1. HOW DID YOU USE MEDIA TECHNOLOGIES
IN THE RESEARCH, PLANNING,
CONSTRUCTION AND EVALUATION
STAGES?

2. BLOGGER
This is a media technology I have used in all the stages,
additionally I used it last year which means I am very
comfortable in using it. This is the main piece of technology
we used, this is how we edit and display our work. In the
research stage, it mainly used for presenting my case studies,
theories and audience feedback. When posting them I needed
to know how to embed a video/ image with the text. In the
planning stage, I upped my technology use because I said to
take photos on a camera and upload without problems. In the
construction stage I uploaded the final products which meant I
needed to know how to upload one of my own videos via
YouTube, which is another media technology I used for all the
stages.
To conclude, blogger is essential for all stages and all tasks. I
am pleased with my technological skills in blogger, I now know
how to label things and embed things.

3. YOUTUBE
Another piece of media technology I used was YouTube,
as I mentioned in my previous paragraph, YouTube was
another essential media technology I used. I used it in
all stages. I used for both supporting and challenging
the conventions. The main videos I looked at where from
band like; The Script, Lawson, 5 seconds of Summer,
Room 94. Each of these bands has music videos on
YouTube which was used during the research stage. As
well using it to support or challenge my work, I also used
it to upload my work. I mainly used it for uploading
purposes in the research and construction stage. I had
to upload my focus group and the final music video,
which I embedded on my blog. Additionally, I now know
how to see the views on a video which before I didn't
know how to. I believe my YouTube skills have improved
a lot.

4. DAFONT
This is a text generator on the internet which we used
during the construction stage because we needed
to have text on the Digipak and the Magazine
advert.
I was very comfortable using this.

5. CAMERA
Although this wasn't used as often as other media
technologies, when we did use it we had to be
perfect and use it a lot in this short period. The only
times we use the video camera were when we were
filming the focus group and the music video. As part
of filming we need to know how to get the correct
camera shots when using this camera, since we
had used it the year before this wasn't something I
had to get used to.
To conclude I found the camera to be a skills I'm ok at
but there is always room for improvement.

6. PREZI
As part of media, we have to make sure our work is
documented nicely and we use a broad range of media
technologies, this is something I used once last year but
I wasn't very good at it but this year I chose to use it
again in the planning stage, this year I think my skills for
it have massively improved. It helped me with the
casting choices because I could separate different
characters into different stems which is very helpful
when presenting it. Additionally, as well as needing to
know how to make a prezi, another technology point I
had to over come was embedding the film, I had
experience in embedding video files from YouTube but it
was new to be to embed a prezi.
In the end I found out how to do it and now this is a skill I
am happy with and it helped my planning stage a lot.

7. SLIDE SHARE
Like prezi, this was another way to show my media
technologies I can use. Last year I mainly used
scribed so I needed to change it this year, so I used
slide share. This is a presenting page for
PowerPoint's you have creating and then they can
just go on your blog. I only used slide share in the
first 2 stages because, this is when I needed to
present the codes and conventions and ours were
pop rock. Additionally I also used slide share for my
theory presentation because it nicely lays it out.

8. GOOGLE
This was the only thing I used at least once every
lesson, every time I was writing something up and I
needed to support it with something I would type a
band in and find a case study with supported it.
To conclude this is a media technology I am very
happy in using, I use it in and out or school so this
doesn't bother me.

9. PHOTOSHOP
This was used in the construction stage, unlike last
year we had to create two ancillary texts; Magazine
advert, and Digipak. I had never used Photoshop
before, so this is defiantly a new media technology I
used. We had a period of time to edit our products
and when we finished we got feedback and then
improved on them so we used Photoshop a lot.
I found Photoshop to be very difficult but I was happy
to work it out and create good ancillary texts for me
and my group.

10. PREMIER PRO
This is a piece of editing software which we used to
create and edit our final music video. Premier pro
was not a new technology but it still was one I
needed help on, but as a group we managed to get
the final product. This year we used it planning and
construction because this year we had to make the
focus group so we had to add text to it.
This time I sat down with fellow members of our
group and we looked at all the transitions, which is
something I didn't do last year so this was new to
me. This year I certainly feel more confident.

11. MICROSOFT OFFICES
I used the Microsoft offices throughout the entire
course of media, the main time I used it was during
the evaluation stage because they were essay
based and they needed to be typed up before had.
This is not a new technology because, I used it for all
more work in all my subjects. Additionally I used it
outside of school.
To conclude, I found that Microsoft was a great help
when it came to laying out the text and editing it.

12. CONCLUSION
To conclude, there are some new technologies which
I don't understand and there are some old ones
which I’m still confused about. But the overall usage
of them on my blog I think is ok. Over the two year
course I am glad I have used all of these media
technologies.
