What positions have you had at SPIE?
Christophe Francey: I’m a Telecoms Engineer. I was hired by SPIE Switzerland in January 2017
as a Consultant Architect in collaborative solutions, a position that combines both technical
and commercial aspects. Then at the end of 2017, I took over the management of the Lausanne
agency. This gave me the opportunity to manage around thirty employees, both engineers and
sales representatives, but also to develop the business activity in our core businesses:
IT networks, security, collaboration and data centres.
What are the challenges you face in your sector?
C.F.: Competition in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector is quite
fierce in Switzerland. At SPIE Switzerland we have a high level of expertise, but the challenge
is to stay ahead of the field. This means that we always have to be more active and more agile
to win new markets. That is why we have to constantly be forward-looking and have a good
understanding both of the sector and the market’s expectations.
Which project are you the proudest of?
C.F.: When I arrived at SPIE Switzerland, I understood very soon that our value comes from the
great expertise of our employees. At the moment, I’m working a lot on how we can promote our
expertise by making it more visible from outside the company. By adapting our discourse,
attitudes are changing. Thus, major clients now ask us spontaneously for advice or support for
their transformation projects. It is no longer the other way, which is very gratifying!
