IsmaëlJallouli : After completing a Master’s degree in Management Control at Paris-Dauphine
University in September 2017, I wanted to work abroad. I uploaded my CV on a platform run by
the French Volunteer for International Experience (VIE) Programme. SPIE Oil & Gas Services
(OGS) contacted me and offered me a job as a Project Controller in Nigeria.

deviations from the forecasts. I am also in contact with the SPIE Group’s head office, so that I
am the focal point for management or business issues. My job consists in being capable of
understanding technical issues. It means I have to talk a lot with the Project Managers.
How does SPIE welcome International Volunteers ?
I.J. : Working abroad is an incredible opportunity for a young graduate but, on the other hand,
it’s hard to leave your country and your family behind. Having said that, I immediately felt that
I was part of the SPIE team, which helped me to fit in. They also let me carrying out concrete
tasks from the very first day, which I appreciated very much and motivated me.
