1. Tell us about your career at SPIE.
Philippe de Lastic: I graduated from the Ecole Polytechnique and the IFP (Institut Français
du Pétrole) engineering school, and got my first job at SPIE Oil & Gas Services in 2014 as
a methods engineer. I was responsible for the technical monitoring of the key indicators of
maintenance and operational contracts, submitting tenders, carrying out technical studies
and substituting for people in Africa as and when necessary. Since April 2017, I have been
working for SPIE Operations as a project leader. I coordinate pilot projects for digitalising
our operations in maintenance services.
What do you most appreciate about the tasks you are assigned?
P. de L.: The diversity and the responsibility they entail. I particularly appreciate the fact
that SPIE has given me my opportunity when I have temporarily replaced people in posts
involving a higher level of responsibility than my own. This is very much part of the Group’s
HR policy of encouraging young profiles.
Why have you chosen to work for SPIE?
P. de L.: Over the last three years, I have learned to hone my sense of diplomacy and timing,
and I have had the chance to acquire solid experience of management. I would add that SPIE
has a sense of customer service, a value that I completely share. And the projects on which
I work are fully contributing to the momentum of Industry 4.0.
At the age of only 27, Philippe de Lastic has already been given
a certain level of responsibility at SPIE Operations as a project leader.
