.
